youre spot on the RCE dampers. im on ohlins and rode on my buddies RCE T2 and they feel very similar and comfortable and handle bumps super good on track!
I personally wen KW v3s last year and it's night and day compared to other cheaper entry level to even cheaper mid level coilovers. I tell people nowadays to SPEND THE EXTRA on a quality set of coilovers like the KW. You're going to be MUCH happier every time you hop in your car and drive. Even drove mine in the winter and when it came time to replace the springs with stiffer rates, the collars moved very easy.
@taleent4700 I have an frs. Which uses a lot of the same parts aftermarket wise, many are interchangeable. I had bought the eibach set. And I had a purple set on my car when I got my second frs. I have no idea as to what they were as they were unmarked and came installed already. But both sets made the car handle more loose feeling. I got the kw coilovers which made the car feel like stock, but allowed me to lower it as much as I wanted. I had to get other suspension parts as well though to get the alignment close to stock. Have a slight bit of camber, I think -1.5 degrees in the rear. And the front is within oem spec.
Bought my FactionFab FL Spec V2 mainly because of your video in regards to how happy you were with your set of F series at the time! I don't think they're horrible by any means for the money, but I can't lie and say I wouldn't love a set of RCE's myself!

Sound really good, I was planing on fortune autos cause kw was too pricey but kw helped make this and you plus so many other people say it’s a great daily driving coilover. Like so many people say teins are great but I don’t trust that. Glad you experienced both worlds of good and bad, this is what I’ve been looking for.
If you're looking for something cheaper, check out ST Suspension. It's owned by KW Suspension so all their technology is also found on ST coilovers. They use cheaper materials to build ST coilovers (like galvanized steel bodies instead of stainless bodies like KWs) but the quality will be the same.
I really don't understand why anyone thinks they can spend substantially less than factory for suspension and think they're improving performance. I wouldn't buy coilovers cheaper than $1,500 if they were non-adjustable let alone spending less than that for adjustable coilovers. I got the RCE Tarmac Zero coilovers on my STI which were $1,800 at the time. They're fantastic. If I wanted something adjustable, I'd step up to the Tarmac 2 for $2,700, and then I'd get them shock dyno'd so I know which settings on each actually match.
I was in between these and the bc racing, and the price was really attractive. But I'm glad i went with bc, especially after watching this. Thanks for the honesty bro.

Its Jose, I just ordered Ce28s plus with those exact specs. Are having to do any fender modifications with your particular ride height and camber settings? If so what are your rear camber settings? And did you purchase the RUCA? I went ahead and purchased the RUCA. My eta is March for the Ce28s, trying to iron out any issues ahead of time. Also, how have the top hats and spherical bushing for the front and rear effected NVH for daily?
I have a 2019 Wrx and it’s a daily but I want to take it to the track occasionally during the year. I’m looking for a good set of coilovers that can do street and track duties well. I’m deciding between RCE SS1 or SS2, FA500, Ohlins R&T and KW V1. I’d like some help deciding between them. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for better performance but not too much.

If you arent going to track and just want cosmetics, just get lowering springs. They will look just as good and handle better than cheap junk coils. If you actually intend to do some real performance driving, coils are well worth it. Also, Tein makes really great stuff for really great prices. Just sayin

As long as I install aftermarket rear lower control arms and camber bolts in the front, do you think I should be able to get a few degrees of camber adjustment front and rear ?
I had sti springs and Bilstein dampers on a Gen 1 BRZ. I loved them, but they’re def stiff. I would say, save your money and get a quality set of coilovers
i ordered a 2024 premium model with the performance package with SACHS dampers, if i wanted to lower my car could i do it with those or would i have to get the superstreet 1's? still confused on the whole lowering thing

Had KW V1's on the e92 that was traded in on my neptune 86. Once hit a pot hole so bad that I snapped a half axel, but the KW didn't blow. Their stuff is bomb proof, I'm convinced. Thanks for turning me on to these

Any recommendations for staying really close to stock height? I let someone drive my car and they broke my front lip and nearly ripped off my bumper lol. Big pothole in a parking lot. I was thinking fortune auto.
@MarioK4rt well it will only lower your vehicle depending on the lowering springs you buy. You could also just run your oem springs for oem hight but get the extra comfort and performance of the upgraded struts.
@Kevinvo be real with me, are ISC coilovers entry level? I have the N1 street sports and they are bouncy and stiff and tbh after a year I hate them. I really wished I bought B6 Beilstiens and got 1-1.5 inch lowering springs.
I haven't personally tried them, but anything around that $1000 usually will give you mediocre results. That's the point where I'd say just spend a few hundred bucks more.
I had lowering D2 springs and trueheart shocks on my car. IT WAS HORRIBLE. Screw cheap brands. I now have K sports which are like a mid tier brand. And they're so much better. It handles better, rides better, and makes way less noise. NEVER CHEAP OUT ON YOUR CAR! IT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU
With the new setup, do you still need the spacers to fix the rubbing issues? I’m in the process of figuring out my wheel fitment on my GR86. I want to run 18x9.5 +45 Advan RG-4’s with a 255 tire. Kevin, what are your thoughts on the Tein Flex Z? I have them on my 2013 BRZ and while they feel comfortable I can’t seem to nail down the source of clunking noises.
Did you buy them used? If they’re used then I wouldn’t blame the coilover I’d blame the previous owner. If they’re new then the only issue I’ve seen is maybe your ride height is too low?
@@joshfetty I bought them new and stayed close to out of the box height. I’ve gone through everything I can think of as far as ensuring things are torqued go spec, including the sway bar end links

dont underestimate a good shock and lowering spring. Idk I set it and forget it so I got Koni STR.T and Eibach Sportlines on a 323 and they were the tits.
Can definitely put together a good package if you pickup the right parts. Most people don't want to deal with the process of piecing everything together though.
The "right" alignment specs comes down to what you're using the car for. For most people that are just daily driving the car you won't want anything too aggressive, -1.5 to -2.5 degrees, but if you're tracking the car you'll want even more to activate more grip. Thanks for watching!

I tried a couple sets of lowering springs. Looked good. Handled worse. Then bought some KWs. They are awesome.

Its a little annoying bc i bought BCs bc car youtubers raved about them. But the ride quality is not there. Hopefully these will be mich better.
I first got stance coilovers and they were so harsh. Eventually got cheaper used ones, BC coilovers and it felt way better.

Yeah I did faction fab on my 2015 sti and it ruined the drive for me, I ended up selling the car and the coil overs were a big part of the reason why
Bottom line if you are looking into Suspension for your ZN6/8 Most bang for your buck will be rear control arms and camber bolts,

Went mid tier w/ BC Racing coils. Looked great. Drove much worse than stock. This was on a 2016 BRZ. Have not installed them on my GR86.

Who do you recommend SS 1 and SS 2 for? Is the 2 more track focused?
Yes the 2 is track focues. 1 is more street focused but can be used one track.
I went with rce yellow springs intially then paired them with bilstein B6s.
If not for buying springs first the SS1 were next on ky list.
RCE yellows are the go to spring!

Fortune Auto 500s are a good place to start. Racecomp SS1s are also very good.

Faction fabs FL CO are pretty good, great for city, and I can stiff them up when I go to the tracks

@B wouldn't that still drop it 20mm or so like these do? I hate the gap but I hate texas roads even more.

I don’t have any coil overs, because I cannot afford them. Therefore , if you can’t afford good coil overs, don’t buy cheap ones. Just leave it stock.

dont underestimate a good shock and lowering spring. Idk I set it and forget it so I got Koni STR.T and Eibach Sportlines on a 323 and they were the tits.
Can definitely put together a good package if you pickup the right parts. Most people don't want to deal with the process of piecing everything together though.
I have sport lines and after sitting for the winter one has dropped about an inch, nearly sitting on tire

Get it aligned. Imo a great camber angle is -2 fronts to -2.5 degrees rear.
The "right" alignment specs comes down to what you're using the car for. For most people that are just daily driving the car you won't want anything too aggressive, -1.5 to -2.5 degrees, but if you're tracking the car you'll want even more to activate more grip. Thanks for watching!
