TJ, please for the safety of who ever ends up with this car and for the sake of saving you any backlash if something was to happen. Modify the crash beam!! This is not safe for the driver or your brand dude. I get if you do it to yours, but not to something that could possibly end up with a younger driver behind the wheel

I agree with you and am totally against on what they have done. First and foremost, they reduced the structural rigidity of the car by removing that crash bar Because that crash bar holds both ends of the chassis together. Secondly, if there is an accident, things could get bad pretty quickly. One problem they would face with trying to use the factory crash bar is that the front bumper is so much open from the front that the crashbar will show. Where the crashbar is supposed to be to sit, there is no material on the bumper to hide it. If the opening was a bit less extreme, they could have modified the crashbar, like i’ve done on mine, keep it OEM + and most importantly much safer!

Damage increasing further into the engine bay and moving internals towards the driver. I thought you were full of it until I kept watching. Like no way they did that.

Also, the "inter-cooler" which is ACTUALLY a "Charge Cooler" since it's NOT INSIDE the intake like an LSA or Hellcat...IS UPSIDE DOWN. 😆 The big bar you put on the top is much bigger, it's meant to be able to take a bump or two.
TJ I have seen the extent you guys go through to make sure everything is perfect on your cars, leaving the crash bar off is crazy for a giveaway car. Take the time to make it perfect and safe, not only will the car be totaled from one front end crash you are risking the winners life.
So happy you're on the UEL header game too. I big turbo'd my 19 sti and everyone bagged me for going with the tomei UEL. I bought the STI for that legendary sound I was ok with the sacrifice.
At least weld a simple tubular bar in, not only it's dangerous it also totals the car if you had a small accident and on top I'm sure you have problems with insurance. You definitely can make something work that fit.

Ptuning Turbo kit would have been an immensely better choice in my opinion TJ than the JDL.... Crash beam is one of the common removals of turbo kit installs in most applications, but some companies mitigate risk to this with a modular beam that enables front bumper / intercooler integration without risking as much safety. Also, if I wasn't a poor. I'd rock them wheels haha
on Gen 1 in South Africa. I did a sump clean. Worms for lunch. Then they did a recall to replace the valve springs. Guess what. I needed to do a sump clean 1 month later as there were more worms for lunch. Everytime they take something apart they use tooooo much RTV to reassemble.
Why always go for big numbers on those small car ? That is absolutely not necessary to give those car what they miss, wich is about a hundred hp. They should come from factory with 325-350 hp. That is all you need for a small strret car like this. Especialy a car with no crash bar !!!!! Keep up the good work man. I cant wait to see this RB Mustang.

2 things I noticed Teeg and Cal used to do like 10 vids just to cover this turbo install lol crazy how far they’ve come. 2, Call used to get so butt hurt when Teeg would say something about him gernading the BRZ
Most crash bars especially on small vehicles are only rated from 10mph to 25 mph impact, anything beyond that your crash bumper does little to nothing. Back in the 90s and early 2000 it was common place to extremely modifiy or remove the crash bar to fit a large intercooler. How many accidents have you all had to be so worried avout a 20 mph impact bumper? 😂
Long time viewer here. There is no evidence that the excess RTV issue causes these motors to go. The issue is primarily related to oil pressure specifically during high G right hand corners while on track. This has been mitigated, for the most part, with an over fill and/or accumulator. The pickup tube was improved on the 2nd gen because the first gen also had this RTV problem. I understand this is a giveaway car but please do your research... especially as a BRZ owner. There are many videos of extensive testing on TH-cam. Not hard to find, check out 900BRZ's videos. He's dumped his heart and soul into the research. The information in this video is highly misleading and adds to the reason that the Internet thinks all 2nd gen BRZs and GR86s are doomed.
