Scenario #1 I bet the gentleman didn't report because he was tired of waiting for approval and was about to get into apartment. People face the risk of being homeless while waiting for approval for section 8 or low income housing. Some are already homeless

Be careful. I have been in a HUD building for thirteen years. It is almost impossible to leave. The buildings fall in disrepair. I mean totally get it if that's your last choice, but I would pursue a Section eight housing. This will provide you a choice. Yearly inspections under sec 8 will help keep your landlord to maintain your apartment. But Please don't rip off a private landlord. Section 8 clients have a bad reputation.

I just got contacted by a property manager from affordable housing I’m currently in a cna program and don’t have any income besides my daughter getting ssi at the moment. My classes are over in less than a week will I still qualify
They should have Employees that know how to check applications thoroughly before entering the housing authority instead of waiting to catch it in a long run..The Employees committed fraud just as well as the tenant or wasn't thoroughly trained to check it from the door.Housing Authority be knowing so they just as Fraudulent as the people they think they getting away with it.The problem with this world is people be playing too many games instead of helping someone sooner rather than later when it's too late

I am in the middle of this process.. Can have No credit affect ur chances of getting the apartment and Can another relative cosign or allow for the developers run their credit instead eventhough they are not on the lease.
If you are disabled and you can show a nexus, can you make a reasonable accommodation on a rule that hud has?

I just spent 10 years on the net trying to get my Affordable Housing question answered. I think this would be a good subject for you to do a video on cause there is no other information online about it. Can a Landlord require someone that lives in an Affordable Housing unit to obtain Liability Insurance in order to get that Affordable housing unit? Same answer applies to Housing Choice and 40B properties....that might help you find the answer if you dont know it already.
Hi Love, I want to ensure I understand your question. Liability insurance for what purpose? Do you mean renters insurance ? If so, that is optional and not required in NYC.

Current income. 0.06% of your total asset is imputed and counted towards your total household income. Please see income calculation video.

Sorry I am seeing your comment so late. For a lottery process, it is highly unlikely that this can be done as the selection is not made by the Developer or their staff. Developers do not get to select which applicants are chosen.
Now in Florida low income disabled seniors can't get low income senior hud apts without having top credit or a co signer or if youv had a eviction ul be turned down

Im a Senior and disabled. I was semi-evicted in Philadelphia. A vindictive landlord locked me out for 3 days. For being $200 behind. I got a legal aid, paid the late payments and court costs and I was let back in. Now I have a mark on my housing record. When I went to apply for another apartment, I was rejected because of this so-called eviction. I really want to move, but Im afraid to apply again.
What can I do?
You can dispute that address with the credit bureaus as long as you did not have credit at that address the bureaus should remove that information

@@treadlightly8456 doesn't really matter because when you dispute the address with the credit bureaus they won't notify the landlord that you are disputing the eviction
Because the landlord has nothing to do with your credit. Dispute the address with Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax . As long as the address gets removed from your credit report the address will be no longer associated to you when your credit is ran 👍 now if you owe the landlord money and have a collection account on your credit that's a different story
@@treadlightly8456 also any public records that are in the court system database are not supposed to be published on your credit report. The court does not verify any information with the credit bureaus , they even have small disclaimers on their website that employers, potential landlords etc. Are not supposed to use the information posted on the courthouse website. If you are ever denied housing for an eviction and your credit report does not show an eviction you can probably sue the apartment complex you applied to live at

I Applied for affordable housing. I live with my friend for 6years. I didn't know that part of the process were I lived have to come out and take pictures of my friend house inside and out. If you sign a lease and less than a month later change your medical insurance company do you have to report that immediately or wait until the recertification? The monthly medical premium will be lower so just wondering and can’t find an answer. I just see must report income changes but not adjusted income deduction changes
i would go ahead and report any changes, just to be on the safe side. these people are always looking for reasons to evict, deny, and take away folks' assistance, literally around the clock. just be on your toes all the time. they think we're tricking the system all the time or something, idk. its crazy to me, considering the system is founded on fraud lmao.
Well its not helping families when vaughan, ontario says u cannot have more than $75,000 in assets! They cut it from 150,000 the point is we want families and people to buy their own home, not get scared and hid their money and feel they can never leave! The rents are so high in the GTA that 75,000 is nothing but 1-2 years worth of living expenses, rents 2000-3000 is insane. Explain how are we to cope without being thrown out? You need to write the developer and provide them with your new address.
You know how I can get a bigger apartment? I’ve been waiting for 8 years and I’m on the waitlist other places. My apartment has mold and leaks.
Keep your application current on all your applications. I waited 18 months for an “okay” apartment, but 24 months later I was offered my present perfect apartment.
Why do they ask for bank statements if the acct is over 5000
If you are a full time student receiving public assistance :cash assistance and snap are you eligible for the apartment ? also if you aren’t receiving any of these benefits and you have a job but you are a part time college student would you qualify ?
I was told that I could never be a full time student, only part time while living there.
Yeah go part time I think section8 you cannot go to college full time and part time.
What if you are having trouble remembering accurate information and you make honest mistakes not fraudulent but 100 % honest mistakes trying to remember accurate information to public housing then what happens?

I do door dash sometimes it be months I don’t dash do I still have to report that income also what about plasma do you have to report that
If you do door dash on and off and that is historically shown on your tax return, then you may have to project in as self-employment income - unless you are able to affirm that you will no longer be earning that income

Seek a housing voucher. From sect 8 or Hud voucher housing.. To pay your balance..
The minimum requirement depends on the apartment complex most times it's 2 to 3.5 times the rent. If you don't make this much you'll need to fill out an affidavit that states someone is going to contribute the missing income so that you are able to pay the required rent amount. If you have kids you could even list child support from their father's. You must show valid proof or have them write a statement and get it notarized.
I don't think it matters ..I know people who pay 125 per rent..montgly

So what happens when u was living in low income housing and left your housing because there was domestic violence and then got approved now for the housing authority public housing what happens if you get into public housing does it effect you if you got evicted because I just left and feared for my life and I didn't tell no one I just left will it effect me in the future with public housing???
I know it was already done, but you did not have to take that route. You were protected under what's called Violence Against Women Act also known as VAWA (look it up). The landlord could've transferred you to another building without you incurring expenses.
If you haven't already done, so please contact the landlord and let them know you left the unit due to DV. Failure to do so will let the billing continue under your name and this can result in a placing you into collections. I will do a video on this tomorrow or Monday.

for the LIHTC program....the maximum rent that is set by this program: WHO DECIDES THESE FIGURES. IS this local or is this Federal. I have been asking now for over a year. and each eprson bounces around..I even wrote to the state tax assessors....just seems like a simple question. Because I'm still waiting on mine that our state keeps on denying me for unknown reasons and I fall under Federal and not state so I'm curious to see because a lot of us haven't gotten anything from our state and when it comes to the self-employed. Recurring gift income is counted as income regardless of the amount.
Housing takes very long!!! I know a person who applied for it years ago and it took them 15 years later to get it. Also, whaT happens if you are still a still but your school is shut down and is waiting for to get accepted to the new school do you still have to provide that part of the information?
it all depends on what state you are applying for some states doesn't take long
Its good to apply in different areas. Michigan and wisconsin I got housing in 5-8 months.

My labor is on the same thing as I am she gets a job making $27 an hour at Amazon and she’s got a handicap daughter at home with her and she pays $40 per month on her rent and that is that that is crazy that is nowhere near what my son gets a with Martha and gets paid every other week. She makes 27 hours an hour and get paid every single week double what my phone get for her rent from the $40 a month that’s crazy.
I think the mayor of New York City should change the law because the income bracket to qualify for those form of housing should be increased because of inflation. People earning less than 100k can’t afford rent in the tri borough

Hi I was wondering if you can assist me , I applied for low income housing 5 years ago , when I applied I applied as head of household, I never received my re/certification to remain on the waiting list , it must of got lost . Now they told me I have to re apply , but a young gentle man was so kind he told me to submit a letter stating that I never receive the re certification letter . And they might re consider , my status has changed , I’m currently unemployed, I recently got married my husband works full time , we don’t have a stable place , please let me know if there is anything you recommend. I was taken off a list as well and i never received a re certification letter nor did they tell me I had to do this until after i was removed every 90 to 120 days
@@sophiacole1992 well thank you for sharing they offered no hope . My husband is sick with cirrhosis of the liver stage 3 and he’s very ill. My daughter who’s 10 lives with us in a tiny room . We share a bathroom with our roommates. They make faces and expect me to clean their house everyday. The room gets very hot and we have no space . We should be miserable but we are still happy.
No one should live like this. We pay $700 for the room plus storage fees .
I don’t wish this lifestyle on anyone it’s unfair but I also believe that we need crisis to shake once in a while. But I’ve been renting this room for 4 years . The lady I live with got very sick . She is against my religion and she defends her own . I try to find common ground but it’s impossible. Logging into my meetings on zoom and being spiritually fed is what has kept me alive 💕

I’m sorry you live in a domestic violence home . I suggest you leave ASAP with a friend or family member . Or ask for emergency housing. Write a letter stating your hardships and I don’t know if you know but if you haven’t been in a lease in the last 2 years your considered homeless . We finally saved up money and raised up our credit scores . We can rent our own apartment, but there is none they are on high demand. For Tax Credit building, yes you can as you would need to meet the income criteria to qualify.
On most sites , Maximum income is always stated but it never states the minimum. Not until they get their application fee, seems calculated to me

So what’s happens when you report you are a full time student? Does it make a difference in your rent ?
You will be evicted. As soon as they find out you will get a 30 day notice. If you became one while living there and they find out later they will still evict a person. Part time and under part time is fine but you can not be a full time student (whatever credits that qualify for full time at your school).
My apartments was doing so much research to see if I was a full time student I wasn’t even part time I was under that due to the amount credits I was taking.

If a person saves up to buy his/her own property, won't that count as an asset that might disqualify him/her?

My friend is being paid "off the books". She isn't being taxed when she is paid. Can she still apply?
Does she file taxes as a self-employed person? If so, then yes she can apply and her income will be calculated as self-employed income.
I am in a affordable housing apartment for 9 months now. It's great! My certification is coming up.. my income is $3000 less the minimum income requirements? What could happen. My self employment (door Dash) and Social Security are my only incomes.
You’re not required to meet the minimum income requirements after moving in.

They will need your pay stubs and usually your stubs will reflect all of that

@@naziiawilson1074 Ok, so your income is gift-income. So say on average your BF gives you $1,000 per month.Then you will times $1,000 X 12 =2,400 and that would be your annual income. Please note that gift income needs to be proven. For example, via bank account, checks, Western Union ETC.
The stimulus or tax refund is not counted as income. So do the maths as shown above for your income and add the amount you get as your income. Once you start working your temp jobs again, then update your profile and add that income.

Hello, all criminal cases must be assessed on a case by case bases, so it is not an automatic rejection. In order to be eligible, your household income must be the income requirement unless you have a qualifying voucher that covers the rental portion.

As longs it does not exceed the maximum income for a household of 4 for the AMI you are applying for as that amount is the asset cap.

Only your current income will be counted. Do you receive Cash assistance from Public Assistance (PA) or do they pay your rent?
So question about food. I know someone received food stamp but at the time when he got approved for housing ( out of state) he transferred his job once then the job didn’t put his paperwork thur well moving to a another where the housing is located so he applied for food stamps later on while waiting he find a job thank 2 month later his job call to work back with them. The question is since he received food now will that affect

To be a eligible Full-time student you must meet one of the below requirement.
A student receiving assistance under Title IV of the Social Security Act (TANF); or
A student who was previously in the foster care program; or
A student enrolled in a job training program receiving assistance under the Job Training Partnership Act or under other Federal, State or local laws; or
The household is comprised of single parents and their children and such parents are not dependents of another individual and such children are not dependents of another individual other than a parent of such children.
