Congrats. So happy the information helps. The timeline to view the unit really depends on the Leasing Team. Currently, I noticed most Leasing Teams are allowing viewing after the file is approved. But again, it really depends on the team. Feel free to ask them when you can view the unit. Also, as a reminder, I highly recommend that you do not sign the lease agreement until you see the actual unit you’re being processed for. Just my recommendation though. Please keep us posted. We are so happy for you.

I left the shelter and now I am again homeless living in my vehicle. @@annamay520 the best advice I can give you is add the housing connect page to your home screen check it frequently and set a 12am alarm daily they add new buildings in the wee hrs of the morning alot like the new Harlem building one east i slept through my alarm last week woke up at 3am saw it and applied it wasn't there before 12am
Hi so update my application was selected for me to submit documents I’ve submitted them, they contacted me again made me sign some affidavits and asked me to bring in a copy of a voucher, the mobility disability letter and sign the last few docs and a credit check. My question is, on the application I did say I receive rental assistance but that’s hra paying $200 of my rent but I currently don’t have a voucher but my daughter does meet the 5% mobility requirements, do you think I will be denied? Your help has got me so far

If you were chosen under disability preference, you not having the voucher would likely not impact you so long as your household meets the income and other eligibility criteria . If you do not receive assistance from anyone outside the household you should not say yes. Please also note that regardless of how much you money you business earns it is still income and will be counted.
Housing connect hasn't contact me at all and I've been applying since 2018 . I followed the guidelines and make sure that I meet all qualifications and still to this day no contact

Applicants are contacted via the order of the log number - with the exception of applicants with preferences. The lower your log number is - the better your chances are.
I had a friend that had a log number in the 9000s and she got called so I don’t think it matters and she got the apartment . They have to select based on certain criteria so it doesn’t matter what your log number is

They split the balance of the account equally and you provide an affidavit stating that the joint accountholder will not be residing in the household. If the monies in the account is entirely yours or entirely the next persons, then a document would need to be provided showing that while the other person name is listed, they do not own the funds in the account. I will do a video on this as well.

Hello, it's your household current income that will be factored. Since Uber is self-employment, documents will be requested for you to affirm that you will no longer be earning that income. Bank statements etc. will still be needed if your household have bank accounts

If you are the one sending money, this will not matter - unless you claim you have zero income yet money is being sent out. If that's the case, then they will have questions - otherwise it would not need to be clarified. They are mainly concerns about incoming recurring deposits
I have a main account that includes a checking and savings ( nothing in the savings ) and another account that’s just a savings which I put money into from my main account. Would they need to see that savings account as well?
All assets must be disclosed to the program - even if there is not money in the account. Once the account is opened, it must be disclosed to the program.

Yes, you need the statement for both. An end of employment verification would be needed, the statements will not suffice. If they are unable to reach your employer, they will permit you to do a self certification affirming that you are no longer employed there.

If you do not renew your lease your subsidy will be terminated and you will be responsible for paying market rent for that apartment, if you do not pay rent the Landlord will terminate your lease, which you don’t want that because even though you don’t live there anymore you still have to pay the amount you owe, and an eviction will be on your background. Every Recertification you always have to provide ALL CURRENT income, including bank statements. The Recertification Clerk should be do third party verifications, if the bank doesn’t provide the clerk with the information then you bring in your current six month bank statements or other bank information. Ask your landlord the dates/ months your bank statements need to state.

Hello, send an email and ask for an update and ask if anything is needed on your end. Put a read receipt on the email to see if it was read. Unfortunately these reviews takes time, but you reaching out shows due diligence. If you do not hear anything back by mid-November - do another email and phone outreach and if there is still no response, reach out to the monitoring agency HDC/HPD.
They should be the one to contact you but to be on the safe side, prior to the date and time noted, contact their offie to confirm. The process has changed so much and every developer handles things differently.

The asset cap is the maximum income for a household of 4 for the tier you are applying for. So as long as your assets does not exceed that - you are good!
They will count a certain percentage of your savings as income. It's really low though; like 2% of your savings account is classed as income, I think, but don't quote me.
The team will review your documents and they will contact you if additional documents are need. If all looks good, they will prepare your documents to be sent to the Agency for approval.
So I was selected and provided all documents. I got an email saying that they reviewed my paperwork and they were doing a criminal and background check. What does this mean in terms of where I am in the process? Also how long will they give me to find a place if I am selected if I am in the middle of a lease.

I have a question if you have a lil small business and you are making money but no much more like a side hustle do you say yes if they ask does anyone outside of household pay for bills or give you money?
If you do not receive assistance from anyone outside the household you should not say yes.
Please also note that regardless of how much you money you business earns it is still income and will be counted.
Housing connect hasn't contact me at all and I've been applying since 2018 . I followed the guidelines and make sure that I meet all qualifications and still to this day no contact

Applicants are contacted via the order of the log number - with the exception of applicants with preferences.
The lower your log number is - the better your chances are.
I had a friend that had a log number in the 9000s and she got called so I don’t think it matters and she got the apartment . They have to select based on certain criteria so it doesn’t matter what your log number is
I was just asked a couple of days ago to submit documents on the housing connect portal or opt to submit in person. I just submitted yesterday. Should I expect a response typically in 7-10 business days?
What if for your assets you have a joint account with someone who won’t be living with you in your apartment?
They split the balance of the account equally and you provide an affidavit stating that the joint accountholder will not be residing in the household.
If the monies in the account is entirely yours or entirely the next persons, then a document would need to be provided showing that while the other person name is listed, they do not own the funds in the account. I will do a video on this as well.

It's usually 30% of your income.

Hi I have a really important question to ask id be really surprised and happy if you end up seeing this.. but I wanted to ask .. my grandma recently got chosen in the 30000 lottery and I have put me my grandma and her my income at the time was roughly around 20k because of Uber but now I no longer work because I will be attending school .. does that mean I have to say I’ll be attending school or do I still have to mark myself as having income and I’d I still have to show my bank statements and such.. does that make my grandma ineligible in any way? Hello, it's your household current income that will be factored. Since Uber is self-employment, documents will be requested for you to affirm that you will no longer be earning that income.
Bank statements etc. will still be needed if your household have bank accounts

Great info ..although I'm dont have no changes of getting an low income apartment . I have a fheps voucher . My application only one time got selected saying how they "found me eligible" i put my documents they asked for. than got a rejection letter on . I stay getting rejections letter. Lol .
You certainly have a change. But you have to believe it can happen for you. I have processed and approved many applicants with the FHEPS vouchers.

What about in your bank statements for cash app if your the one sending money too people will that effect the process?
If you are the one sending money, this will not matter - unless you claim you have zero income yet money is being sent out. If that's the case, then they will have questions - otherwise it would not need to be clarified. They are mainly concerns about incoming recurring deposits
I have a main account that includes a checking and savings ( nothing in the savings ) and another account that’s just a savings which I put money into from my main account. Would they need to see that savings account as well?
All assets must be disclosed to the program - even if there is not money in the account. Once the account is opened, it must be disclosed to the program.

Yes, you need the statement for both. An end of employment verification would be needed, the statements will not suffice. If they are unable to reach your employer, they will permit you to do a self certification affirming that you are no longer employed there.

If you do not renew your lease your subsidy will be terminated and you will be responsible for paying market rent for that apartment, if you do not pay rent the Landlord will terminate your lease, which you don’t want that because even though you don’t live there anymore you still have to pay the amount you owe, and an eviction will be on your background.
Every Recertification you always have to provide ALL CURRENT income, including bank statements. The Recertification Clerk should be do third party verifications, if the bank doesn’t provide the clerk with the information then you bring in your current six month bank statements or other bank information. Ask your landlord the dates/ months your bank statements need to state.

Hello, send an email and ask for an update and ask if anything is needed on your end. Put a read receipt on the email to see if it was read. Unfortunately these reviews takes time, but you reaching out shows due diligence. If you do not hear anything back by mid-November - do another email and phone outreach and if there is still no response, reach out to the monitoring agency HDC/HPD.

They should be the one to contact you but to be on the safe side, prior to the date and time noted, contact their offie to confirm. The process has changed so much and every developer handles things differently.

Hi, do they limit how much money you are allowed to have in your savings?
The asset cap is the maximum income for a household of 4 for the tier you are applying for. So as long as your assets does not exceed that - you are good!
They will count a certain percentage of your savings as income. It's really low though; like 2% of your savings account is classed as income, I think, but don't quote me.

So I was selected and provided all documents. I got an email saying that they reviewed my paperwork and they were doing a criminal and background check. What does this mean in terms of where I am in the process? Also how long will they give me to find a place if I am selected if I am in the middle of a lease.
You will have time because this takes awhile you have many more steps but get all of your paperwork together now
