First time here. I'm confused, last night I talked to section 8 agent in California on behalf of co-worker's mother, she needs affordable housing assistance, section 8 told me there's a long waiting list but the agent also said that if the applicant does not want to wait on a waiting list, she can apply for the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) because there's no waiting list there, they said that is instantly to rent a LIHTC property, and there is no income qualifications. But LIHTC has a super long waiting list too, what am I missing? :(

I do have a question. So I just got approved on a tax credit apartment in Georgia however they passed a law where renters requirements is for the income to be 2x rent. Which you know is still hard to afford anything with half of my monthly income going to rent alone. So how do I save? Also if I got a second job… how would that affect me?

I only worked 4 months last year w2($20,000). If I submit this w2, will they calculate for a year ($60,000), so my income will be qualified?

I have a question about sec 8 housing, would it be a good idea to accept a seasonal role that last 3-6 months? It would put me above my sec 8 voucher income limit when I calculated the monthly pay but it’s not long term.
