Curious to see how the V2s improve things with 30 clicks of adjustment. I'd always see myself unsatisfied and constantly hunt for the right click (12,14,16,15,20,13,23,15, etc.) I'd see myself adjusting them weekly....
This video made me buy these. They are wayyyy to aggressive for the roads in Canada for your daily driver. Gonna replace with f spec or fl. Unless your tracking it, the springs 12k in front are too hard and unforgiving regardless of where you set your damping settings
I have the V1 of these FR-Spec set to 5 from the most comfortable and I get a quite a bit of bouncing. I'm worried I installed these incorrectly now as you and I have had very similar experiences for all other WRX after market parts.
Are you getting any noise with these or did you with the v1s? My v1 FR specs are rattly AF up front. Had them checked out at Racing Trenz and was told quality on these is sub par, but I still am stoked on the way they drive.
How’s the NVH without the rubber top hats??? I almost want to get the fspec because I don’t want a noise cabin. BTW, loved the over the shoulder view! Your car was so flat and planted that I was impressed.
So should the logo on the hat be on the far side near the fender? The instructions are for the V1 when the logo ( on the hat)was closest to the firewall and the camber bolts run parallel to the firewall, but now bolts run parallel and logo is on the side now. Sorry don’t know much about coils, first time doing them on my STI.
With them set to full soft, they're actually still pretty comfortable. That being said, they won't be as comfortable as the other coilovers in their lineup because of the higher spring rates. So it's really up to you!
When installing the bolts back on to the main assembly what torque spec did you do? I just have my oem ones with eibach comp lowering springs which are great but honestly guess on torque putting it back together because I couldn’t figure it out, been driving on them for a year so I did something right but honestly curious if you would know, I want to check them again soon just to make sure everything’s good on them
The top hat nuts torque is 15 if I remember correctly.. The large bolts/nuts that connect the back of the hub to the bottom of the coilover is 129 ft/lb www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=images.rallysportdirect.com/image/upload/s--l2px0IFS--/v1578087751/rsd_instructions/FFA_coilover_instructions.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjan6v10puBAxUgOTQIHYgoA7cQFnoECA8QAQ&usg=AOvVaw1ZDlYu0_C87D6Adfn-uuYg
Yeah, already sold them to a friend. And yes I'm absolutely pushing the car with these new coilovers! Check out the video I posted in the pinned comment above!
I was wondering what the height drop specs are from stock ride height? And what spec are your tires wondering if I can max it out and tuck a bit with 245/40R18 18x9.5 +35
I have 265/35 on 18x9.5 +35, running control arms in the rear. So yeah 245/40 would be easier to tuck with but even with those you'd need to add rear camber to go low and not rub.
Thanks for the review👍 Seeing you had fortune autos and now these faction fabs would you say the faction fabs are comparable in quality as the fortune autos? Looking at getting the FL spec V2 Not tracking my car Thanks
The quality control that Factionfab does is truly amazing so I'd definitely say they're of the same quality. Fortune auto's have some more high tech internals but you wouldn't really feel the difference if you're just driving it on the street
Hello from Colorado too! How is the ride compared to stock? I don't know if I should go with the f spec fl or these the fr. I don't want to drop it to much since I still drive through the snow during winter. But when I am driving street I still want it to be as comfortable as stock.
I think the FL spec would be the best option for you then! They still have adjustable camber plates but the top mount is rubber isolated so they'll be more comfortable than the FR-spec. If you watch Factionfabs latest video they explain the difference between all 3 models and I think the FL spec still allows you to run the car close to stock height.
FYI! If you guys want to see these coilovers in action, check out our video of them on the track! th-cam.com/video/tM0czbj7--Y/w-d-xo.html
Nice video! Are you able to rebuild these coils with different spring rates? Like if you wanted to match 8K Front and Rear.
Possibly, you'd have to custom order new springs for the front!
How are they holding up?

So the 30 clicks is an improvement but they also changed the kind of fluid in the strut and some of the valving tuning as well!

I would definitely go reset your preload! See if that solves the issue.

I've put 1500 miles on them already and haven't had any noises at all!

Nvh is definitely there.. nothing crazy or too obnoxious. I'd actually say they're quieter than the FA 500s which are also full metal tophat plates
So are these better than fortune auto be honest I’m debating spending money on fortune but if I can save money I will

What do you recommend for my situation? I want to go like one or one and a half inch drop and i want to be more comfortable than stock. Thank you
i daily my wrx and do roadtrips, u think coilovers would be okay for this? like more than capable right

Hey love the video. Are you selling your old coilovers? Was just curious. Also is the car doing overall since you are pushing it?
Yeah, already sold them to a friend. And yes I'm absolutely pushing the car with these new coilovers! Check out the video I posted in the pinned comment above!
@@WRXGarage If something happens to your engine you going to go built block?
Most likely, yes! Might try to build it myself, might just buy a block from iag
When they say front left and front right does that mean front right is passenger and front left is driver side?
Yeah!

Can’t wait for your track review of the FR spec coils
It's coming this winter after the last track event!

Bro, I literally just ordered the fr spec 2 days ago. Kinda pissed I didn't know there is a new version
Oh damn :(
good review. im getting these!
🙌🙌🙌
For the record it's damping. Dampening means wetting something. Damping is reducing amplitude.
Otherwise great video.
It’s not that deep 😂😂
no clunking?
Zero clunking so far. I've already put around 2000 miles on them.
I bought Fr v2 and it just destroyed ride quality :(
Did you set the dampening to the minimum amount?
I tried minimum, maximum, middle 😢 on softest setting it starts bouncing
Did you set the preload on the springs?
Yes . Redo it 5 times. 4mm
