Your timing is too far advanced kicking back on the starter. Just subscribed. Ive owned a dozen 55 and 56 fords. I always pulled the Y block and swappeb ib a FE. Mostly 352'S and a couple 390,s. We have a 55 ford Ranch Wagon. and have a 62 -390 TBird engine that we intend to install in it.
What do you do for headers, I have a 55 with a stroked 390 and i'm using a set of old tri-Y headers but they are rough. What can be done with the front end to get more room?
I keep checking to see more video of the 56. When I was dating my wife I drove a Turquoise and white 2 dr Htp. With a tuck and roll interior. Powered by a 352 with a T 10 four speed and a 9 inch rear with 411 gears.
@@TriStarGearhead I think that is a good way of looking at it. It being made nearly 70 years ago. They are definitely a vehicle that's played a major statement in car culture and history. The closest I can get is making good models of them. A friend of mine owns a 2 door ranch wagon variant
What hot start ? You just told everyone..it hadn't been started in a month !!! And you had to prime carb ..if it hadn't been started in a while... But it was hard to start from a hot start...meaning car has already been running before you shot video...Now the problem is ...the time is to advanced .. this happens when car has already been running...

First, thank you for the comment. Second, you are dead on. The timing was WAY advanced and has since been dialed back.

That looks like Glen Rose where you're driving. Just a couple hundred yards from me. Sorry I didn't get to see it in person.

Sorry to see you decided to sell it again😟
Hey Pete...I hated to see it go too but the gentleman who purchased it had one when he was a young man. In a way, I feel as though I "saved" the car.

Is there anything more specific that you can tell me about the history of the car?

That hesitation is a typical elderbrock
I've ran many edelbrocks and never had that issue. I had a 82 f150 with a HOLLEY that had the same hesitation.

Appreciate your input. The timing was indeed to advance. Car was sold over a year ago.
