Nice! looks like old lacquer paint with the cracking going on. body and frame look solid. love the gasser stance and the 4 speed and low gears, I ran 4:88s in mine and love launch you get from them. this will make someone a nice Hot Rod.
YES! That gasser is badasser man...co worker just sold his...gear about the same...that thing screamed at 55. Very cool car Nick...thanks for bearing the cold for this 1.
grew up with those cars still love seeing them , would have loved to see you dump the clutch and grabbed a couple of gears but we all know what that leads to great car!
Most fun you can have under 30K!! So awesome! I would buy one of these gassers just to look at it every day! So cool. My fav would be the Henry J but this is wicked cool as well. Cool build
@@Octane_Rampage_ yep, I can only imagine. I wouldn't have made a great salesman, though. I'd have to light those tires up on every badass one I drove, especially that gasser with the low gears! It would probably smoke em off, for sure!👍😎
Back in 1969 to 72 dad owned a muffler & custom shop in FTWORTH, TEXAS . Use to put straight axles in everything from tri fives to 70 fastback Mustangs . Built custom fenderwell headers for most of them too
I see Coyote Classics doing walk around now (not subscribed). Their walk through seems like they’re trying their hardest to sell you something. Nothing compared to your walk through Mondays. You’re more of showing and letting us know about the cars before any of us gets the chance to call about the classics. And you have the price smack dab on the windshield 😁 Keep up the great work and hopefully one day we can talk business. Love from the Bay Area 😷🤙🏼✌🏼🙏🏼
Oh I always liked the gassers.. this is old school cool. .. like to have this in my shed at home 🏡. And. I would. Change a few little things and then drive
Hey nick just an idea but an adapter plate on the rear carburetor might bring it up just high enough for the air cleaner to clear the hood just so u don't have to keep taking that air cleaner off n on god I love this car ❤️👍
all the years it took to build that car (which I love ) but the s10 steering wheel would be the first to go .thanks guys cool car.sounds like may need some lucas for them solid lifters lol
that was a great eye man, good call. I walked out and looked and it was missing. springs would support it but I just got a new bolt and fixed her up. Nice call
This one was extra entertaining. As it seems lost on some folks that this car is purposely designed for tilling/plowing short garden rows one at a time, asap. Farm Use Only.
Yeah I get it I had a $69 dart it was 11 second car it was street legal and I had a 3800 stall converter and I would drive like 55 mph that was the limit and it was like almost like 5000 RPM I said oh man it was like screaming so I couldn't drive it around that much so I understand but it's still neat keep up the good work fellas
A buddy once had 5:57 gears in his 67 Chevelle. He almost always started in 2nd gear. Seemed a bit much to me. My Mach 1 came with 4:30 gears, that was too much as well, horrible on the highway, lotta fun in town.
@@WisdomOverWicked777Rules Yes they did make them. In fact both Ford and Chevy made them. Mostly used in Drag Racing though, especially the Ford one. Not sure you could factory order one or not but they were available as a special order.
@@WisdomOverWicked777Rules Wow your quite the sourpuss eh. He was running mid 11's actually. At the time it was pretty good for a 302 engine. Speeds achieved these days is not really relevant though is it sir?
That ain't slack it's made to go straight. when you got skinnies on the front fats on the back and she's laid out level like that with two fours you know that you don't pull out in traffic and just go you pull out and traffic wait till it's clear and then you go go go go
your gonna have to pound on it a lot harder than that to make me want to come and maybe buy it. Im not sure it would take a full throttle shift without something snapping.
This car was built for the quarter mile, not cruising. It's beautiful. This takes me back to the Muscle Car "Hay Day" of the mid to late 1960s. Back then, you saw cars like this on the street all the time. Now it so rare to see one, unless your at a vintage car show.
All the bench racers and tire kickers always have to make some kind of negative comment. The truth is there is no way to replicate that car for the price
the car is cool but 350 with no power makes me wonder why they put dual carbs i bet they had a stronger motor in it before and kept it and put this 350 in it nothing wrong with 350 if they are built for a wild car looks like this it needs a wild motor but i do love the car it looked super clean under the car
Rear differential ratio somewhere between 4.11 - 4.88 It’s a gasser drag racing car, and probably had a big block motor at one time...doubt if it would pass state inspection without a front bumper...
It doesn't top out at 55. It's made for the Drag Strip 1/4 mile, not cruising down the freeway. It probably has a top end of about 95 mph or so in a short burst drag race.
Looks nice till you get up close ! A lot of work to strip that down to bare metal and do it right ! Knock that price down But scuff it all over and clear it ! 😳 Rat Rod “56” gasser ! 👍
1955 and 1957 was the best years for the cool looks for the Chevys.
Supposed to ride like that. It’s a gasser! Geared perfect too. Needs more cam!
One of the better test drives I've seen, really gives a good sense of the car.

That 56 is perfect just the way it is ,it would bring a crowd around it at any cruise night and if it could talk I bet it has some great stories .👍
That is true old school muscle. Best days of american history. Cars and music.
Thank you
I wish I would've had a job like he has. Go to work and drive badass cars, every day!👍😎

Sorry back again just seen the underscarriage this is a shade tree mechanic good old boy just set up straight and go nice job whoever did it

The Gassers are the best rides to go about the cars that Chevy bel airs Chevy novas practically any coupes
This car takes me back my 80 when I was in 12 grade riding in my friend's 57 Chevy if I had the money I I take home with a 71 Malibu
Perfect name as it looks like it’s all show and no go. 😉. Am glad to see it is a true straight axle build vs jacked up with A arms.
Surprised Hush Thrush mufflers still on it as they've been out of production for years! Nice ride there!

Straight axles always had a little slop in the steering ...
Man I love that glasser the color is so beautiful and very amazing but most of all I love that's it's a 4 speed
Love your hustle .
You must love ur job I’d drive these all day and want nothing per hour

If I hit the lottery I'd be on the phone Nick. Badass

OMG..if I win the 50 million in Canada this week I m coming to get it..what a fun light jumper...so coooool
What a bummer, to have to go to work everyday and drive Hot Rods, Lol. I Love these vidios.
Amazing looking car wow thanks Nick have a very nice day mate
Rear drivers side shock has a bolt that’s about to fall out.
that was a great eye man, good call. I walked out and looked and it was missing. springs would support it but I just got a new bolt and fixed her up. Nice call
That was a good call, had to go back and pause it to check it out.
love that car man its cool. i also loved the general lee you guys had
Add up tax, tag, and title, shipping costs, over $32,000. For $5000 more you can get way more of a car than that, something from the 60's.
Wow!!!!! hush thrush,,,,, didn't know they still made them mufflers, cool
I don't know about that one but I always enjoy the ride thanks for sharing your videos!
Thanks for watching!

Listening to the sound, probably 4:56 gears in it.
Solid lifters?
Needs some fender well headers! Love it though!
That would be cool!
I been waiting to see this test drive, an it was worth it.just amazing. Love the music to.
Thank you
Old school but still cool!
Cool looking car....motor sounds like it don't have too many more trips around the block left in it!!
IF YOU CAN SEE THE ENGINE WHILE THE HOODS ON OR CLOSED YOU KNOW ITS GONNA BE FAST
Gassers are cool n popular my friend had a Ford falcon gasser
Good job as always Nick!
✌💛🤘
That car is a beast! That would be one heckuva daily driver!
Way groovy gaser but that loose rocker arm would drive me nutts love to have it be fun to go to sonic on weekends
It’s a street freak no radious in the rear render wells it looks like a 4 by 4
Nothin like a straight axle shoe box gasser...
Waiting on my lottery win. I'll have it shipped to Ontario.Gassers Rule..specially with three pedals.Take ur automatic and Stick it !!!.jmo
Building one of these would be my dream, slap a two speed in it and run quarters
That ain't slack it's made to go straight. when you got skinnies on the front fats on the back and she's laid out level like that with two fours you know that you don't pull out in traffic and just go you pull out and traffic wait till it's clear and then you go go go go
So it’s set up for 1/8 mile?
@Maple Motors Muscle Cars Nick Southgate that car is sweet and so awesome..love your channel bro
Is that a header gasket leak or a lifter ticking?
I say probably exhaust leak
That's a lifter. No doubt.
That’s a cam gear drive set up, instead of a chain
@@kevinnobody3052 Lifters clap at a high rate like a loose rocker arm, they don't sound like gear drives.
@@Sandman1832 whatever you wanna believe. Good thing I won't ever need you to work on anything of mine 😉
Nice looking solid lifters sound good but those gears are way to low!!
Damn sure ain't a rose but a hell of a daisy
Sorry had to come back normal driving????!!! Hilarious she made for nothing but straight run and it's laid out nice
Needs brake hoses, a lifter and steering work then should be good to go. Real eye catcher for cruising around town.
ole solid lifters will always make that noise
It's "SHOW TIME"

@Buddy Wiser it can be on a small block too if it’s a fully built motor but the one in this video didn’t seem like a great choice.
Rear differential ratio somewhere between 4.11 - 4.88 It’s a gasser drag racing car, and probably had a big block motor at one time...doubt if it would pass state inspection without a front bumper...
Also tailpipes cut short midway under car.
Dang you have a hard job, I envy you. Clutch looks likes it catches at the top?
I see the green C3 Corvette on the lot; can you provide the year, engine, trans, and price on it?
I would buy this car instead of a new car that cost the same.
I agree with you.
That thing's got a hell of a lot of lifter noise And I don't think the fuel filter is supposed to be dangling and swinging
solid lifters tend to make that noise
When are you going to have a 1958 Plymouth fury 2 door Or a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door That’s the kind of car I would want to buy from you
just listened to your music . sounds good. wasnt expecting that from a car salesman. LOL
Thanks
Works for the city
I dont understand. Are gassers made by chevy or do people who buy the 55 bel air make them
people turn the cars into gassers...willys anglias, bel airs etc. any car could be turned to one
@Buddy Wiser so people make them, not the company
Do you guys fix stuff like horns and signals. Federal law states if you sell a vehicle from a business those things better work
No we just buy and sell
How does it corner?
At least on the undercarriage shots, you don't have to worry about the car being too low and hanging up the camera LOL
What's the padlock and chain for? Undercarriage, front driver side.
To keep people from pulling the hood up on that air cleaner
Lifters ticking a bit , may need some Lucas In there .
That car looks like it should have Pantera playing in the background.
$100 bucks short of 27 thow doesnt seem bad for what youre gettin
Cool car. But top out at 55 I will pass
You can't swap out that pumpkin within an hour . I had five different sets for mine back in the 60s early 70s

Hi Nick, yeah yeah I know I'll get the soup going....but a gasser is also a silent fart.....
Def has some gas lol
Is that a Saginaw or Muncie? Any idea of the rear end gears?
My guess would be 456 gears. That's about the same way my Nova was
Really ?, paint only half the drive line ?
Where's the bumper
Needs wider rear tires.....Beautiful car
Man thats TOO cool
Cool car needs bigger Meats on the back though
