Great work , my Santa fee witch had an ERG PLAY UP around 60k miles , £750 by main dealer , 6 months out of warranty . The 09 plate one before had no problems , sold at 124 k only problem anti roll bar bushes replaced under warranty and a clutch slave cylinder in the bell housing , ouch that hurt after 5 years . Every thing is over engineered these days .👍Looking for a Donkey , now retired , part time work around Xmas and could eat it ? if times get hard . 🤔
I've cleaned intake manifold and EGR on my I30 1.6 Crdi 2016 at 64K. Painful job, much less space in engine compartment, had to get underneath to remove intercooler pipe. Changed injector copper washers as well. Even to change diesel filter is awkward. Car is now on 92K and I'm getting around 70MPG, mostly commuting/cruising 65 MPH. Great little car for going up and down when maintained properly.
Now fitting NOX sensors almost daily, B M's , Mercs, Ford , Peugeot . The Ford guy even suggested that these are" becoming " a service item at 80,000 miles.... Blocked Egr coolers and failing valves commonplace. Prices are stupid , these are being knocked out by the thousand.
Those canters aren't a patch on the old ones. I've used canters since the late 90's when apart from no leg room and concrete suspension they were bomb proof. These days they suffer with adblue issues, autobox issues etc. I'm guessing this is baby canter?
Pleasure to watch someone who knows what they are doing and cares about how andwhat he does, how does your Topdon hold up to the introduction of security module to stop some service functions on latest Fiat and VW Audi systems Ryan.
Had to replace just the EGR cooler on a nearly new crash damaged Kia Sedona with D4HB engine a while ago. That little thing cost £800, years ago! I would have put a second hand one on but there weren't any available at the time 😒
Very random, but have you ever thought of getting a bigger van and building out a garage area with a bit of a rest area? I've seen some mechanic vans with a cleaning area etc. Your van looks really well done on the inside.
I have though about it but i enjoy being oit on the road, The problem with bigger vans is i find most new vans are very unreliable engine mechanical and electrical wise.
yeah i had a mechanic tell me the egr cooler needed replacing because turbo was whistling lol had nothing to do with egr valve was just a crack in thin hose lol £5 fix most are not really mechanics just part fitters 🤣
So sounds like your all singing and dancing Topdon Pheonix Xlink has gone duff, as you have rolled out the Topdon Phenix Plus older model. How is Topdon customer service on repairs to their scan tools? Always good to have a backup tool to hand, when technology goes belly up on you out on a job :)
Can I ask where you suggest to get the leads you used in the first part of the video where you can piggyback and again a great informative video cheers
You can buy cheaper test leads online and most decade boxes are cheap from ebay etc The leads used here are from Aeswave, Mega expensive but it is a great kit
Excellent analysis, thanks! 👌 I wanted to ask something unrelated: 🤔 I have these words 🤨. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). What is this? 🤔
Had a customer with a BMW needed NOX sensor .Did not want to pay the £500.00 BMW price. Got one on E-Bay only £150.00 it looked the real thing worked for 6 weeks. Then had to go to BMW and buy the correct one. Beware E-Bay and Amazon.
Similar thing with cheap ABS sensors. Had to buy a couple for a 17 plate passat, a VW tech I know told me not to get pattern ones, his words, you may as well put it straight in the bin.🤣
kia rio needed a O ring for camshaft sensor - £102 with sensor - err no.... i want just the O ring, 'can only order in pack of x5 ' cant order 1 - o.k will buy 5, cost less than £5 for pack, when came in they sold me 2 for £0.96p each STEALERS for you
I just had to spend £420 on a ford nox sensor for my van. Looked like water damage on the module side of the old sensor, the should make them water proof for the price of them.
I've replaced 4 or 5 Nox sensors in the last 6 months. Now it's a spate of blocked Adblue injectors all crystalled up, people need to learn not to buy cheap Adblue and to store it in cool, shaded conditions. Never buy off petrol station forecourts where it sits outside in the sunshine, it decreases the effectiveness of the fluid and it crystallises rapidly causing issues.

£520 for an EGR valve and they don't supply a gasket? That's adding insult to injury! The prices for these Korean cars are absolutely ridiculous.
Alot of the stuff i price up for these is around that price or above 😳
Hi ! It's normal ,often the customer is willing to pay for the part, but not the labor .
Hello from France. @@mrautoservices7354
Try buying stuff for Volkswagens. Absolutely disgraceful pricing and everything priced separately.

Keep up the good work really enjoying every video learning a lot
Thanks Evan i appreciate the feedback 👍👍
Fantastic work Ryan!! "Thanks for sharing" We❤ It 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Ryan, pays to shop around with those main steelers, and without a gasket, really is daylight robery. Takes the pics.👍

these modern turbo fitted gasoline engines are same complex like a modern diesel... but even more expensive to repair crazy...
Excellent as always Ryan.. £520 and no gasket.. They're taking the piss !
Agreed 🥲👍👍
@@mrautoservices7354 The EGR valve on Autodoc for the 2L seems to be £118 ? Admittedly a non-OEM brand Herth and Buss
Thanks Ryan that was very informative- really scary prices for parts these days. That Mitsubishi needs a good jet wash- on the inside.😉
As always, great video Scottie.
It was nice of the Canter owner to clean the cab up so you didn't have to work in a sh**hole.
Always find KIA Hyundai parts are absolutely insane price wise, Really don't rate them very highly as long term ownership vehicles.
Nonsense you just need to know were to look.

Great video Ryan. Thanks very much bud
Some how ,I think that I would be more confident in a Bosch part made by Mitsubishi then a Bosch built item .
Good tip about 5v reference 👍
Thanks Sandy 👍👍
