@@mrautoservices7354 thanks for replying. If it’s not too much to ask can u make a video just diagnosing with the test bulb more in-depth? I would truly appreciate it.
@@mrautoservices7354 I got a question for u I have a n20 engine with a bad eccentric shaft it’s seems seized won’t budge can I manually turn the engine at the crankshaft to get the valves to close so I can start the engine and just keep the valvetronic motor disconnected. The eccentric shaft won’t let the engine start being to valves in the open position.
It's hard to find an 'honest bod' weilding spanners, but you sir have broken the mold and saying how it is savable when others could'nt be bothered and just said scrap it. Good luck for the future!
Absolutely top man sorting that BMW. Saved the owner a fortune in scrapping the car. I'll keep you in mind if anything needed for my BMW as you are only a few miles away in Rutherglen.
Very well done, it’s great to see a young bloke working hard and doing a very good job. You have good skills and knowledge and are not afraid to buy the tools you need. You can’t play at diagnostics you invest in knowledge and tools or you fail. Well done again
Just found your channel and subscribed. Its so nice to see someone doing proper diagnosing and fault finding leading to a proper repair rather then the usual route of replacing parts and hoping for the best.
It is scary how poorly so many mechanics are now. I had a bad vibration in my 1990 Volvo 240 estate. One shop could not diagnose. Another got it right, but could not install a U joint correctly.
Been watching south main auto for years and always wished we had someone like that in my area, wish i found you earlier as i wouldn't have had to trade in my merc b class as garages couldn't fix it, having someone like you in my area makes me feel very privileged, just wished we had more technicians like you out there, well done on finding the problem to this one as it wasn't an easy one.
That FRM is a pain in the arse. Hard to even reconnect the battery on a 3 series without it turning it into a Christmas tree. Had to have mine redone twice. If you read this Ryan. How do you prevent heavy sparking on the negative post? Ignition off all switches off but still happens.
Subscribed a few videos ago, top marks pup.👋 Great methodical working, and love how you found the wiring diagrams. I've been trying to get some for a Renault Espace iV to sort out a few electrical niggles. Again well done again.
👍🏻FRM3 eeprom is repaired via extracting the data flash partition from the processor and creating a a new config for the eep partition in the microcontroller via the data read from the Dflash section. For many years i had to do this manually but now many tools automatically do this, they partition the processor and read write automatically the repair. If your car contains an FRM2 then this repair is different and requires a data set from another vehicle, finished on the car via coding with an appropriate tool (i.e k+can with appropriate Sw)
Fantastic piece of work Ryan.. I do wonder about the training 'technicians' get at main dealers .. I think there may be a bit of 'brand' indoctrination going on that causes a bias about how good their brand is compared with others. Cars are cars, even Rolls Royce's go wrong, (regularly from my experience in the 1970's.)
The point about voltage is a good one its like a ghost voltage its there but its not and has caught me out loads of times as a chap once told me nine times out of ten it's a bad connection check the basics first 🙂
I’ve been looking for someone like you for years. My e61 hasn’t run since green flag rescued me over a faulty alternator. It’s currently been at bmw for 2.5 years.
excellent! Where do you get the EEPROM codes? Does it come together with the Purchased software/Hardware? It must be a large database for all kind of vehicles....
Footwell module, They go corrupt when the battery is low or completely discharged. Once corrupted they will sometimes loose communication & body electrical functions lights windows etc👍
Hello, quick question, how to get hella licence? There is no info about it. How to register for it and how much is monthly or annually subscription costs? Thanks
Do you get many electric faults on the BMW 3 series as it's a very low car tax bracket in 2.0l d automatic at about year 2013 and impressive mpg and I was mulling getting one?
The big issue with BMWs is the service interval being too large. I have 2 and had to put an engine into one about 7 years ago as the oil was only changed every 20k miles or so and the cars computer and garage said all was okay until it wasn’t.
The kind of mechanic which knows how to diagnose and fix, not just change parts and guess.
Proper mechanic not a parts changer well done 👍
Thanks Dean for watching

Jez, I watch a lot of car repair videos...this was something else..brilliant!
The dealers quoted me 1000 euro to replace the footwell module on my e90, I got it done for 250. Charge well as you can fix what very few can.
Fantastic work ethic, and seriously good knowledge of what you’re doing…top job.👍👌

I really enjoy your logical process - and your Scottish accent ! My Mum was from Uddingston
Superb diagnosis and troubleshooting. Great to see that you didn't resort to the parts cannon as many do!

Excellent fault finding Chap, more power to you !
Good job hope you get more work mate an honest technician

Very nice bit of fault finding and repair, such a pity so many mechanics can't do this as they've got so used to just swapping things out.
