Hi Ryan. I made a mistake years ago with an amp clamp whilst looking for a drain on an old Jaguar ( battery on n/s bulkhead). After pulling all the fuses I still had a 2 amp drain, then realised the body of the amp clamp was resting up against the wiper motor. The amp clamp was picking up the magnetic field of the wiper motor and showing it as a 2 amp drain 😊. Great channel, keep up the good work and more important stay safe and warm in this ‘orrible weather.
Great video as always, I did a similar thing, alternator voltage was around 12v so replaced the alternator.........twice!! Before I did a loop test on the earth circuit and found the clutch had been replaced and the earth lead had not been fitted to the bell housing!!!! Exactly as you say, check the basics first.......

great video Ryan had same problem on my wives vauxhall grandland with the clip on battery post had fault automatic brake system fault checked forum and they advised battery issue -replace but had been replaced year before so replaced under warranty and checked errors with topdon arti diag 800BT could not cleared 6x faults so tried to book into garage but could only take me 1x week later so called the AA and they found the positive battery clamp loose horrible french clamp and they could clear all the codes with their hardware that was 1x week ago and ok now dont know if the loose battery post was the reason my topdon could not clear the codes but i,m sure there is codes on the ECM but not on the dash
It's even minus 1 degree here in Devon, so lord knows how cold it was where you are ? It's nice to know that the old fashioned faults are still applicable with these whizzy modern cars 😅.. I felt sorry for your customer who got royally ripped off with the new alternator.. Unfortunately these practices by some garages are not a new phenomenon. Stay warm Ryan.. 🔥
Cracking video Ryan Twas -3 in North Yorkshire this morning and we don’t have heating in the garage 🥶but worse for you. Nice explanation re Lin Bus. Why do people take their cars to a retail store for repairs 🤷♂️instead of a reputable mechanic?
Amp clamps are good for single wires, but get a battery with multiple wires or wiring running very close and tight where u struggle to get around the wires is pain
Use a electrical extension and a hairdryer, leave it in the car on hot running , half n hour before you go out ,windows defrosted , drive off instantly, no need for warming the engine up
Brother has a company van that has device on that allows him to start the van then remove the keys and lock the vehicle, and if anyone tries to steal with engine running as soon as handbrake is released with no keys engine cuts out, perfect device for winter,
