I think if you didnt connect the battery maintainer, it still would have been a crank no start. Notice the fault return once you put the maintainer away .The extra power worked against you there . Leave it in the van untill it needs it . Good looking tool mind , looks capable, wish I had one .
one of those nightmare cars . tricky indeed when they have been modified. generally find you just have to go through your normal process and logical deduction and try not to go down the “i bet it’s that “ rabbit hole that charger is very cool mate 👍
What kind and size of inverter you use on your work car? And how many batteries on it, if can feed that topdon charger too. Nice job 👌 you have very hi-quality tools, and you can use your head too. Tools without sharp head are useless.
This is why I don't buy BMWs, they've nearly always been owned by complete tools by the time they're a few years old. Come across this type of thing multiple times with older beamers.
Customer had a bunch of spare relays from other cars 👍 Just popped a known good one in Not sure if the main relay is a common concern but it might be 👍👍
Nice job . I have a similar situation with my Skoda 1.9pd few cranks starts but cuts out . On the flip side first crank it don’t cut out ( crank shaft sensor changed, coolant sensor changed, fuel filter changed,, next throttlebody so hopefully this works ) is there anything else to check?????
Customers who modify and use aftermarket kit usually end in tears in my experience, but each to their own choices
