      It does, and I found the best method to freeze the image was to squeeze the buttons from the sides, to hopefully avoid moving it off-zero. But you can freeze/unfreeze as much as you like till you're happy.

    Hi Russ. Quick question. Have you tried protected 18650 in the Pards. The protected are 70mm vs the non protected 65mm. Will the pard take the longer/protected batteries?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Fabian nope the PARDs don't take the longer (pinhead) batteries, only the shorter flat-tops, but they have inbuilt protection anyway so it's ok. 👍🏻
      Cheers. Russ

    A question, sir. At different times, it automatically adjusts the point of impact itself? Which model do you recommend for the PCP rifle, 4k or pard008?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, no the Pard doesn't (yet) have automatic trajectory compensation, or 'bullet drop compensation' (BDC - though I'm hoping it's not too far away on a future firmware update.
      I absolutely love my Pard008LRF and the on board/on-screen LRF really is invaluable for pest control... saying that I'm hoping to test and review a 4k day/night scope soon (either the Sightmark Wraith 4K Max or the newer Wulf), but though neither has a built-in LRF, an external Picatinny LE-032 LRF can be used with both, as can an external add-on IR source.
      Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

    Hi nice bit of kit . Could I also use this at the range for targets? An if so what sort of distance

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep indeedy. 👍
      You have to be realistic and don't expect to see .17" holes at really long ranges, but I've used both .177" & .22" air rifles for 50m target shooting.
      If you're on the range and don't need the LRF function, maybe the new Sightmark Wraith 4K could provide better magnification for long range use?

    Great stuff once again Russ! How long does the battery last on these? I assume using rf will drain more. Also is there any alternative batterys/packs available?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank-you Chris. Nope Bruce has analysed the power drain of all the functions and the LRF effect is negligible. The IR is the main drain, so max level drains it the fastest, but the 18650 batteries are so cheap and compact having a couple of spares is easy. Cheers. Russ
      Full battery drain info is here from a post by Bruce on the NV forum (though this was running firmware v1.24), v1.25 offers slightly more powerful IR on #2 & #3: www.nightvisionforumuk.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21006&start=20#p164453

      Hi Dave, yes the yellow box is effectively the centre of the vertical 'splash' of IR from the LRF, but you'll soon see that from the final instalment of our review... coming soon. 👍🏻
      It has to be this way as the LRF module is fixed within the outer body, but the reticle obviously moves during zeroing.

    Hi.
    I need your help.
    Buy on Ebay the PARD NV008 and PARD NV007.
    Excellent night vision scope ....
    My question is there a new version of firmware for the PARD NV008 and NV007 PARD.
    THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marcello There is an uploadable file that reinstates the 008 firmware if the menu button freezes (a bug that strikes if you remove the battery or let it power-down while it's switched-on), and the 008LRF firmware is backward-compatible with the 008 at your own risk (to offer the PiP function, five different reticles and five savable profiles). I'm not sure about the 007...
      For all of this visit www.CustomRifleScopes.com and contact Ash - they're PARD's registered UK service agent.
      Good luck, cheers. Russ

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Morning dusty, that's one function I forgot it has, because I never use it.
      With the gyro enabled there's an onscreen indicator of your angle of left-right tilt (i.e. cant) and inclination (aiming high or low); but it's a very course indicator and no use for us shooters IMHO.
      ...oh and I just had a look at one of my two 008LRFs and I can't even find the gyro function.

    Has anyone tuned the reticle box to the IR splash? You won't coincide with readout uless this is done.

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep I hope everyone does this (I've covered it in more than one of my videos), but remember the LRF splash is only perfectly aligned at one distance (e.g. for me I zero @30m for non-FAC & @50m for FAC, so I align the LRF box to suit). Usually further away the splash is slightly to the left- and closer-in the splash is slightly right- of the aiming box.
