THANK YOU FOR GIVING THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR MOVIE THE PRAISE IT DESERVERS i have a soft spot for this movie 'cause I used to watch this like all the time when I was little but it's just genuinely a really fun time and I wish it wasn't so overlooked
"The Penguins of Madagascar" series was responsible for the penguins becoming the icons they are today since it was the one that created the personality and traits that everyone recognizes on them. Before that they all had more or less the same personality with the exception of Skipper who was the leader and practically the only one with any distinction.
Yeah, and I also think it was pretty much responsible for the Modern Nickelodeon that was booming in the 2010s. But despite all that, the show was still good.
No, the first Madagascar shows them doing a full on mission on the ship. Skipper is the captain, kowalski is tactical brain, rico is equipment, and private is comedic relief this was adapted to the show bc it was successful, it wasn’t the show making it
@@neveragainlilhomie It was in fact the show that made them who they are. A lot of the traits the Penguins have in their show, gets carried over to them in the last two Madagascar movies as well as the tv specials set between the movies. In The first two movies, they were kind of just a basic military unit. The Penguins of Madagascar series helped gave the Penguins their own distinct personalities. Dreamworks' Dragons is so underrated, all the character development adds so much to films to the point where it would feel weird watching them without knowing what happened in the series
Homes, captain underpants, turbo, the crood, mr. Peabody and Sherman, trolls, puss and boots and etc are shows I used to watch a lot due to it being on Netflix. Back in like 2015-2019 or something.
I was legit, a bit disappointed he didn't talk about the Captain Underpants show. The tone is immaculate even if it does make me feel so bloody old for cringing at it half the time
@@munchrai6396 I mean, if anything, I love how it translates the formula of Captain Underpants books to a TV formula. Quick, snappy, and they even have Flip-o-rama. I also love how it doesn't just try to be a one-to-one recreation of Dav Pilkey's style, and they elevate a lot of the elements that the Dreamworks movie had. It felt more like a TV show for the Dreamworks movie, and not the books, and its not actually bad at doing that.

Somebody needs to make a full retrospective on the Monsters Vs Aliens show. Its existence and concept is as much of a fever dream as watching the show itself.
My opinion: the comedy is cringe, the writing is poor, the lore is underwhelming to underrealised. It's going through the motions. It feels low budget even for its time. The characters are 1 dimensional, flanderized, and/or annoying.
The closest I will ever get to watching Megamind Rules is through watching Shaffrillas Production's 2 videos on it (3 including the one on the dumpster fire I refuse to call a "sequel") Honestly, the crab man's arc of going from yelling about the funny dehydration gun to not being as mad and not feigning it for content when the show at least tries a little in its second half to be something more than utter trash is probably done 10 times better than anything that show could offer me by itself.
The how to train your dragon shows will hold a special place in my heart. All the dragons that they introduced were peak and the shows( besides the nine realms) are peak

13:02 An opinion from someone who has watched the show. It's pretty like the first movie. There are some differences of course: the imagination scenes take a sabbatical year, the parents are a lot less influential (not like they are not there, but they are much less relevant plot wise), and they add more details about the hierarchy of baby corp. But the humor hasn't changed much (for better or for worse), the characters stay in character (with the exception of Stacy, which has become a murderous pseudo special agent for some reason), and the art style, even thought it has less budget, holds up relatively well. It's not very good, again, it's like the first movie, but I wanna give it some props. First of all, for some strange reason the opening goes kinda hard. The lyrics are dumb, but it has something that I don't understand, but that I like. Second, it explores some interesting concepts regarding the world building. We explore different branches of the corporation like investigation and resource management, or that puppies are not the only foes. The main antagonist of the first season is a man raised by cats, while in the second season the babies fight the elderly for attention, which I think it's a fun concept. All and all, you are not missing much if you don't watch it, but if your kid liked the first one you are going to have a better time with this one than with the second movie, which is kinda depressing. Also, side note, Why are the openings of DreamWorks such bangers? Penguins of Madagascar theme is catchy as hell, boss baby and legends of awesomeness, while not that great, are quite catchy, and even megamind rule's is top notch. The heck?
Thank god I'm not the only one who thinks the Boss Baby Back in Business intro is kind of a banger. That shit got in my head and I've been ashamed to admit it.
10:14 Can I just say though. That the Puss In Boots tv show has the most based ending you could give a show like this. Without saying too much. Basically, Puss causes the apocalypse & him & his non canon gf are the only ones who remember it happening.
I remember watching Riders of Berk religiously when it premiered on tv And discovering & watching Race to the Edge felt transcendental Another reason why the Dragons series is consistently one of Dreamworks best franchises EVER

Out of all the Dreamworks spin off shows the only ones I liked were The penguins of Madagascar,Dragons Netflix series and Kung fu panda legends of awsomeness (Mainly because it had one heck of a catchy theme song)
the monsters vs aliens series had no business being as good as it is but it is honestly as peak as the movie, meaning it is peak (controversial opinion ik)
Man,I've watched a 5 hour video ranking every Family Guy episode and a 6 hour video ranking every Simpsons episode. You can't possibly disrespect my time more than I already have
I'm sad he didn't talk about the Epic tales of Captain Underpants because that show is just "so good." If you watched the show you'd get the reference. But I guess it falls under the "original programming" category because it's a different universe than the movie. Also, I've actually seen a lot of these shows. And finished most of them. Granted it was a while ago so I don't remember much of what happened in them but I've seen Race to the Edge, The adventures of Tip and Oh, The adventures of Puss in Boots, Turbo Fast and... The Boss Baby show. I have regrets. It's surreal to see these shows I've seen that no one talks about being discussed by a big youtuber.
I've watched the Puss in Boots show all the way through about 5 different times now. It ends with (almost) everything getting retconned. It was fun though.
I'd honestly be down for a Cartoonshi video discussing DreamWorks' original shows. Trollhunters, Kipo and She-Ra (to name a few) are generally considered some of the most original and highly rated animated shows the studio has made in recent memory, and they're probably more fun to talk about than tv spinoff slop number 784.
I'm surprised Cartoonshi didn't release a video on his thoughts about the Live action Halloween Loud House movie and how the live action series was just confirmed to have been cancelled.
I hope he covers Dreamworks' originals some day. I know Trollhunters is the show everyone thinks of... But JW Camp Cretaceous, and ESPECIALLY Chaos Theory is surprisingly pretty dang amazing imo (and even pretty dark when talking about Chaos theory season 2) I'm kinda surprised seeing nobody talk about it, shame its so overlooked.
The camp cretaceous shows are awesome. Seriously why don't people talk about them? Also it's amazing to me that in the first Camp Cretaceous show Jenna Ortega voiced Brooklyn.
New Conspiracy: DreamWorks dropped Megamind 2 in order to stop the "Disney Bad DreamWorks Good" memes from people who haven't watched a single animated movie in like a decade beforehand.
Honestly after the theory that the Vaporeon copypasta was made by a Game Freak employee seemed to have been validated by judging the Pokémon leaks, anything is possible.
@@TheDigitalApple I still highly doubt that, bc it seems like that theory's underestimating how depraved 4Channers are. There's unfortunately plenty of copypastas online just like it.
Not to long ago I watched Jurassic World Chaos Theory season 2 and that and it's sister series camp Cretaceous are actually really good. It's weird that this is leauges better than the newer movies.
Theiy're both so good and better than the JW trilogy it's actually quite shocking, they even became comfort shows for my sis who usually gets bored with animated shows
I actually had complete opposite reaction to the Home and Turbo shows. I saw them both when I was a kid, I was 11 when Turbo: F.A.S.T. came out, and 14 when Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh came out. Home was the one I remember being super annoyed by and thought was nothing by mindless slop, and Turbo was the one I actually watching on a regular basis. I thought it was pretty funny.
I was thinking of commenting this video idea on shaffs channel but then thought it would be a really ludicrous request since there was so much content. Good looking out toonshi
4:00 I actually do recall a gripe I had with this masterpiece of a show, that being that one episode with the annoying walrus that was Marlene's roommate. Idc if she was a spy, her presence disgusted me as a child, and to this day, I still recall the offkey 'take me out to the ball game' bs
I was a massive consumer of Turbo FAST and I remember it actually being pretty good especially in the later seasons. The animation is incredible! I also really liked Home Show. I did not watch either movie and that was definitely for the best. I have memories of Penguins and Legends of Awesomeness. Penguins didn’t stick with me very well and I most vividly remember Legends for its weird animation. Also I watched so much of the show All Hail King Julien and the lengths they took the show’s premise are INSANE.
Good to see The Penguins of Madagascar still being well received in its original form In Poland it's seen as comedy gold because of the absolute peak translations but I have never seen the original glad it still holds up
Some shows not mentioned here that I have thoughts on: All Hail King Julien Peak fiction. In retrospect, it's shockingly mature and funny, and some of the later character arcs go insanely hard for no reason at all. Mort did NOT need lore but he got it and it's insane. Also, there was an episode about building a wall to keep immigrants out of the country before 2016 and I find that funny. The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants Also peak fiction. Somehow anything with Captain Underpants in it is destined to be peak, it seems. It's also ridiculously funny, and scratches that same itch the original Captain Underpants books did for me as a kid. This show makes me sad we never got a Captain Underpants: The Second Epic Movie. Spirit: Riding Free All I ever heard about this show was how much fans of the original movie hated it, but I don't really agree with the criticism. They're so different, comparing one to the other is unproductive in my opinion. Aside from that, it's kinda mid. It's got a satisfying overarching story and some nice moments, but other than that, the main thing I like about it is the theme song.
I saw someone with a tattoo of Dave from the penguins movie and telling her it was sick while she was so excited I knew who Dave was was one of the most wholesome moments of my life dude
"Oh! It's How to Drain Your Dragon: The Nine Realms! I've seen videos talking about how bad it is on my Home page before. I'm sure it's not that bad though, come on, how bad could iiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIIIS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING _HELICOPTER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"_
8:44 the character's designs look like they belong in Malicious ladybug. Speaking of which, hows the process of that video been going? you think it'll be finish within the end of this year? and yes, I am interest in more DreamWorks TV Shows, I really want to hear you talk about Captain Underpants for how much the movie really encapsulates the Book's whimsy.
Penguins of Madagascar is definitely a show I desperately need to rewatched, had been because it’s soooo funny and nostalgic to me. Kung Fu Panda Legend of Awesomeness is also another one I’m nostgaic for too, but not as good.

Penguins of Madagascar was pretty solid from what I recall of it. It was Nickolean's Teen Titans Go which I mean in the best possible way
2:38 oh nah thath was wayy outta pocket bro 💀💀💀
It really was, just like the attack 💀
Man, The Penguin’s Show is absolute PEAK!
I grew up with most of these shows and this video just unlocked multiple core memories for me
Out of all the Dreamworks spin off shows the only ones I liked were The penguins of Madagascar,Dragons Netflix series and Kung fu panda legends of awsomeness (Mainly because it had one heck of a catchy theme song)
the monsters vs aliens series had no business being as good as it is but it is honestly as peak as the movie, meaning it is peak (controversial opinion ik)
This is a fun coincidence. I just rewatched your Megamind "2" video last night lol
I think Penguins benefits from the movies having pretty simple designs so it doesn’t feel like much of a downgrade in animation like other series
Exactly. And the stories and writing are good.
Man,I've watched a 5 hour video ranking every Family Guy episode and a 6 hour video ranking every Simpsons episode. You can't possibly disrespect my time more than I already have
legends of awesomeness slander will not be tolerated
Penguins of Madagascar was peak
It was fantastic 💯💯💯
4:04: Why exactly would an ace care about that?
THE ONE PEIICEE THE ONE PEICE IS REEAAALLLL!!!!!!!! CAN WE GET MUSCH HIGHER SO HIGGGH
Ace??? Persona 3 FES reference???
My thoughts exactly.
just like All Hail King Julien
My exact thoughts on that show.
We can all agree that Trollhunters is peak fiction, even if the other Dreamworks shows are the definition of horseshit
YES
Trollhunters is well... my absolute favorite thing that comes out of dreamworks
All Hail King Julien? Kipo and the age of Wonder beasts?
You can't deny that the Legends of Awesomeness intro slaps AF.
"Here are the legends of the Kung Fu Panda!!"
I will not take Home slander. Maybe I’m just blinded by nostalgia but I love that movie.
SAME
I like that movie too
The kung fu panda shows are stuffed to the brim with sound alikes that Lucy Liu and James Hong reprising their roles ironically sound out of place.
Exactly lmao
@@theotherjared9824 tbf that show gave some good lore and more back story to everyone’s favorite stripped cat
The Penguins of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness were some of my favorite shows when I was a kid
Although She-Ra is technically a reboot, or are you talking “original” as in shows that aren’t based on pre-existing movies?
I really want to see him discuss Kipo. It's very underrated and nobody really talks about it.
@@monkeyman2022 Ah crap yeah, I forgot She-Ra was a reboot lol. Sorry for spreading misinformation 😔
@@dremcrak5647 Nah, it’s fine, it’s not like you were spreading it maliciously! Don’t worry about it.
I'm surprised Cartoonshi didn't release a video on his thoughts about the Live action Halloween Loud House movie and how the live action series was just confirmed to have been cancelled.
the man has standards, the loud house is a low hanging fruit for him atp
@@yuhozStill his most watched video lol.
THANK GOD they cancelled that atrocity. Why do you even need a live action series? You already have an animated one 😭
1:03 CHAOS PEAK MENTIONED (Well, sighted, but whatever)
(Also, please do a video on Chaos Theory, I'll give you my soul)
Frr! Such a great show.
The peakest DreamWorks show had to be the dragon prince - Mystery Of Aaravos
2:58 I don't know why this clip made me laugh so hard 😭
The Penguins of Madagascar was peak as a child.
The Penguins of Madagascar series was my childhood, I legitimately love their villain gallery
They cooked and gave us tapeworms with most of these
I hope he covers Dreamworks' originals some day.

New Conspiracy:
DreamWorks dropped Megamind 2 in order to stop the "Disney Bad DreamWorks Good" memes from people who haven't watched a single animated movie in like a decade beforehand.
There's unfortunately plenty of copypastas online just like it.
then release the wild robot which feels more like a disney movie than a dreamworks one
Not to long ago I watched Jurassic World Chaos Theory season 2 and that and it's sister series camp Cretaceous are actually really good. It's weird that this is leauges better than the newer movies.
I agree lol. A lot more entertaining than the newer films too.
Honestly same and I actually like the home movie the show never did it for me but the turbo show was fun.
PLEASE MAKE THE TROLLHUNTERS VIDEO, I love that show to death for some reason 🙏🏻
Also I watched so much of the show All Hail King Julien and the lengths they took the show’s premise are INSANE.
home is a huge comfort movie of mine, but i forgot they even made another series with it. seems i need to check it out!
Legends of awesomeness and penguins of Madagascar are two of my favorite Nickelodeon shows lol
Race to the Edge feels like if Trollhunters was tied to a existing franchise...so amazing
Good to see The Penguins of Madagascar still being well received in its original form
In Poland it's seen as comedy gold because of the absolute peak translations but I have never seen the original glad it still holds up
The Pineapple Penguins of Madagascar and kung fu panda legends of Awesome was my childhood
Some shows not mentioned here that I have thoughts on:
All Hail King Julien
Peak fiction. In retrospect, it's shockingly mature and funny, and some of the later character arcs go insanely hard for no reason at all. Mort did NOT need lore but he got it and it's insane. Also, there was an episode about building a wall to keep immigrants out of the country before 2016 and I find that funny.
The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants
Also peak fiction. Somehow anything with Captain Underpants in it is destined to be peak, it seems. It's also ridiculously funny, and scratches that same itch the original Captain Underpants books did for me as a kid. This show makes me sad we never got a Captain Underpants: The Second Epic Movie.
Spirit: Riding Free
All I ever heard about this show was how much fans of the original movie hated it, but I don't really agree with the criticism. They're so different, comparing one to the other is unproductive in my opinion. Aside from that, it's kinda mid. It's got a satisfying overarching story and some nice moments, but other than that, the main thing I like about it is the theme song.
I would ABSOLUTELY sit through an hour of you talking about The Croods Family Tree.
9:30
OMG THIS SHOW. I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT AND YOU JUST UNLOCKED THOSE MEMORIES OF SEEING A RANDOM EPISODE ONCE. IT IS SUCH A FEVER DREAM
I remember i watched the boss baby show. I dont know what came over me, but i did. And i remember fucking nothing about it
It was peak
it was one of those shows that were in the background. your cousins/siblings had it on, but never watched the tv. you literally cant remember stuff.
The amount of times I have rematch Race To The Edge is insane 💀
I love that show so much.
I saw someone with a tattoo of Dave from the penguins movie and telling her it was sick while she was so excited I knew who Dave was was one of the most wholesome moments of my life dude
That's awesome game recognizes game.
I fucking loved Penguins of Madagascar, Legends of Awesomeness & MVA: the series as a kid! Good times.
the home tv show did a good decision by putting thump van orman (the flapjack guy) as showrunner.
As a kid, I used to think the TV shows were made first and that the movies were based off them
8:44 the character's designs look like they belong in Malicious ladybug. Speaking of which, hows the process of that video been going? you think it'll be finish within the end of this year?
and yes, I am interest in more DreamWorks TV Shows, I really want to hear you talk about Captain Underpants for how much the movie really encapsulates the Book's whimsy.
I Think You're Mistaking Megamind Rules For That.
Penguins of Madagascar is definitely a show I desperately need to rewatched, had been because it’s soooo funny and nostalgic to me.
Kung Fu Panda Legend of Awesomeness is also another one I’m nostgaic for too, but not as good.
