I don't consider the Speed stat in Pokemon to be an actual measure of movement speed, I consider it more as a measure of reflex speed and comprehension speed. More about how fast a Pokemon can react to attacks or commands from its trainer versus how fast it can physically move.
Don't quote me on this but I did see in a few different videos that, in Japanese, the naming used for the speed Stat actually translates to reaction time rather than movement speed
It's Dex. Dexterity. Agility. Nimbleness of the movement of joints. Reaction time. Not actual Movement Speed. For example, Usain Bolt is an example of Physical Speed... yet a Gymnast or fencer Would Easily outspeed him in terms of Dexterity and Agilty. This is the same thing.

Funfact: In biology, evolution does not exactly mean improvement. I'm in no way a science expert, but I heard this in school and did not forget. On a simple google search: Evolution does not always lead to more advanced species. Evolution is simply a description of the way change occurs in biological creatures over many generations in order to better exploit a certain environment. Evolution sometimes leads to progress, but it sometimes leads in the opposite direction. For instance, the Texas blind salamander has lost his eyes after many generations of evolution due to the uselessness of eyes in the dark caves where he dwells. As reported by biologist David M. I'm surprised Zapdos was never able to learn Pin Missile. It should be able to in theory, as it should be able to electrically charge and shoot it's feathers in a Wing Shards style fashion. I've also felt that Mewtwo should be able to learn Fly since it did fly away at the end of the first movie and can learn Aerial Ace in Generations 4 through 7. People though have argued that Mewtwo is levitating, not flying, but you know.
Cannot believe that's how Starmie and Staryu were sounded even if it's just one version of the anime. So many hidden adult-oriented moments in Pokemon across various countries you could almost think that it's a hidden hentai series LOL. I agree that the lack of “traditional” Fossil Pokémon is pretty bad. Gen 2 was the first to skip out on them, but they returned in Gen 3 - 6. Then, went absent again for three Gen’s. Kinda sad to think that there are many prehistoric creatures that have yet to receive Pokémon counterparts, let alone ones that can be restored as they once were and not a mixture of two.

If he goes Mach 2 then you’ll probably need fast reaction speed so you don’t crash
It's strange that you mentioned Wobb... that's exactly my characters name in shining pearl completely by accident lol
I think they have speed wrong, it should be more reaction timing
I'm surprised Zapdos was never able to learn Pin Missile. It should be able to in theory, as it should be able to electrically charge and shoot it's feathers in a Wing Shards style fashion. I've also felt that Mewtwo should be able to learn Fly since it did fly away at the end of the first movie and can learn Aerial Ace in Generations 4 through 7. People though have argued that Mewtwo is levitating, not flying, but you know.
“Lord of Time? You’re too slow!” (He didn’t speedmax enough)
cow says: ZA WARUDO

I noticed the new style of thumbnail and I almost didn’t recognize the video as one of yours without the fancy border!
Fun video!
Cannot believe that's how Starmie and Staryu were sounded even if it's just one version of the anime. So many hidden adult-oriented moments in Pokemon across various countries you could almost think that it's a hidden hentai series LOL. Also regarding the Poison-Type thing and the moves, that's just the thing about Gen 1 being the first one, which makes it a much less developed Gen. And regarding the speed stat, like others mentioned, this is not actual speed, but rather reaction time. Look at Golduck for example, it swims faster than any other Pokemon but it's speed stat is in the middle. That doesn't count for actual raw speed.
Not to hear Toshihiro Ono tell it, if anyone remembers him.
@@BJGvideos What does he have to do with anything?
@@RoyArkon Your first part, about the "you could almost think it's a hidden hentai series". He did a Pokémon manga that had to be severely edited even for Japanese audiences because he made it so overtly sexual.
@@BJGvideos I know that.
12:39 Team Tunnel sounds like an organization of miners that makes the tunnels in the region
I can dig it 😂
2:05 Anorith sitting is adorable
Just found out today that the VA for Jessie,Misty, and Jigllypuff(spellcheck) has passed away
Said we didn't get new poison types until gen 7. Venipede line got wiped from the dex apparently
I'm pretty sure Starmie/Staryu just said OH! and AH! even back then???
That Miltank fact was wild
Gen 1 had a bunch of Poison types because Team Rocket was known for Poison Types.
I saw the Starmie and I directly thought "this is about our Starmie Staross 🇫🇷"
That Starmie cry genuinely startled me LOL I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING
Purugly: Flash, eat your heart out.
"It would take another 6 generations, until generation SEVEN, to introduce ANOTHER 33 Poison-type Pokemon."
Gen 2: Spinarak, Ariados, Crobat, Qwilfish
Gen 3: Dustox, Roselia, Gulpin, Swalot, Seviper
Gen 4: Budew, Roserade, Stunky, Skuntank, Skorupi, Drapion, Croagunk, Toxicroak
Gen 5: Venipede, Whirlipede, Scolipede, Trubbish, Garbodor, Foongus, Amoongus
Gen 6: Skrelp, Dragalge
The hell do you mean it took 6 generations!? We've been getting poison types from Gen 2-Gen 6.
"Thank Ark-e-us"
Ar-see-is*
No, Ark-e-us is correct
Pokedex 3D Pro, the official app, uses that pronunciation, and Type:Null's ability is called the RKS System in reference to Arceus
Ark-ee-us is correct.
Also did you not listen to the words you just typed? He said it took 6 generations to get another 33 poison types. You listed 26, so the other 7 (equaling - you guessed it - 33) came in Gen 7. Hence 6 more generations.
The way the video person said it, "UNTIL GEN 7," implies there wasn't a single poison type added until Alola.
Vikavolt's speed was my grratest dissapointment in history of pokemon
It crazy that quagsire can’t not learn waterfall until Gen 4
So it's forced to learn it before gen 4?
This fat ugly cat" 😂 i love that you said that, it was the Pokemon that took out by first Pokemon in the game it was introduced... Made it my enemy from then on... Screw that car
Cat*
The solrock/lunatone thing is likely because they were not sun and moons but rather sun shaped and moon shaped meteorites
Its crazy how a fat cat is faster than legendary Pokémon based on literal jet planes! ✈️
Also @13:20 is that why Primal Groudon in the remakes also later becomes Fire/Ground while Primal Kyogre stays pure water type?
This is a well known one, but my favorite dumb stat discrepancy is Oddish the baby flower onion bulb has a higher attack Stat tha Onix the giant ass rock snake made if literal boulders
Speed in combat ≠ running speed
Personally I'll never be over the fact that Polteageist can't learn scald.
ZA is set in the Kalos region so it is entirely possible that the game features a return of traditional fossils unless they choose to continue with the precedent Legends: Arceus set by time travel before certain technologies making fossil revival impossible
Staryu straight up switched sides upon evolving😂😂😂
Speaking of poison type the Gastly and Zubat evo lines are the only ones of their typings and they were introduced in Gen 1
@@jordandimarzio6322 pecharunt: 😶
@mrtrollnator123 yes I know and I said Evo lines since Pecharunt is a mythical and they can't evolve I'm excluding it
@@jordandimarzio6322 fair point
@mrtrollnator123 there not the only ones Froslass is the only Ghost/Ice Salazzle is the only Fire/Poison and Scovillan is the only Grass/Fire
@@jordandimarzio6322 damn
In gen 7 we might not have gotten any new fossils but we did get an old man who apparently tried to create Jurassic Park.
Rhydon and surf...Like why? If so much as a raindrop touches it, it would faint, then there is Dotrio and fly..how? *Helicopter helicopter*
damnnnn, missed the chance for the segway to stem from the "Mach 2." comment. Mach 2 is 2x the speed of sound... And speaking of sound! (RayCon Add.)
1:39 One of these days, I’m gonna see Cara Liss get arrested for negligence in her equipment…
If you think about it, purugly is not fat, its just bulky, like torra cat, it looks fat cuz the tail is curled on its belly iirc

REAL ‼️‼️
I mean come on I'm pretty sure these legendaries are hunting cows for a meal and that cow better be fast enough to survive
