Neat ^^ another obscure/fun fact that I can think of is that part of Calyrex’s inspiration may come from the Celtic deity Cernunnos (roughly translated to “the Horned One”), which would make sense with Galar’s UK inspiration (which includes parts of Ireland and Scotland). Also, the lil Triforce pattern on Calyrex’s beads originates from a popular/iconic Japanese symbol dating back to the 1200-1300’s called the Mitsuuroko.

I just now checked the Gen 3 sprites for Paras and it turns out that the mushrooms on it's back in it's shiny FRLG sprites have different color on purpose because GF/Nintendo/TPC made a different coloration for it's regular FRLG sprites compared to RSE, at which point it will make it's regular and shiny sprites in FRLG way too similar and therefore almost identical. Cool find dude.

Hmm, maybe they can bring that glitch method for evolution back as a refined feature? Maybe even build upon it so that it could allow us better access to regional evolutions. Like for example if we had a Hissuan exclusive pokemon, having it in the team could allow any compatible pokemon next to it on the party list to have access to their Hissuain evolution. If they're not next to them they evolve normally. this could also be expanded to the breeding mechanic too. Ahh but that would require gamefreak to actually do work for a change.
You should do a video on mistakes in Pokemon Media. I had so many official Pokemon books like the annuals from the early years that had so many mistakes in them 😅. I remember one instance from the Annual 1999 where the call Venomoth, “venonat” in the Pokédex pages.
8:07 Actually, getting the right Missingno. for this isn't that difficult if you know what to do. Just do the Mew glitch, using the Special stat of a wild level 12 Abra on Route 25. This doesn't always yield Missingno., but when it does, it'll be the exact one that works for this. I found this out firsthand by using Missingno. and Vulpix on the same ingame team in Blue Version. I didn't need to buy a Fire Stone by the time I was ready to evolve Vulpix, but before it learned Flamethrower and Fire Spin, I was pressing B to cancel quite a few evolutions LOL.
Paras isnt the only one. Another pokemon to get a generation 3 specific shiny variant is gyarados, where it appears eith magikarp's colors instead of the red we know and love. I have said shiny, and honestly? Still looks really good!

I am actually curious about something. So I recently decided to do a 100% Living Dex for every "Directors Cut" game, i.e. Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, etc. When playing Crystal, I decided to check some stuff I'd never checked in New Bark, & I managed to find 10 very obscure details in JUST New Bark that I couldnt find being mentioned anywhere, & even one that was mistakenly misidentified by a Bird Keeper Toby video. He said Legends: Arceus is the only game where you dont have a game system in your bedroom, however you dont have a game system in Crystal. Would you be interested in seeing a video called 10 Minor Details Everybody Missed in New Bark Town? I scripted it out & everything but I've never taken that final step into full content creation because I dont know how to gauge if anybody would be interested in that type of minor thing or not. The thinga I found are pretty interesting too, like one is that I actually identified what movie Mom is watching in the evening, it's a Japanese story from the 1930s that was made into a movie where 2 boys ride a train through the Milky Way until 1 boy gets dropped off in Heaven. The description when you check the TV reads "A movie where two boys are riding a train with stars in the sky..." (paraphrasing), & when I searched up the reference it wasnt even on any Pokemon Wikis or covered by ANY channel. The movie is very very well-known in Japan but never released in the rest of the world. Is that the type of thing you would click on? Because if so, I may just take that final step & actually record the video. Thank you SO much for taking the time to read & answer this silly question.

Is the "710 Poke-dollars" literally equivalent, as in minimum fare for any taxi is literally $710? Or is it some sort of exchange-rate? Because I recall hearing that the Poke-dollar is equivalent to one Yen, which makes the Fresh Water at P-200 literally $1.40 (a little less than a buck and a half). But the P-710 of the taxi becomes pretty much $5... which seems really REALLY cheap for a taxi.

That Yakuza finger thing seems like a stretch... plenty of fictional characters have weird numbers of fingers, its nothing new.

It’s not that far fetched. The mudokon aliens in the odd world video games were changed from 4 fingers to 3 because of Japan.
