I was watching a video from Gate City Foundation And Drainage and the guy was rebuilding and upgrading his trailer too. He was saying there's been some trailer theft in the local area. After they stole the trailers, the thieves would sell the stolen trailers out of state. One thing that discouraged the theft was bright colors instead of the typical black, because the colors stood out and were easy to spot. Nice job on the rebuild Steve!
HOW did you establish the GVW for your trailer when you went to pick up the tags ? For new trailers the Mfger assigns the GVW for their trailers and puts a sticker on it ! Did the lady when you purchase your tags ASK to rate it to establish the GVW ?
Very inspirational video for me! Thank you. I have a car hauler that I'm going to rebuild up here in Canada. Just wanted to say that you should never use anit- seize on lug bolts. They could spin loose on you. I remember getting yelled at by a mechanic for that 😆. Excellent video and glad to see that you could save that trailer from its death bed!
You can prep the bare metal by applying 4% Phosphoric Acid ! it's available at Lowes\Home depot in Qts and GALLONS ! Let sit for 24 hrs and then paint !
Always better to put a drop of oil on the studs instead on Tin man make up. The torque clamp force is actually better and the anti seize is gritty. If the nuts have a flange that spins put a drop of oil on those as well.
Trailer turned out great! On the note of the environmentally friendly paint thinner, it's better for the environment to only paint my trailer once instead of painting it a bunch of times when the paint starts falling off
Sorry. Im late to the video but Turned out great. Just an FYI if you end up needing a new trailer or someone else is. We have a couple trailer dealers here in Vermont that seem to have decent inventory. Just throwing it out there! Be safe. Hope you guys made it out of the storm ok!
Hey thanks for watching man I appreciate it! Yeah i’ll keep that in mind for the next trailer. Luckily we didn’t get anything from the storm but rain! How about you guys?

Yeah that’s a good point we had skid steers being stolen around here so that’s why mines blue now too! Thanks for watching.
I painted mine green and yellow and and put some John Deere decals on it.
I am blasting and painting my skid steer trailer white for the same reason. Easier to spot and harder to hide.
Trailer turned out great !! I can’t wait to see you install the hinges for the barn door on the nicest single axle Pete on the highway!!
Thanks man I really appreciate it . I was just telling my wife I really need a barn door badly! I got a bunch of demo stuck in it today😂
All the attention to detail was worth it it looks sick
Thanks for watching!

The title dose not have a gvw on it so I register is for whatever and that has to match the tag on the trailer which I don’t have so 🤷♂️.
Yalls banter back n forth was killin me lol
😂🤦♂️

Good job on the trailer. Just stumbled onto your video. The paint problem is you can only paint over oil base paint with oil base paint.
Yeah ever time I paint this time of year with the humidity I regret it. Thanks for watching!
I like the rims what are they I never seen rims like that
Just solid steel. Got them off eBay.
I'm I the only one who heard Elmer Fudd @9:30😂😂
