That is a very rare truck there were only 10000 made with that dashboard and hood which was discontinued in 1977 it’s worth a lot of money restored
That 359 dashboard. And that truck is pretty rare with that kind of dashboard. And yes, that hood is stalked. But it was pretty rare for a fibergrass hood, too.
I believe that dash was used up until 1976 or 1977, then they began production with the “corvette dash”
It never ceases to amaze me how much your trucks over there in the US can tow.
Less than some European countries... It always sounds a lot because Americans like to use lbs; 44 tonnes is 97000 lbs
@@Savagetechiehe meant the pickup truck I guess
Hi if8th 6th@srujan2482
What ever you do don't destroy just sell it to someone who wants to appreciate it
This is a parts truck at best
@@user-st8ny6pi2dno far from a parts truck make a nice build
@@user-st8ny6pi2d he will make more money from videos of him destroying it than he will by selling it or parting it out.
Definitely a truck worth keeping and restoring. Nothings better then an old Pete being put back on the road once again.
Totally not worth restoring
@@realkiljuSo… here’s the thing about vehicles… it may look ugly, but there’s gold underneath said ugliness. Not even mentioning that an old Pete will last longer than a new one. They were just built better.
Edit: Rephrased. Also, this is posted on an alt.
@@realkiljuwtf is wrong with u how could u not want to restore this old girl back to her former glory
Kesinlikle restore edilmeli mutlaka

As someone who has dealt with back issues for awhile, i hope you make a full amd speedy recovery
restore it who cares how old it is or how popular it's a piece of history
Would you be talking about Bruce's back or the rare found truck? LOL
@@Armand0011😐
Not all history is worth money. I've got a vile of dirt from the times of Jesus- it's history but its just a vile of dirt.
There are some trucks that are just dirt. Great for parts to save more desirable rigs. The thing about tractors like this is if guys loved them or they were something special they were used hard and sometimes put away like this one. But for half the money or less you can build this one out for you can buy one ready to be customized to your liking and put to work. That's why if it's not special it's trash.
You think its cheap to restore something? Especially if you're going to do a decent job. He is running a business. Whether that be making videos or fixing/selling trucks. He has to do what makes money. Spending his time restoring a rare/sought-after truck is going to get more views and sell for more if he decides to. Can't just throw away time and money on every beater around.

Looks rough. But has potential
I like to see him strip it down. Rebuild the whole thing. And paint her in Ultra Magnus colors of transformers generation 1
I’m always blown away by how these old diesels start after sitting for so long. Good job, Bruce and crew!
Because he uses ether.
Sounds strong aswell cats n Cummins engines 💪
tech at its best
@@LibbyMia-rz8gkover built redundant tech.
It’s been parked since I was born 😂
Build it as a bandit series race truck ..That would be bad ass
That or drag/drift 🤷♂️
@@nathanhelms1674”drift”😂 what you think this is? A race car?
@@rantaviouswilliams Come on now wouldn’t you like to see it as a massive drift truck?
This is an awesome truck, I personally would love to see this brought back to its former glory and see it restored back to its OEM spec
She deserves to be restored , she showed she's willing to live again with the ease of starting. Give her a new life.😊 Old trucks are truly awesome and beautiful.
Please keep that truck Bruce, i don't think people would like to see you wreck another old truck, if you don't want it, sell it to someone else. Please don't wreck it.
😎👍 🇧🇷
I second that
😂😂😂
@@elijahwade2263 what?
I would love to see him wreck it it’s just a damn truck that you don’t own so get over it
If anyone can get it crank it's you Bruce!
I appreciate how you can bring these jewels back to life. ❤
I really think you should do a full restoration on that beast. It would look awesome!
He doesn't follow through with anything he does... never has
Thank you! This is the best video about reviving old trucks! More stories like this!
Hello Mr. Bruce Wilson, greetings from the city of Goiania, state of Goiás in Brazil. I think that your videos would hold more attention and become more interesting, if they showed not only the vehicles working, but washing and giving an extra look as well. Thank you and success!!!
Tá certo, seria muito bom pra ver a limpeza!!
That’s pretty cool that ol’ Bruce has Brazilian viewers
Very cool truck that needs to be saved! I hope you clean it up, get it road-worthy and enjoy it as is.
Very rare truck would love to see it back in working condition 😮💨
it needs to be restored I restored mine in France a 359 from 1976 it is a magnificent truck with a great cummins 400 big cam engine
Keep it,but fix it back up original no lowering or stretching the frame, clean it up fix the throttle & you should've had your giant channel lock pliers to go the cap off the tank, change the oil, filters & either try to fix the grill or find another one replace the headlights & differently try it get that one wheel freed-up & fix that leak under the truck
Greatwork!! Love the sound of that engine!!
The truck is worth keeping i would think and the engine sounds sweet 😊
Great video bub! Always keeping it real and always explaining what your doing. Perhaps sum of these youngins are learning a Thang or threee!
Damn that engine sounds good and strong..shit..considering it been in a wreck it started right up..that starter is kicking it hard
I'm not a mechanic mechanic like you guys, but I sure can appreciate the work and fun you put into this. I tend to do the same into tube amps.
My dad had back surgery like 4 weeks ago and he couldn’t bend down to pick stuff up or lift heavy thing. The max amount of weight he could or was allowed to pick up was a gallon of milk. He over did it sometimes but when he went for a check last week they said he was doing better than most people with that surgery
That gunk that shot out the exhaust had me rolling on the floor
someone lost their nest...
Very cool I used to work for Peterbilt for a long time 359 is what I want to say but the fiberglass hood throws me awesome truck though love what you do keep up the great work keep the old iron alive thank you
Love to see this one build for next years semi casual show. Back from the dead rebuild and fix up. Do a cut off and air bag it from to back, get a hood from some salvage yard... even do an in frame on the motor [if not you film somebody else doing it]. THAT would be good content.
Hay Bruce get well give that truck the Braxton
Hope you fill better soon buddy 🎉
If you were in Texas I’d buy it tomorrow
Kind of cool how it didn't overheat even with the shutters closed even though it's not high idling
Piękne Maszyny Piękne Ciężarówki🤩
Great thing is, a classic restored truck can not only look super cool, they can pay for their own restoration
Bring that thing back to life!
Prayers hope your better soon
the way that started makes me think it wants and deserves to live on.
Great to see you guys get that old peterbilt tag axle to run and drive again.
Engine sounds great!
359 short hoods aren’t as common as standard or exhd’s. And it has shutter radiator setup. This thing is worth some money. Not everyday you come across a small window Pete.
That is most likely a 358. 1967-1976. Fiberglass hood introduced in 1972
Be a sweet show truck. That thing is so cool
Sounds good!
The suspension is hendrickson extended leaf popular for construction back in the day. It's probably a 73 or 74 cause I have a 73 set up the same only I ordered it with cat engine. Still have it and use it
You should do a old build like this for the truck show next year.
Neat to find some of them old road dogs with the actual shutter still working
What A Great American truck
That cab would make a nice pressure washing video.
I don’t know crap about trucks. But i love you will it start. Wish you luck on your back. I wouldn’t mind hanging around with you guys a few days just to learn a little something. Also love the truck you bought for your son.
Rear end is Hendrikson walking beam. They lightened tare weight years later by using cast alloy instead of steel.
You haven't lived until you try to change those trunion bushings on that suspension
@@thomasglynn2282 You are right, when the wheels started coming out past the box on our grain truck while turning. I've done a couple in the late 90's and yeah, what a joy. I had to cut all the end bushings with a recip saw to drop them out and then take them and have new bushings pressed in the beams.
A slipped disc could be the beginning of the end if you do not rest your back for a few weeks. Take it from someone who now requires a microdiscectomy/disc fusion on L4/L5 because I didn't stop after being told. It sucks and the sciatica is relentless. Take some time off Bruce.
Semi Casual's new lawn ornament !
keep the clips coming
Thank you
And by the way that big turbo on the truck is called a VT 50 and yes genius the reason it has a compression release is because it is a small cam Cummins
I drove a lot of these old trucks, Bruce. Factory fiberglass Hood.
Hello, Mr. Wilson. Very strong trucks
Top!
Definitely a Keeper, Don't Kill it, Save it, do a Rebuild Set of videos Bruce...
Finally I’ve been waiting for another will it start
I’m sure Edison motors would gladly buy it
love your videos keep it up
Boy that old truck brings back memories.. One little warning for ya guys.. if one of those mufflers ever explodes don't be standing by it. I had one on a Peterbuilt explode just as i got in the cab. The boom it made was enough to hurt ya
I need 1 of those old skool trucks
Amazing video
Hope to see you fix this one up.
Sell it someone who will restore it...the truck deserves a good home
Make it a pulling truck!!
Restored it and lots of parts and lights and wheels and tire
Worth restoring….because Edison Motors explains classic trucks where built tough for the job and easier to work on….they mention people don’t know what they buy and scrap em or demolish them for scrap. Today’s truck requires lots of attention to make sure they run well and meet DOT requirements…with the old…less concerns of less sensors and DOT requirements. FYI Edison Motors is bringing back the classic kenworth/pete square body style for logging. Which Kenworth stopped production years ago. It’s electric but going for simplicity and quality….can’t wait for the reveal and first truck out of production.
Shout out to Lake!
you should definitely restore it.
Keep it and get for logging!
It would be cool to see it fixed up a little bit and put back on the road
I love old school trucks and tow trucks
For a second, I thought that you would get stung by those bees when you sprayed them with that starting fluid!
Looks like a old Whitehurst paving truck (Richmond VA) they has a large fleet of that style check the doors for a diamond shape were a sticker was on the door. Should be 315 9 speed . They also had dump trucks that way also great will it start . She's a 259 should give her another chase. Make a great flat bed or a scrap truck or single axle farm truck
I think you should keep it and trun it into something allsome
I watching youtube videos on a beautiful Saturday because I slipped yesterday and had a disc go out a gain. I feel your pain!
Great video and great find. She may never work again but she definitely live
It would be a nice pulling truck maybe
Wow you in guys are really really good .Great men
Just found your channel. I like the truck, try to keep it and get well soon ❤
Restore this old beast! Plenty of life in her yet..i love how easy she turned over even after years of neglect.. built to last.. ❤
Best jump packs ever
Hello Mr an Mrs Wilson good to see yall good luck😅
What a beauty!!! And I maybe is me, but that engine sounds awesome. Restore or find somebody that will...
Nice old school vocational
Spec Pete with a Hendrickson RT walking beam.
Run-aways are no joke. My friend in high school had a diesel powered station wagon, one of those brown panel ugly car. We use to take it out for rided during lunch period. Never been so scared in my life when it revved up and would not come down. We had to lock up the brakes and ran like hell. It finally stopped after 45 minutes with the fire department watching. My friend got into a lot of trouble because it was his fathers car and he did not have permission to use it. it went straight to the junkyard.
Good job
I love your videos. Keep them coming.
Bones would be a great name for that rig
looks like early 80's we have one in the peterbilt plant that looks just like it
It's a pre '78, post '73.
대단합니다 잘 수리해서 트럭 잘 활용하세요 영상 감사합니다😊
Dear Bruce
I'm glad you found this old girl and bought her. I'm glad you got her going again. She looks a little rough. But I know you can find the parts for her. I hope you take her apart. Replace all the hoses exhaust, The brake parts. Give her a good bead blasting. To strip all the old paint off. Then get ready to put her back together. With all new parts. That you bought. And maybe put her back into service. Or sell her or some trucker who wants an old girl. That will still work hard. I can imagine the guy who worked on her maybe have passed on. Or still around to see this old gal back on the road. I believe this is the 72 or73. I can imagine if the railroad historical society where you live at is watching this video and watching you get this old girl running again. Get some contact with you. To work on a EMD F-8 to get her running again. I hope you get well soon. Because I heard you hurt your back. I know what that feels like I fell off a loading dock. I damaged my hip and back. So keep up the good work. Take it easy get healthy. Hope to see more videos. And paint that Peterbilt. In Ultra Magnus colors. Transformers generation 1. God bless you
Sven
Cool video. Be a a cool project to restore
I am Kerwin from Trinidad and Tobago love your videos fix it up and go logging
