    Love the highly technical explanation of ABS 😂. Still a very capable long distance comfy bike though..... I still like them so much I have two ! 23 and 24 years old and running bang on 😮😮

    Pity he seems to have got the model year wrong. This is the earlier 1100A with ABS-TCS made for 1995 and earlier. ABS sensors are also on both wheels with the rear one used for both the ABS/CBS. The customer owns the later (96) 1100A with ABS/CBS/TCS.
    I've had my '99 1100A for 7 years and one of the first items I put on was a tow bar as a trailer is better for two up touring which the 1100 is more than capable of doing. No plans to change the bike at this time as it's only done 155,000 kms.

      Several mates have owned the 1100 Pan over the years n the only probs were exhausts n the odd alternator... that apart they were ultra reliable

    I changed the belts on my pan as a precaution it was like new when I took it off they. Say that they are good for 60 thousand miles

      John, my manual reads inspect at 60 and replace at 90 thousand. But, I have read where some are keeping it on until over a 100 thousand. I have a 1996 st100T with 71 thousand. The actual changing seems to be fairly straight forward, but still not looking to do it.

      Sorry for the 2nd reply, my pan shows only one belt how many belts does your bike have?

    The one thing that always baffled me about the 11.... Why on earth did Honda use belts, over chains.... barmy!

    • @thedevhow
      @thedevhow 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Less noise and faster revving. Not saying they should've, but that's why belts are better than chains.

    • @kwakkers68
      @kwakkers68 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thedevhow I can see your logic in that; but I'm not sure I accept - on a big old lump like a P/E fast revving less relevant than torque. And they went on to chains with the Mk 2 (is that any louder? I'd say not?). And, trying hard to think of any full on 'sports bike' from 600 to the litre stuff ... I can't think of a single one that's on a belt (Ducati aside) - some of them very, very high revving. Is any of the new stuff on belts? That might have passed me by - being a fan of older bikes
      I suspect on the stuff with an 11 - 14k redline, there's something to be said for the strength of chain too - a belt letting go at even medium revs can make a huge mess / = a trip to the scrap yard ;-)

      @@kwakkers68 I agree with you, just tried to think of reasons and these two are it. Often times with larger manufacturers it might be simpler than that - they probably lifted some pulleys off their car designs and saved some R&D money, their cars being belt driven made ST1100 belt driven. If R6 can have "electric" response and 16+k rpm on chains so could this lump :)
