Even CHG70 has quantum dots with the VA panel, also 144hz and curved. It also has HDR600, 200$ cheaper when it was at MSRP. Old panel but does everything except the ultrawide. The only downsides of that panel are ghosting and flickering. I have a G9 Neo and the CHG70 both are" VA panels but no ghosting on G9.
At first I thought you weren’t going to try the speakers and then you did. For me, my computer monitor is the second screen in my living room. I don’t have it hooked up to any type of sound bar or anything, so if I want to game and I need sound, it’s either headphones or the display speakers. The fact that this monitor has four speakers is the reason why I needed the test.
Nahhh, for about $100 more I got myself a 49" 1440p 120hz ultrawide off of amazon. The extra screen space on a 49" vs a 34" ultrawide is so much more worth it.
I have the previous version of this monitor, and is quite similar, but the new features are welcome. The speaker on the one I have are terrible though, some phones sound better xD
Yeah the cm model is good other than the speakers which almost no monitor has good speakers lol. My hdr worked flawless with gsync out the box and ocd to 223hz. My stand also works well so idk why they showed a ef’d up screen unless the rgb model is that terrible.
700 USD for a monitor that has height adjustment doesn't work, functionally no HDR, a VA panel with "Quantum Dots" (that no one can confirm is doing what its supposed to), and RGB that will reflect off of the screen and annoy more than anything sounds like a bad deal. Also one chapter says "Corsair software impressions" instead of "Coolermaster software impressions"... FYI
Just got this a few days ago, really like it so far to be honest. Had a Samsung UW before and this is way better with colours. Also, for me the height adjustment stays where I put it!

But the GM34-CWQ however does have the fill screen option which is actually what I'm looking for for my Xbox 360 ultrawide movies. My 360 will be feasting off Windows 10's WMP12+MKV through that thing, thank gosh anamorphic stretching hasn't left monitors.
Sad story time: I am having a bit of a PC gaming return since I bought a 3060 a few months ago and now I have been buying peripherals and accesories to return to PC gaming. I have a 29" 1080p ultrawide monitor that I've used for a few years and it's fine. I like the ultrawideness of it, but 1080p even for productivity is not that much workspace. A month ago, I went ahead and bought myself my "dream" monitor, the QD-OLED Alienware. It was on sale and I adore OLED screens, plus it has all the specs that I've been looking for in a monitor. Mainly ultrawide and high refresh rate in a big size that is still manegeable. I bought it directly from Dell and there was no estimated shipping date when I bought it. It's been a month, and it still hasn't shown up. That was entirely fine since I was not in a hurry to get it or anything. Well, at least I wasn't. My company is now offering me a job in another country, and the way that they will be sending me means that I'm not going to be able to take much of anything with me, at least at first. I'm leaving in a few weeks, and my monitor still hasn't arrived. I spent so much in a monitor and a GPU that I won't even be able to use at least for 6 months until I get a chance to do a full move. So I guess I'm in the market for a cheap PC and a cheap ultrawide when I arrive there. It just will not be my amazing shiny new QD-OLED Alienware.
I appreciate the screen shots of actual video and RGB. Unfortunately I didn't see any video that I would say is good. Usually we hear of NITS and how bright the monitor display is. It wasn't very White or Bright. Thanks for the review, I am considering a monitor in this size and curvature.
Dell makes this exact monitor with this exact panel for 500 dollars and often puts it on sale for 300-400 dollars (you can also find it for sale as open box for 300-350 90% of the time). And if you’re eligible for the Amazon gift card you can get 150 off that, so basically this exact monitor with all the same specs (ultra wide, 1440p vertical res, 144hz, HDR, 1ms gtg response times, etc) for basically 150 bucks
The low-mid range ultra wide monitor scene really feels like different companies rehashing the same monitor. We really need someone to change things up.

@11:15 I'm a professional what it comes to computers, AV-devices and upkeep/maintenance of them and I'm "way old" from the CRT days. The day I learned that MONITORS need Firmware updates (when trying to figure out an issue with clients streaming studio setup like 3 years ago) I wen't like "oh no... oh well... that's better than having to live with it for the rest of the products life if it's buggy from the factory" and I took that immediately into my checklist when receiving monitors or installing them... check the firmware and update. It's equivalent to "always update bios when installing new PC" would be to anyone else as well. just a thing you do because it'll reduce the possible issues you'll have.
0:55 How? That's pretty much where Quantum Dot started: in VA monitors and TVs. 12:18 You should use the ghosting test instead here to easier see, well, ghosting.
I've been watching a Samsung S34J55 for years now. And it keeps baffling me how not-shit this thing is for a cheap ultrawide. I have no idea how well it works for gaming, but for audio/photo/video editing (well, mostly photo and video) and content consumption it does an amazing job. Worth while picking up second hand.

This monitor is aimed more for editors at this price. True gamers wouldn’t even go for this. I know there’s 144hz 1440p monitors out there for like $200 and that’s pretty much all we need
I don't know why so many of you are saying that an ultra wide 34" 1440p 144hz monitor with speakers at 600$ is expensive! Plus quantum dots. All those things add to the price! There are a lot of good VA panels for gaming and the contrast is way better than what you find in an IPS. Understand what you are buying and then talk about the price.
I get that 600$ isn't something that most of us will easily spend but saying that it's a lot of money for something like that makes no sense to me. It isn't cheap....just not expensive! Also as a European I have to say that a lot of good value monitors that US gets....we don't.
I like your reviews, but you can be a little annoying about some things. HDR is always bad with these displays. Yes, we know, rgb is a gimmick, yes we know. The most important thing about a monitor for gaming is, in my opinion, black smearing (va), refresh rate, build quality, and display quality in general. Back light, panel uniformity, brightness, and contrast. And of course, the connections and usb hub capability

I will never buy anything from them again. All they said was that’s “unfortunate” and mailed me a replacement. They didn’t ask for the item back to see what happened or anything. Yeah no way I put the same product back into my computer.
They should rename to hotter master
I sense a lawsuit
I had a Samsung fridge short out which created a lot of smoke in my kitchen while I wasn't home. Samsung also didn't care at all.
I'd imagine that for everything other than cases, PSUs and cooling solutions they basically just slap their logo on the product as it leaves someone else's factory. Also, if you didn't speak Chinese, then you didn't actually speak to anyone at Cooler Master.
Bothered more by the RGB base than the height adjustment that can't hold the monitor weight. lol Had me cracking up.
I know the complaint about the stand wasn't really about the RGB, but I'm sure the RGB will look a lot better when not under studio lighting.
Not that it would matter for most people, since monitor arms exist.
You really shouldn't have to spend $50-150 for a monitor arm when you are already paying $400 over the value of the monitor. The stand should just work.
@@MinistryOfMagic_DoM The only way for a included monitor stand to be better than a monitor arm is for the included stand to be a monitor arm. I couldn't manage without my monitor arms.
That said if you wanted the best value, you wouldn't buy this monitor in the first place.
there are some very good options cheaper than this these days
News flash, 600 isn’t cheap.
Alex called a 1500 dollar laptop budget in a review a few years ago
650 USD for a monitor.... More than a graphic card... I'll stay with my cruddy TN panel.
The non-RGB version is $250 cheaper. Damn. Didn't know LEDs were that expensive.
Oh wait, they aren't, you can make your own bluetooth and wifi controllable waterproof led strips for 15€ easily 🤡
The cm model is the same panel excepts has way less grey to grey time and goes without the rgb on the stand and has purple led strips on the back but for 350$ on Amazon. Bought mine last week and it doesn’t have a broken height adjustment like yours. It overclocks to 223hz works with gsync out of the box and is amazing. Don’t buy the rgb model it’s literally a waste when Amazon is selling the cm model for 350$. Btw hdr worked flawless on mine, put the monitor on game mode and hdr still works and looks amazing. Seems like I dodge a bad experience by deciding on the cm model. 4th button from the left turns on the screens hdr and make sure hdr is enabled in windows. Colors pop very good, you know hdr is done right when you can get glow stick colors on a display, They really do pop
the thing is that the va pannel has much more motion blur than you think even though it has a .5 pixel response time if you want more detail about it go to dawid does tech stuff were he uses this monitor and shows how much worse it is compared to an ips
@@TheJjjoj this is all false and misinformation btw. VA does have more blur than ips, THAT'S why majority of high-high end monitor is a IPS. IPS renders motion better and it's a fact.
The Samsung Odyssey line is a proper VA monitor without that crap, isn't it?
@@TheJjjoj neo g7 can't even touch the top tier IPS and yet i suppose to be top of the tops of VA. Says something about VA... doesn't it. Matter of fact that if you buy VA monitor there is a very high chance you will end up with a blurry garbage, that chance is SUBSTANTIALLY lower if you shopping for IPS.
the .5 ms is mprt not GTG. the GTG is likey as high as 5. so it smears more unless you overdrive the panel. me asus is VA, the smearing is most noticable with extreem contrast beetween adacent moving elements.
@@KissesLoveKawaii can you not spout such obvious lies on the internet where its so easy to disprove it? It just makes you sound like an insane person.
A quick check with Hardware Unboxed easily shows the Neo G7 going toe to toe with the best 240hz IPS panel, despite having a lower refresh rate. Even its predecessors are on par with the best IPS panels at the same refresh rate.
Height adjustment is a thing for me, I gave up on this as soon as I saw that problem. Thanks for the video
This is why I prefer Gamers Nexus reviews of PC oriented products, they don't do fluff pieces on overpriced PC products and they'll dock it for it's price AND performance. They have a firmer grasp of what the average consumer is willing to spend and expect, this isn't that at all. TVs are quickly making gaming monitors obsolete in both performance and price, not to mention real estate with the sizes you can get. For the same price or a little more, I can get a TV for 55in that has more features and better specs aside from input latency and a lower refresh rate. I'd rather compromise there than for the few benefits I get with a monitor like this that offers far less for my money.
I bought this monitor from Monoprice in 2020 and it was half the price. RGB isn't programmable tho so yeah $650... This channel is just a running paid advertisement, at this point.
6:00 I guess the purpose of base LED is when it is dark, you can put something like a device that needs lighting in that place. for example an airpods, pen, headphones etc. luminous enough that you can see it when you need it even if it is dark.
$600 USD is not cheap.
Height adjust issue is unforgiveable. Not something to just gloss over! I feel it's up there with basic functionality like the apple display with attached power cable.
I feel like Linus would have roasted them to within an inch of their life for this!
The one they showed is broken it’s not that easy to move up and down on one that’s not
Imaging paying 600 euro's for a screen and being like..."it should be ok"
You guys should do an update on Panel types.
So this!
Not really sold on this one... the base RGB, the weak height adjustment, the mini-USB, everything about this monitor just screams half-assed.
I'm sure it'll look nice when you sit in front of it, of if you're paying for the whole package, and half of the package is this uninterested in delivering good quality, then the good half also loses value.
Why does the timestamp say CORSAIR software impressions???
Even CHG70 has quantum dots with the VA panel, also 144hz and curved. It also has HDR600, 200$ cheaper when it was at MSRP. Old panel but does everything except the ultrawide. The only downsides of that panel are ghosting and flickering. I have a G9 Neo and the CHG70 both are" VA panels but no ghosting on G9.
get back to me when a large 4k high refresh rate screen is affordable, im not downgrading from a 4k screen to 1440p !
I'm sure coolermaster won't mind the "corsair software impression" tag in the timestamps.
Naw, same team lol
Nahhh, for about $100 more I got myself a 49" 1440p 120hz ultrawide off of amazon. The extra screen space on a 49" vs a 34" ultrawide is so much more worth it.
How did this popped up in my feed (not notification) that fast?
I guess I had too much quickbits
I have the previous version of this monitor, and is quite similar, but the new features are welcome.
The speaker on the one I have are terrible though, some phones sound better xD
Yeah the cm model is good other than the speakers which almost no monitor has good speakers lol. My hdr worked flawless with gsync out the box and ocd to 223hz. My stand also works well so idk why they showed a ef’d up screen unless the rgb model is that terrible.
VA is definitely behind for gaming. IPS is the new minimum and OLED is the new standard.
VA panels have so much ghosting it hurts.
Guys, this monitor is not cheap, and has pretty bad VA smear. gigabyte m324 is almost the same as this one, and is 400 bucks. just get that please.
It's good that it's get rgb in bottom now you can get more fps in games
700 USD for a monitor that has height adjustment doesn't work, functionally no HDR, a VA panel with "Quantum Dots" (that no one can confirm is doing what its supposed to), and RGB that will reflect off of the screen and annoy more than anything sounds like a bad deal. Also one chapter says "Corsair software impressions" instead of "Coolermaster software impressions"... FYI
Just got this a few days ago, really like it so far to be honest. Had a Samsung UW before and this is way better with colours. Also, for me the height adjustment stays where I put it!
In another review it was said that HDR is actually brighter with free sync off. Can you confirm?
VA gaming monitor? I'm never making that mistake again lol
You can buy 4k 144hz monitors for the same price and monitors with very similar specs for considerably cheaper. Who are they aiming this at?
me
All I got from this review/showcase is that LTT should leave monitor content to Hardware Unboxed
I'm still waiting for some non outrageously expensive 27" 4k oled screen.
The few panels we're finally seeing are either 1440p are outrageously expensive due to nice but non essential features (like 32", 120hz).
If you guys get any more news about this monitor or ones similar to it in the future, I'd love to hear it. This is super close to the monitor I want to buy, I just want slightly better HDR.
Try the Mi 34" ultra wide
This monitor is not cheap and has pretty bad VA smear. gigabyte m324 is almost the same as this one and is 400 bucks or the mi 34. or the asus vg34. just get those please.
Don't waste your money on this trash. If you have $650 to spend on a monitor you can easily get a 144hz + IPS panel with true HDR. Just don't expect it to come with gimmicky RGB or from a "Gaming" company. Buy from someone like Samsung or LG. You know, the people who actually make monitor panels.
Check out Hardware Unboxed. They are the ones that actually have good reviews for monitors. Short Circuit seems to only do sponsored videos so it’s hard to actually know if it’s good
I recently bought the MSI MPG Artymis 343CQR on a deal for £425 Its 1000R Curve, 165Hz HDR400 - And I would say the HDR actually the best HDR 400 Ive seen. No built in speakers tho.
Seriously though, what’s taking so long for DisplayPort 2.0 to be adopted? Not even the new Nvidia GPUs have it.
Hopefully the new RDNA cards have it
Because they had bought enough of the older connectors and to finish using it all. 4090ti/4080ti may come with it in a year or so. Also not really any monitors that use it as well. Takes two to do it.
@@RageQuitSon and DP 2.0 has been done for almost 4 years.
mainly just due to it being more expensive and really no one really needing that amount of bandwidth, displayport 1.4 can do 4k 120hz, and id be shocked if even the 4090 could do more then that, let alone 240hz
@@tspooner01 Rumor mill says yes. Let's hope they're right.
The non RGB is $349 I don't think the little colored lights are worth an extra twofity?
"VA w/ Quantum dot" so it's basically just a QLED monitor.
VA.
Aight imma head out
How come yall don’t test the actual response times and input lag?
I just discovered the AW3423DW does NOT have aspect ratio stretching. But the GM34-CWQ however does have the fill screen option which is actually what I'm looking for for my Xbox 360 ultrawide movies. My 360 will be feasting off Windows 10's WMP12+MKV through that thing, thank gosh anamorphic stretching hasn't left monitors.
Sad story time:
I am having a bit of a PC gaming return since I bought a 3060 a few months ago and now I have been buying peripherals and accesories to return to PC gaming.
Alienware is trash
If it was Linus hosting this review i bet he would've ranted about height adjustability for 10minutes straight
I don’t know this dude’s name but he’s good. He seems relatively new. Great work dude
The low-mid range ultra wide monitor scene really feels like different companies rehashing the same monitor. We really need someone to change things up.
It's VA, it has no HDR, peak brightness isn't above 400 nits, and it's over $600? Yeah I also can't believe the price. That's a $200 monitor tops.
Pretty terrible deal. I just picked up a HP X34 for HALF the price, £300 ($325 USD) which is 3440x1440 165Hz IPS FreeSync.
Brow, when he almost drops the monitor I stopped to scratch my beard to pick it up UAHUAHUA
"I can't believe the price!"
I can't believe you thought the price was special 🙄
13:50 for over $600, I think that's kinda steep for not even a full HDR experience.
I've never seen anyone nitpick a thing more than he nitpicked that stand. Jesus. It was borderline annoying. Like, really?
Guys, you need to do a better job with your posture. You're not getting any younger and it's gonna suck when you'll be in your late 50s. Check out 7:54. Please use the head rest on the chair!
You left us hanging on what the Micro USB connector was for! (1:49) Does anyone know what its use was? Is it to connect the USB hub?
it's for the rgb. it connects from the base of the monitor to the pc
Do they realize they're in a really brightly lit studio and the RGB will glow more in a normal setting?
Amazon has one that's $399.99. 34in IPS Ultrawide 1440p with same specs.
Worth while picking up second hand.
tip when you open the box and it seems hard to get out just turn it upside down it will probably slide down slowly :)
With these resolutions people should just go for a 4k display and have black bars above and below. It makes very little sense to have the missing 4K hight resolution.
My 1080p 144Hz monitor costed $150. An extra $500 doesn't justify the addition of 1440p, some crap speakers, ""HDR"", some RGB lights, etc.
I hope we get 24-27inch qd oled panels eventually that won't break the bank
Where can I get that animated wallpaper for desktop, that's awesome.

0:19 that's a 2016 H3H3 move. The good old days
for 650 i want to be able to adjust it to whatever i want and not have a weak spring
if you look in the back of the stand post were the hole is there could be a tension screw that's accessible through it that's not in the documentation but i could be wrong.
@@sirmonkey1985 if thats true, then this guy did a horrible job with his 'review' . figure that out and tell us, thats why we watch these vids!
Can't say I get monitor manufacturers. They should strive for at least 600+ nits of HDR for any monitor $400-$600 and when they're going above that, they should strive for at least 1000+ nits of HDR.
I got a34" Mi 144hz ultra wide 4k Monitor for what worked out to $400 USD I love it and the spring is gtreat in mine
"corsair software impressions" 👀
I bet that would look really cool on a glass table.
That egg probably looks way different when you aren’t under studio lights lol
This monitor is aimed more for editors at this price. True gamers wouldn’t even go for this. I know there’s 144hz 1440p monitors out there for like $200 and that’s pretty much all we need
I don't know why so many of you are saying that an ultra wide 34" 1440p 144hz monitor with speakers at 600$ is expensive! Plus quantum dots. All those things add to the price! There are a lot of good VA panels for gaming and the contrast is way better than what you find in an IPS. Understand what you are buying and then talk about the price.
because $600 is alot of money
because it is? you can get same spec monitors, even with 165hz, for $400. don't tell me the rgb and quantum dots are worth $200 more
I get that 600$ isn't something that most of us will easily spend but saying that it's a lot of money for something like that makes no sense to me.
And of course, the connections and usb hub capability

yeah but the reality is, it's still not cheap
Since when is 700$ monitor cheap, and the title.... come on peeps we all know and love click baits but to double down in the video ain't it Chief.
I remember a time when a perfectly color matched pro monitor was 600 to 900$. Now you get cheap crap that doesn't completely suck. Wow evolution...
Can your employees do their research before making statements on price wasting people's time clicking a video just to find out the price is no where near a good deal? I'm currently watching this video on a monitor with the same specs I bought for $150 less. It was NOT on sale either.
