On two occasions I have actually seen the Raptor be better than the Powerwagon crawling up steep grades in test drives. It had the testers a bit confused. The Raptor diff can be locked up front as well by depressing the brakes which is a feature of the torsen diff. The raptors suspension gives it more bite when climbing and having no diff hanging down up front allows it to get through mud better as well. It also has very good articulation but not as good as Power wagon. So the Power wagon is really only better at 1 aspect off road and even then not by much. 9 out 10 scenarios have the Raptor being superior. Unless you count the winch. And then there is the work ability which is far and away superior in the Wagon. If just off roading get a Raptor, if you want more than a toy get a Wagon

Two entirely different technologies and trucks. Both trucks are top of the line for their market niche'. the Raptor is a desert racer and the Power Wagon is a no bar holds off road 4x4. If you want to play, driving fast on dirt roads or dry lake beds, the Raptor is your only choice, and if you want a true off-road truck without the speed, the Power Wagon can't be beat. Where I live in Utah, people have both Ram Power Wagons and Raptors. A vast majority of Raptors here, are owned by younger people who mainly uses them for cruising main street on Friday nights, or status symbols. The Power Wagons here are actually used for their intended purpose and are what's used to get you off-road. In my line of work, I travel a lot off road and I'm certainly not knocking the capability of the Raptor, but the Power Wagon is just plain and simply, a better off-road vehicle, hands down.
If you want to know the real world off road difference between those two, listen to the segment at 11:40 where the guy in the Power Wagon's voice is trembling as he bounces off the rocks, immediately followed buy the guy in the Raptor saying "it's bumpy" over (presumably) the same road and he's not being jostled around at all.
How can we get to see 5Liter challenge/drag-race between; 2020 GMC Sierra 5.3/10speed, 2020 Ford &150 5.0/10speed, 2020 Ram 5.7, 2020 Nissan Titan 5.7, 2020 Toyota Tundra 5.6, 2020 Chevy Silverado 5.3/10speed

And then there is the work ability which is far and away superior in the Wagon. If just off roading get a Raptor, if you want more than a toy get a Wagon
Falcon 4917 I’ve heard the ride is a lot better in the Raptor on the road than the Power Wagon as well which makes a big difference , besides the fact that the Raptor retains its value better.
I drive a 2016 Rebel and was hoping to upgrade to a 2020 Rebel (when the time comes) but for $150 more per month I can have a Raptor which won’t depreciate as poorly.
@@mjg6377 yeah forgot about ride quality. Depreciation is a big factor as well. I agree. The Raptor truly is a standalone when it comes to trucks and not all that many people need 3/4 ton capabilities
@@Falcon-mc5fs If you play in areas with rocks/off camber scenarios the Power Wagon will keep going where as the Raptor will stop. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the Gen 2 Raptor having a lockable front. Go try doing an off camber obstacle climb, the front will one wheelie peely all day no matter what you do with your brake pedal.
@@WilliamStewart1 no the one wheel peele won't happen if you depress the brake and throttle at the same time. It is a lock that is used only on torsen diffs. Even the gen 1 had the feature. The Hummer H1 has the same feature. There is a group in Arizona that runs raptors in rock crawling tours. The only true advantage off road for the power wagon is articulation.
finally a real offroad truck test
From the start of the video I knew who they were gonna putt on top right away. I love the raptor but these Two different trucks and both are bad ass
BY THE WAY, why no jump comparisons???? Just saying! The Raptor is in a class of its own! No comparison! ANY truck can be a work truck! Whoopie doodoo!
So is it safe to say that Ford has better off roading trucks across the board ( F150 FX4 package). I'm asking cause I'm looking at the FX4 or Tundra TRD Off-road or Pro
I'd prefer the raptor because of it's blue recaro seats and the ford performance blue exterior inside out and it is faster than the power wagon when it is set to baja mode!
Vincent Vaughan of course, it’s a no brainer.
Wait til the ram rebel TRX comes out, a ram raptor with king shocks and a hellcat motor. I’d still rather have a PW, wish they offered a cummins powered PW. I bought a 2016 cummins and put some 37’s, a Thuren suspension setup and ARB lockers next. Will be what the PW should have been from the factory
…and way too heavy!
But are they going to last me a while before i have to start fixing things??
lil layzie93 no lol
Nothing lasts when you play to hard with it. Though 2500 suspension might last a little longer.
Power wagon should last longer since its using Heavy Duty truck parts, where the raptor is using full size.
They should compare the Ford Super Duty Tremor against the Ram Power Wagon.
Power wagon destroys the tremor
I like the raptor
I'm disappointed to not see anything such as likes, dislikes, pros, and cons, followed by a final verdict.
wow the raptor made everything look so easy. Technology is great. Thanks for a very entertaining video
Power wagon don't care
I traded in my 2018 lifted Power Wagon for the 2019 Raptor they are very different, I always been a Ram truck owner never owned a Ford just sorry i waited so long
I thought the PW was in it's on category ya know? Maybe the Rebel and Raptor are a better comparison idk... Guess I will be trying out Ford...unless Toyota Tundra TRD gives me a better deal.
They have to give a better deal, my Raptor is n a class by it self n it is the lowest trim level, n I’ve never drove a more enjoyable truck. Rams interer can not b beat, but that’s all. I would not even consider a new trd , that’s just me
@@olered7760 how you loving your raptor or did you trade it in.
@@Arizona-Tactical I’m very happy with the performance n the truck is alot like a sports car its handled everything thats been thorn at it
@@olered7760 awesome do you have a gen 2 raptor if so what year and mechanical issues?
For me, I'd pick the Ram, it can tow more and do more than just be a toy.
true that power wagon is amazing but it comes no where near the performance of the raptor in the desert and how much fun it can be
Great video 👍🏻
Nothing can really compare to a raptor, it's of it's own league in the truck industry.
Every day truck powerwagon hands down. But for sheer fun and beating on the Raptor. But I would still rather the GMC AT4
I used to ge GM guy back in 2012.. but they're always late to the party in innovation & style.
@@callen7436 I completely agree. They haven't changed the overhauled interior really since early 2000's lol
Raptor is best truck ever made. So mean and just another level.
How can we get to see 5Liter challenge/drag-race between;
2020 GMC Sierra 5.3/10speed,
2020 Ford &150 5.0/10speed,
2020 Ram 5.7,
2020 Nissan Titan 5.7,
2020 Toyota Tundra 5.6,
2020 Chevy Silverado 5.3/10speed
Could you do a video exactly like this but with the Silverado TrailBoss, that’d be so awesome.
Trail boss competes with the rebel and the fx4
@@alew3555 Really? Wow
What location did they go off-roading?
I'll have the Raptor on the rocks please.
Double Oh 7 _ good luck taking it through a car wash
@@traineresports726 don't cry beta male. MAGA 2020
@Cringes I would hand wash that sucker myself. Those drive through car washes scratch up the paint badly.
This looks so fun !!! Dammit I’m so jealous
