I recommend blackout curtains and a Manta sleep mask (this brand is amazing and so comfortable and fully blackout). I worked night shift for years and swear by my blackout curtains.
I do understand the purpose of the sleep hug thing, but just couldn't stop imagining myself in the middle of the night when kids are crying or calling for me. I would probably die trying to get to them and forgeting I'm in it 🤣
I'm an autistic adult and the hug sleep pod has literally changed my life. 10/10 recommend for anyone who struggled with sensory needs at bed time.
So good to hear! I have severe adhd and lately been sleeping 1.5-3hrs a night. 😭 and I’m not currently medicated so it’s not due to stimulants. Might have to splurge for this!! Thank you for sharing your opinion on it:)
I have one of the sleep pods, my Nana got it for me, I haven't really used it cuz I got it when it was really hot and we don't have AC so I got hot in it, and keep forgetting about it when it's cooler. But they do make one with an opening at the bottom if you like to stick your feet out. That's the one I have, because I like doing that.

I so appreciate the “don’t put the knife back in because it’s also gluten free” I love it. Having celiac there are far too many times that food gets contaminated and I can’t eat it.
I grew up with my best friend's mum who is celiac and she even has a seperate toaster. it is no joke! sending you love as I know you don't feel seen or taken seriously in the world 💗

Those origami measuring spoons needed a better test. I would have liked to see them used with basic baking goods. I rarely need measuring spoons for peanut butter in recipes (if I'm making something with peanut butter it's getting like 1/2 a cup and I'm likely using a metal spoon or rubber spatula to get it out.) I would have liked to see if it did hold liquid like water and if the amount you measured in it was actually accurate compared to a normal set of measuring spoons.

I think you need to give that origami measuring spoon a fair shake. Make your cookie recipe with it, or something like that.
Yeah, I think that they were made for dry ingredients and thinner spreads.
That's the thing - it's made for wet and dry. If it's meant to replace actual tsp and tbsp then I want it to perform. Even spreading was less easy than a knife. I understand that the oat butter is super viscous and I think I mentioned there that it's likely better for thinner stuff but it still collapses super easily and I think that could be fixed.
@@RachhLovesLife I agree, if you can’t use it for everything it is kind of pointless. Also, I have doubts about it with liquid.
I think it would be great for honey or normal backing ingredients like spices.
@@RachhLovesLife I feel like it would already help if there was something a bit like a paper clip type thing that you slide on it behind the fold to hold it at that point.
I’m curious to know if those measuring spoons would be better with something not so dense, like pesto, marinara, olive oil, etc 🤔

As someone who does all the laundry in a house of 4 plus a lot of pets, I have to throw them aggressively to vent my frustration at heaving loads of laundry back and forth, also clearly helps with the cleaning process somehow I'm sure.

One other criticism I also have with the hug sleep pod is having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night especially when you are trying to not wake yourself too much. If you are a pillow between the legs person, like me, then it makes this even harder. Plus tying to get a pillow inside and in position to start with takes too much time and effort when you are trying to relax and go to sleep. If you are a bigger person it makes this even more difficult.
So if you don't sleep with a knee pillow or get up at night often then it may be ok for you.
I recently saw an ad for the hug blanket thing and I believe it said it had a little compartment at the bottom so you could let your foot out. I'm an aggressive sleeper so weighted blankets are my thing, but just an FYI for those who may be interested. 🙂
Might depend on the specific one you get, I saw someone review one with a foot-escape, but Rach's didn't look like it had one (although maybe it was just concealed somehow?)
There are two different models. One that’s fully enclosed at the bottom and another where you can stick your feet out. I’ve got one where you can have your feet out and absolutely love it!
The original oat haus is our FAVORITE!! I think it tastes like granola. It’s really good with peach or strawberry jelly.
I just use wool dryer balls to keep my clothes and sheets form getting tangled and not dried. Works well and keeps things from tangling
Added bonus when they go on sale for $5 on Amazon!! The great thing is the 2 times I had to get replacements within a week or two they dropped down to that price!!
That's what I use too. Though I never noticed the added benefit of not tangling lol
My dryer balls end up in tangled sheet mess. Definitely don't help. Any tips would be appreciated

I have the hug pod thing (giant sleep sack) and it's great. I'm super claustrophobic and I get up several times a night, and I've had no problems using it. The one I have has an exit for your feet so you can safely walk around in it.

The sleep pod looks like a potential nightmare as soon as one has to get up at night to use the toilet - Way too much effort getting in and out of that thing!
There's a bottom exit thing. You can get your feet out and pee like you're in a dress.
I don't have any products to mention, but since everyone is decorating for fall already I thought I would share my pumpkin story! 😅 I just kicked mine off my porch last year when they started to rot and now I have 🎃 pumpkin vines taking over my front yard 🙃 Happy Fall Y'all!

i don't have a baby, but i'd get one of those sleep pod things for myself lmao and i also liked the sleeping blanket thing, i tend to sleep on my side quite a bit with my knees up so that'd probably work for me
the worst thing ever is when you think your laundry is done but then you find wet spots when you’re putting the sheets back on
I prewash fabric for sewing & it gets SO tangled & wrinkled. Gotta try the sheet tamers to see if it will help!
I thought I was just doing something wrong. I got a ton of free fabric and ended up with a tangled mangled mass of fabric out of the washer. I don't iron my clothes, I'm DEFINITELY not ironing all that fabric😂
The sleep sack would be a disaster for anyone who goes to toilet or anything like that multiple times a night 😦 i try to keep my eyes closed to hold on the sleep but this is like a full outfit change everytime 😂
I would lose my everloving mind in that thing! I flail a LOT when I sleep, and also am a bit claustrophobic. Looks like fun for the right person, though! However, I would absolutely want an adult version of the sleep chamber thing.

Ah washing sheets, especially fitted sheets is a pain. I've made the mistake of putting other items in with my sheets, go to make the bed and launched a missing sock across the room because it was tucked into the very corner of a fitted sheet and I was none the wiser to it being there, having things to help wash them would be so nice.

We use the “Wad-free” device for our California King fitted sheet and duvet cover, and have been using it for over a year now. I will say that it usually keeps them from becoming a clump in the washer, but they still find a way in the dryer. It is usually not as tightly wound up as they would have been without it, but they are still twisted. We have the “Purple” fitted sheet, so it is stretchy, which may be a contributing factor, but I thought it was worth a try, and it has at least helped somewhat. 😁👍🏻

Rachel, there’s a knee pillow that is perfectly shaped and sized. It’s by Biopedic and Walmart sells them. I think mine was less than $20 and it has a strap so it stays put even if you roll over:)

I got the oat butter after seeing it on shark tank! The vanilla one tasted super good but the taste disappears when you spread it on bread or with fruit, or with anything lol I would just eat spoonfuls of it 😅
Yea the scooper things (can’t remember what they were called) are a pretty genius concept, I was actually surprised at how clever it was to come up with at all. If it worked well it would be a great utensil to have: cleans easily, incredibly easy to store since it won’t take up basically any room. Not sure if maybe having stronger magnets would help the stability, but I hope that he figured out a solution cause that would be really handy to have.
I swear that I just saw a commercial for those sleep pods that have an opening at the bottom for you to kick your feet out. You should try that version.

Thanks for linking everything. That Slumberpod would be good for any young child who struggles sleeping at a family daycare or if a family member/friend watches them, especially when older siblings/other kids are there as well. Sitters would have an easier time. Also, family holiday dinners, where my littles ones always got overstimulated and overtired....aka cranky and not fun. The Sleep Pod...I'm not into being swaddled at this age. Claustrophobia set in for me by toddlerhood lol.
For the oat butter, we only tried the original, and I couldn't get past the gritty texture and how it's basically oats and olive oil. I can't eat peanut butter, but I can have almond butter which I like. I've tried sunflower butter, which i found to be very "gray" tasting.
My daughter and I have found the Instant Pot to be a game changer for us.... Please try out some recipes with it !!!

That oat butter sounds so good.
It looked like the scoops are probably for softer 'wet' foods or mostly dry foods. Those spreads looked pretty thick and if it's only secured by a magnet I can see why it would come apart in anything dense. If it had a clip or snap it would probably work better

It’s a tripod of sorts that can grip onto many surfaces! Super cool if you wanted a camera stand for a table or bike or mirror.

The hug sleep pod would be a nightmare for me, i need to be able to move about when I sleep or I feel trapped. I don't even tuck in my quilt.
I've seen something similar to the sleep pod for beds it's a tent that goes on the bed and there's a zipper on the side that closes it.
I think the real test of the sheet launderer would be socks and t-shirts and a queen/king fitted sheet.

I recently bought a shark tank product: xero shoes…and I’m kinda in love with them. With my flat feet, joint disorder, and old foot injury I’m limited with what I can wear when it comes to shoes and I’ve been working 8-9 hr days in them with no problems…

You should try 88 acres seed butters. I love ❤️ the pumpkin seed butter!!! Also the chocolate sunflower seed butter is really good.
I personally only use actual tablespoon teaspoons measurements for things like baking soda, vanilla, oil etc so realistically depending on the kind of use you'd need it for, I think the origami spoon isn't that bad. I for example don't often use peanut butter in recipes
