The thing about this intro is that it truly showcases the gap that exists between "normals" and "nexts" Normals and MTs are feeling more mechanized, bulky and overall, clunky. But the next is agile, it's movements are fluid and the human-like feature of it's "glare", even if those look nothing like human eyes, somehow tip you off on the fact that the person in that mech is fused to it and not just piloting it like others. What is great about this is that it doesn't tell a story, it shows it instead. But good lord the camera angles are atrocious and confusing... also fore shadowing gameplay I guess!
I think a lot of those angles were meant to simulate the perspective from a human, also this was a time when movies had close ups in fight scenes that were too close at times.
Considering this orchestra music, i find it kinda interesting that Marche Au Supplice and Seed a Barren Earth have songs that sound much more at home with Armored Core For Answer
This opening had cool scenes but given what a next is capable off I felt it slightly undersold the game. The animation is gorgeous but a grenade launcher on a single MT when it can wipe out 10 in one shot seems like overkill to me. The stabbing the normal with the assault rifle is cool as fk and I wish they implemented a similar sort of mechanic in the game
I don't know if it's true, but I vaguely remember hearing that they intended to let you stab stuff with appropriately shaped guns but couldn't get it working smoothly so left it out
@@glacierfruits5350 man, what a shame, with current tech if they decide to do another ac game, would be great to see a mechanic like that be implemented, that way a rifle doesn't just become deadweight
Armored Core IV was really good, but besides the intro, it generally had terrible music. It sounded like the theme to a knockoff of a james bond movie.
That machine gun peppering on the warehouse, gorgeous ! machine gun justice!
It's easily the best shot in the entire fight scene.
I agree, it was very visceral and satisfying.
@@solarisengineering15 I liked the one of the mech sliding down the building and the one of blood sliding down the rifle better.

Anime mecha glare... Gotta love it!

Who else is rewatching these intros because of VI
Me!!
Love it when the AC drops down tearing the building to slow its descent.
one thing that bugs me. that gun has a blade and you see him use it at the end but ingame you cant do that :-(
this AC setting by cheat, back heavy cannon + misisile + dual rifle but still too agile and dodge that fast
I used to build big heavy ACs built to get hit and give it right back
It's a next. They made cheating the norm in AC4 and I was all for it!

methinks it was a sniper cannon
@@come2brasil633 defo a grenade launcher, it's the long barrel karasawa heavy industries model
With all the laser blade additions that were implemented over the years, I would've loved to see blade clashes imo.
Best Armored Core Intro EVER!
if AC4 is good, then AC4A is the greatest sh!t after the wheel
better than AC6)

AC 3 had the best intro.
