welcome to my channel if your new here remember to like and subscribe👍in this episode we will be sorting out why the battery light has decided to show its face and stay on, the most common reason for this is the voltage regulator so we will be replacing that.

I also had the yellow battery light... changed the alternator voltage regulator and wiring harness and it was still there... turned out to be the instrument cluster failing. Had it refurbished and the battery light went away. The climate control menu 20C was displaying 14.4V with the engine on (12.6V engine off) so should have known the alternator was OK!

i replaced the battery, alternator, fuse box on top of the battery still have a red battery light ive also verified on the heater unit by pressing the 2 buttons to open the option going to number 20 to check the voltage coming from the alternator its indicating 14.3 to 13.9 on load if you have any idea please respond to me you would be a life saver!!

Have you checked the cables for corrosion going to the starter motor? Check the thick positive and the earth cables.also does the car start fine as it could be a fault with the cluster

I'm stuck at "I took the 3 screws off".
    Any idea how?

I could see no way to do it without removing the "cover". To do so you need to first remove your oil dipstick and then remove an 8MM nut which hold a clamp that fastens the alternator lead. I used a 1/4" x 8mm socket with a 3" or 4" extension to remove....careful to no drop the nut into the engine bay. Then you need a phillip's head tip in a 1/4" socket extension which gives just enough room to sneak under the coolant hose. Very minor pressure and the lower cover screw broke loose after which I backed out the rest of the way by hand. After that I could easily slide off the cover to access the three screws fastening the voltage regulator to the alternator body.

Mine came on and within 15 mins the car stopped dead. So can be sudden death. As Chris says not to bad to replace in situ

Definitely do it in situ no need to take alternator out, I hope you were close to home when yours went
