Bran should have warged into Rhaegal while being guarded by Jon. - he could have seen Davos's signal and found Viserion immediately because his magic sight wouldn't have been effected by the blizzard - Jon's Valyrian sword and his fighting skills were wasted on a dragon! His best place was on Bran's side - as the only swordsman who fought against and killed a Walker and who knew the NK, guarding the most vulnerable and most important person. This way both characters wouldve had sth to do. Besides it didn't make any sense to use Theon. Theon is an archer, not a swordsman. He should have guarded Bran from a distance.

I thought this could be true but I never saw why people took this so literally. Flying can be metaphorical, as in he would be superhuman or exceed human limits/achieve greatness. Think of Lord of the Rings, when Gandolph said Fly you fools" to the fellowship, no one thought that that was meant that they should literally fly. Obviously they didn't have the means, but the point stands. Even when I hear that people think of it as a metaphor or sounds ridiculous, such as "flying through time". I can't express why that sounds so stupid but it's like those theories that can't he true without extreme exposition dumps following the event. Scotty I’m right there with you man. I’m mostly disappointed with how anticlimactic the night king story line was. The show managed to create one of the scariest villains of all time (who btw had never said one word, most impressive) just to be killed off so simply. I especially agree with the deus ex machinas, the directors seemed too scared to kill of characters because of fear of public response that it lost what makes GOT the best show of all time, no one is safe (or so we thought). I get that they have to finish this show in three more episodes but it’s just not shaping out to be what it could.

show built up the war for the dawn and azor ahai for 10 years. hinted at jon or danny being pivotal in the prophecy the whole time. then aria (who is badass dont get me wrong) a character who knew nothing of white walkers or the war for the dawn, who had nothing to do with that storyline, and who doesnt fit the prohecy ends up killing him? jesus..it was entertaining to watch but on a logical/storytelling perspective it felt like they completely robbed the viewers for what amounted to no more than 30 seconds of shock factor.

If his whole thing is to "be the memory of the world" and to know all things... and then he doesn't know such a crucial information - well, then he's utterly useless.

I like how they just decided to send the Dothraki to their deaths. So the Dothraki horde, one of the most feared forces in the world, is just gone. Also, it's a seige, but the castle isn't utilized almost at all because everyone fights outside of it. They put siege weaponry outside of the castle and in front of the spiked barricades and trenches, which would be a sound defensive structure, but now your catapults are immediately out of commission. Oh and Dany and Jon decide to let the walkers get right outside the castle before they attack with their dragons. The Night King should have won because he fighting a bunch of morons apparently.
Nick Jon v Nightking would have been the biggest fan service ever. Fans expected, or let's say demanded, that to a degree that they're now pissed that it didn't play out that way.
It dropped in quality because George forgot to write the last 2 books, which the showrunners assumed would have been finished by the time they got to that point in the show. Obviously the show has to continue on regardless, forcing them to piece together whatever the original vision was themselves.
Noticeable in the previous season, and it has completely fallen off a cliff in this season. This is just getting to be pure fan-service, except nobody wanted this kind of GoT in the first place. Even Marvel grew bigger balls nowadays, at least they know how to get a proper battle going after years of build-up.

The thing about hinting Rickon as having a similar power to Bran, is that in the books, _all_ the Stark kids have similar powers to Bran. They all have dreams where they're inside the minds of their direwolves. You have Arya dreaming of prowling the Riverlands gathering her wolfpack while she's training in Braavos, and Jon has dreams of seeing through the eyes of Ghost. In fact, when Jon Snow is ( *Book 5/ Season 5 spoilers) stabbed repeatedly and left for dead at The Wall, fans are theorising that he may have warged into Ghost. When Robb is killed at the Red Wedding, there's reason to believe that he Warged into Greywind, and saw Arya through his eyes before the Frey's shot Greywind. None of that is in the show, which is disappointing.
I was waiting for episode 3 to redeem Bran. Some amazing unexpected event from him... and then... lol. I think this was my least favorite episode in the whole show. Not kidding. I was confused from start to end.

- he could have seen Davos's signal and found Viserion immediately because his magic sight wouldn't have been effected by the blizzard
- Jon's Valyrian sword and his fighting skills were wasted on a dragon! His best place was on Bran's side - as the only swordsman who fought against and killed a Walker and who knew the NK, guarding the most vulnerable and most important person.
This way both characters wouldve had sth to do.
Besides it didn't make any sense to use Theon. Theon is an archer, not a swordsman. He should have guarded Bran from a distance.

Jon would have been better on the ground, Rhaegal would have been better off and more lethal if he didnt have to worry about keeping his newb rider alive, Dany could have been burning legions of zombies in the field further out, and Rhaegal could have been circling close to the Godswood to make the attempt on the NK when he showed up.

Flying can be metaphorical, as in he would be superhuman or exceed human limits/achieve greatness. Think of Lord of the Rings, when Gandolph said Fly you fools" to the fellowship, no one thought that that was meant that they should literally fly. Obviously they didn't have the means, but the point stands.
Even when I hear that people think of it as a metaphor or sounds ridiculous, such as "flying through time". I can't express why that sounds so stupid but it's like those theories that can't he true without extreme exposition dumps following the event. A shitty pun/insignificant detail doesn't make the whole theory

Scotty I’m right there with you man. I’m mostly disappointed with how anticlimactic the night king story line was. The show managed to create one of the scariest villains of all time (who btw had never said one word, most impressive) just to be killed off so simply. I especially agree with the deus ex machinas, the directors seemed too scared to kill of characters because of fear of public response that it lost what makes GOT the best show of all time, no one is safe (or so we thought). I get that they have to finish this show in three more episodes but it’s just not shaping out to be what it could.

Actually Bran didn't find out about Jon's claim to the Iron Throne without Sam.
He mistook Jon for a Southern bastard, said his real name was Jon Sand instead of Jon Snow.
He only looked into the wedding ceremony because Sam pointed that out (after reading about it in Oldtown).
That was the moment I lost every interest in this character.
If his whole thing is to "be the memory of the world" and to know all things... and then he doesn't know such a crucial information - well, then he's utterly useless.

That's the point. Bran can use his trees like we can use google, it should not take so much time to find out Jon's heritage. Actually it should be easy, after all Bran went through.

Fire does affect him, his hand was badly burned when he grabbed a lamp to burn the wight that was going to kill lord commander mormont, in the books his burned hand is way more emphasized, but it's not possible to do so on the TV show, and I guess that he was trying to get the dragon closer to try to stab him with his sword, I mean, he was trying to get to Bran and as far as I can tell, you can see that the character was pretty desperate to get to him

I like how they just decided to send the Dothraki to their deaths. So the Dothraki horde, one of the most feared forces in the world, is just gone. Also, it's a seige, but the castle isn't utilized almost at all because everyone fights outside of it. They put siege weaponry outside of the castle and in front of the spiked barricades and trenches, which would be a sound defensive structure, but now your catapults are immediately out of commission. Oh and Dany and Jon decide to let the walkers get right outside the castle before they attack with their dragons. The Night King should have won because he fighting a bunch of morons apparently.

Noticeable in the previous season, and it has completely fallen off a cliff in this season. This is just getting to be pure fan-service, except nobody wanted this kind of GoT in the first place. I'm excited! The trash writing after catching up to the books is giving me so much motivation to start reading them. I ordered the Monday morning and they get here on Thursday! Episode three reassured me that there's no way I'm letting what ever trash they're gonna end the show with be the ending I have to live with. I hope he gets it done soon though. He's getting pretty old.

@@rosesongoku6980 Of course he wants to. Look at his recent remarks, he is entirely focused on writing the next book. He has a plan, but the journey takes a long time to develop properly for someone as accomplished at world building and character development as George.

George is 70 years old, retired already. He will die without finishing his story and people will still applaud him. The sad reality is that his last 2 novels were not even that good, especially a feast for crows. The TV show rushed things and "merged" the 2 books into one season, season 5. And season 5 was a piece of shit, even with book material. So, even the books were getting worse. We just have to let it go man, we wasted our time. The previous generation got screwed with Lost, now we get screwed with Game of Thrones. At least the first 3 books and the first 4 seasons were good, that's the only positive I can take from this shit.

The thing about hinting Rickon as having a similar power to Bran, is that in the books, _all_ the Stark kids have similar powers to Bran. They all have dreams where they're inside the minds of their direwolves. You have Arya dreaming of prowling the Riverlands gathering her wolfpack while she's training in Braavos, and Jon has dreams of seeing through the eyes of Ghost. In fact, when Jon Snow is ( *Book 5/ Season 5 spoilers) stabbed repeatedly and left for dead at The Wall, fans are theorising that he may have warged into Ghost. When Robb is killed at the Red Wedding, there's reason to believe that he Warged into Greywind, and saw Arya through his eyes before the Frey's shot Greywind. None of that is in the show, which is disappointing.
I was waiting for episode 3 to redeem Bran. Some amazing unexpected event from him... and then... lol. I think this was my least favorite episode in the whole show. Not kidding. I was confused from start to end.
Correction, Bran did 3 things of significance.
1. Give Jon Snow his real name
2. Be bait for the Night King
3. Expose Little Finger to Sansa
Also gave Arya the weapon she used to kill the NK
And I am pretty sure he did something last episode with those crows. He stayed in Warg mode for almost the entire battle. There must have been a reason for that, since the cameras kind of focused on him doing it a few times. We are probably only gonna find out what he did in the next episode or after.

Episode 3 killed all the hype. Why did the war against the super powered ice zombies end after the third episode of the last season? So is Cersei more powerful than the Night King?
Not only that. If Arya can fucking teleport behind the NK and do a one-hit KO, then how is Cersei even a challenge at this point? Arya can kill everyone in Kings Landing before lunch!

That’s the main problem though. I don’t care that Arya was the one who killed the NK. What I have a problem with is the way it happens. Like, I get that she trained to be an assassin, but it makes no sense how she managed to sneak right behind him. To make things even more stupid, she screams before she lands the killing blow. Like...doesn’t that defeat the purpose of being an assassin?

"i thought when I was watching the show... I got really into the show." Lol I think all of us went through this, the second I saw GOT I shot through the first two seasons. Then was like shit, good thing Season 3 is coming out. Then, slowly after Season 4 I stopped holding the show in such high regard. He's right about the writing, the second they couldn't adapt George's writing onto screen they started half assingly doing things that went against the principles of the first few seasons that made the show so great.
