    Original Description:
Game of Thrones is one of the most popular TV dramas of all time, and fans were pumped to see what the creators had in store for its final season. However after a few episodes, GoT fans started to have some questions about the way D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were wrapping up their favorite show. Like what’s up with Daenerys becoming pure evil so quickly? Why isn’t anyone talking about Jon being the rightful heir to the throne? Was that really the end of the Night King? Are scorpions more powerful, or are dragons?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Game of Thrones Season 8! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

I mean... they're still waiting for GRRM to release the last 2 books despite it having been over 13 years since he started on Book 6. I don't know that we'd have been THAT patient for the show, but making Seasons 7 & 8 full seasons would've gone a LONG way towards alleviating the criticism that it was a botched & rushed job (plus, you know, sequencing improvements & story improvements & making their biggest episode of the entire small-screen show visible on more than 5% of small screens)

If they had properly ended the show it would have gone a long way towards giving George more time and patience to finish the books. As things stand George will likely never finish and so the ending of the show will forever be the canon ending and I myself just cannot forgive that.

The books gots me through my first year on mission in Aghanistan. Thousands of pages read and I couldn't wait for the rest. When the HBO show came out I was very apprehensive, however a battle buddy had the dvds so I gave it a chance. By season two I knew they were not going to honor the source material and abandoned ship after the second episode. Glad I did, but not at all happy with what they did to one of the greatest stories I have read. Still wondering if G.R.R. Martin can get off his ass and save his masterpiece. Season 7 was basically just as bad. I had the fortune (or misfortune) of basically binging the whole show in a few weeks and was also somewhat familiar with the books. After they stopped being a faithful adaptation, which happened somewhere through season 4, the quality started declining. Season 6 was solid despite that but 5 and especially 7 & 8 sucked ass.

I sent this to any and everyone. And shared it multiple time. Ryan's pitch meeting was the PERFECT response to the dreck Dumb & Dumber tried to feed us. It's wild to think that the more time passes the more people will forget that so much of what producer guy is saying was actually what D&D were told. They could've had all the time and money they wanted but they turned it down because they were already thinking about their next series. It became something like karmic payback that the next series never happened.

I like the personal take on this at the end and yea, the Pitch Meeting was definitely a turning point. It was so good I just watched it last night and rewatched it here again. They are pretty much perfectly done to portray what people are thinking into a director - publisher kind of view, like if the audience thinks something was cheaply done, they will just blatantly say they don't care. And it's usually really spot on while adding a bunch of top notch humor on top of it, I've binged a lot of them and have been laughing quite a few times over the jokes/perfect timing/editing of them. Well done and I hope that you keep going with it!
Edit: Omg I want to see Ryan Reynolds so badly and I hope you 2 can come up with some hilarious breaking of the usual theme, like him as publisher talking as producer or something to just completely break how it usually is xD

You are absolutely correct. I found you through this original Pitch Meeting. The big eye filter was a good touch too bc I was excited to hear you go off about GOT in a high pitch voice filter. I was slightly disappointed that there was no voice changer, but I got over it real quick bc it was so funny. Love you! You're amazing! ❤️

This was my first Pitch Meeting, ever. And I remember feeling "seen" so much, it translated everything I was feeling at that moment. And then I proceeded to watch every single one of them lol

I just wanted to pop in here and ask when you're gonna do a pitch meeting for Across the Spiderverse!! :)

I'm normally not a fan of reaction videos, which are like the laziest possible content, and these revisits are basically reaction videos. You give so much insight into your creative process in your commentary that I actually look forward to these more than new Pitch Meetings

*Question*: Have you ever felt any burnout or fatigue around creating Pitch Meetings?
You seem to have fun with them, but many also seem like they take a ton of work and I know a lot of people find this type of “repetitive” creative work very depleting after a few years.
P.S. Love your work and candidness with us. Thanks for all you do man!

I have loved/followed Screen Rant for the past 7 years at least... They have been one of the most primary sources of realistic/dry/comical entertain in regards to cinema reviews in a long time. They’re honestly the shortened version of “cinemasins” that the world needed. Thank you for years of entertainment, and I’m so happy to see how far this segment has come. You are an amazing/consistent source of tears and laughter ❤ Please continue to be you and thank you again for all that you do 🥰
