You should see what we have done to it since (mud, dust & dragged down trees) - plus Nath is 20, wheelspins everywhere, I cannot believe what that truck puts up with !! he is a dab hand at drifting it !! Some G-shackles are on order (China so let's not hold our breath for arrival) and most of the joints are worn away, so never tried this - fingers crossed !! Will be a few weeks away before we start - small job of an engine swap in an ML - this is so far past our pay grade - but what's the worst that can happen? it still sits where it is motionless 😂
We are always on the web - my wallet is in cardiac arrest :) Not sure I like the sound of screw extraction - been there 😬 new shocks will be fun though.
Thanks for this boys! Really helped me out last weekend. Just one thing I found out. If you drop the car back down with tyres on (duh). It helps set the correct preload tension on the Bushings.
I’m so glad I’ve found your videos, I’ll be watching the whole series! I recently bought a 2005 l200 & love it but it needs some work. Front shocks is one of the 1st things to do, my front suspension is very squeaky so need to sort the shocks and I want to get in there and clean it all up, grease up and replace any worn out bits. What did you use to clean everything up whilst the wheels were off - looks like it was an awesome job done! Thanks.
@@DrivenMadShow ha! I don’t have the old man part but can get the ACF50, thanks for the recommendation. What do you do before applying that? Is it as simple as pressure washing and getting your hands dirty with scrubbing brushes?

Hi there! Yes the torsion bars are fairly simple. It’s possible to raise the vehicle around 2 inches or so. I will make a short video tomorrow and show what to do. I will post and tag you 👍 Thank you for your comment
😂 have you seen how many views we get :) - we bought them of ebay - the UK site - look very solid and well made, we love the looks, fit was a doddle as well (on our truck that is)
Hey guys good job. Im just curious though.. did the height change on the front end? I have an L200 2003 as well and wanted to change my shocks but kinda lift it up a bit while im on it… Thanks more power to you
We played about with the torsion rods as we did it, so we stupidly forgot to take measurements before we started - just setting it level ish - before it was Torino style front down - what was down to the shocks I cannot say for sure, think not a lot :)
Just had a load of parts delivered - will be a while before we start as we cannot take the truck off the road at the mo - need a spare car ! - had an overheating issue and it turned out there was no thermostat in it 🥴 so road side repair done and amazingly problems appear gone - we have done 20k kms without one, no issue 😂so very weird - just tough old trucks !
To be totally honest - they were cheap and looked sexy - the fleebay reviews were good, so we took the plunge - when we are finished, we have done some on and off road testing as the truck was and will repeat the exact drive with the new shocks, that should tell us all if they are any good 🤞🏼
For a DIYer, these videos are the best on TH-cam for L200 work. I just wish the underside of '06 Trojan was even half as clean as yours.

@@DrivenMadShow I started the day intending to replace the front discs - I ended it with shock absorbers and screw extractors on order. :-(

Nice one - great tip (we need as many as we can get :)
Looks identical to my SS, which I'm doing shortly. Wish me luck fellas- it's way more rusted than your L200.
Let's be fair, if we can you can, mong was invented for me 😂 keep us uptodate !

You need an OCD old man ( we have one :) we coat everything in ACF50 - amazing product

Peço desculpa mas quando fiz a pergunta não sabia que eram Ingleses, não era de todo para ser estúpido.
