I've decided to bypass usage of the actuator by installing free wheel locking hubs into the wheels and removing the actuator completely, replaced with bracket and spring to keep 4WD engaged, cap the vacuum hoses, and then I got the oldschool reliable method of manually engaging/disengaging 4WD via locking of hubs. Otherwise too many frequent issues with failing actuator/vacuum hoses/solenoids/switches, etc.

hello, I also have a l200 k74 - have you made any modifications to the engine, cooling - removing the EGR or replacing the Wiscoza with electric fans? I will be grateful for your response
Hello! Yes there are some mods: EGR deleted, exhaust changed to straight pipe without catalytic converter, the A/C fan connected to a switch as an extra cooling. Wisco is stock.
@@vvitecki This is the OEM A/C ventilator in front of the A/C and coolant radiator. I changed the function of itt. Beside the A/C mode it is able to turn it on manually to help the wisco
Hello! I have a 2006 L200 same model as this one, and today I jacked up the front left wheel and turned it with my hand. The axle from the front dif to the transfer case turned also, Is that normal? I thought when the lever was in 2WD the vacuum actuator should release the front wheels from the axle. I asked someone to start the engine and put the lever in 4WD while I was under watching, and the actuator moved, and returned to its position when he put the lever back in 2WD. Thank you, nice channel, greetings from Chile!
Hello! When the lever is in 2wd, the actuator releases the front right drive shaft. Because this system is controlled by vacuum and if you have some small leakage, when you made the wheel lift test without starting the engine it can happen that the system already lost the vacuum and the actuator closed the drive again. When the engine runs, you don't need to lift any of the wheels to test the system. In 2wd the front dirveshaft (comes out from the transfer case) should turns freely if the system works correctly.
@@AdditionalLosses Thanks a lot. I'll try that way. Please if you can help me with another related issue, at first I didn't know this video was about the 4x4 light flashing (then I google translated the title), when I turn the ignition key to the ON position in 2 HI mode, the light flashes until the engine is running, then it turns off. Unfortunately I don't have the owners manual, should the light go solid or flashing is normal? Thank you again :)

@@AdditionalLosses I have a mitsubishi shogun, the central diff light is flashing, the solenoids seem alright (but I've ordered spares to replace anyway) I'm having a look at the actuator this weekend, if the light keeps flashing do you think it'd be one of these things? I Don't know. There's also a wheel hub lock system as an alternative
Muy buen video, tengo que cambiar ese mismo actuador a mi Mitsubishi pajero 2.8 y se ve perfectamente como lo cambias.

Valószínűleg ki van véve az izzó belőle.
Mi a helyzet a biztosítógyűrűvel?
Már nem volt fent, így én sem tettem, polcon nem volt :-)
