I commented on Suggs pro acryl video saying i couldn't get them in China. Monument hobbies replied to my message and put me in touch with a shop in Hong Kong that stocks them and I managed to pick up their last box.
Yea I was very surprised and pleased with them. I've had one bottle of pro acryl white for awhile that I got outside of China that I have been making last. Now I finally have a supplier.
Insider knowledge on riders. The reason for the famous 'diva' demands on them is not (in most cases at least) because they have some weird desire for that item, it's a way of checking how well the venue has taken care of things. A rider doesn't just cover things you want in your dressing room, it also covers all your equipment needs and required setup. If the artist then arrives at their dressing room and the weird, obscure demand is taken care of (say a 500ml bowl full of only yellow M&Ms) they can then relax because they can be pretty sure everything has been taken care of. If the obscure item isn't there, it's an early warning to check everything else. Have your guitar amps been put on the correct sides of the stage? Has the drum kit been set up in the correct orientation? Are the monitors routed correctly to give each member the sound mix they need? Have the lights been correctly programmed?
One of the things I really like about this podcast is that even though you've all been in 'the hobby' for a very long time, there's clearly whole aspects of it beyond GW that you're not massively familiar with, and you're not afraid to admit it. It's cool to see folks like yourselves genuinely getting excited about things you've 'discovered' as opposed to pushing sponsored content. Also: Bloodbowl - Taylor Swift Vs Travis Kelce.
"Its a dumb thing but its fun, its an exciting dumb thing" This also describes all of Warhammer. That is what I love the most about Warhammer. The model that got me into the hobby was the Defiler. Giant scuttling crab tank thing. So dumb, so fun.
Love this podcast. Peachy: "and the games don't last as long, so I get more games in" Perfectly said, can't wait for Robs "you're playing wargames wrong" video!
I want a "Thank you for comming on our Juggz" t-shirt. I mean, I won;t be able to wear it anywhere and my wife will demand an explanation. But still...
Just loving how much fun it looks like your having together. And how genuinely excited you are to work together on things. Glad to see all this positivity in one place.
Love you guys, I get it's the vibe of pals all chatting and enjoying the hobby but this was a whirlwind of anxiety with talking over each other and tangents. Thanks to Rob for steering things.
I’m a bit lonely here in Tokyo, I watch these videos every day, these and honest wargamer’s and peachy tips’s and rogue hobby’s ones. I can feel at home when I listen to you guys ❤
This comment suddenly struck me with the idea that everyone should be able to make a D&D character with whatever stats they want but for any stat of a 15 plus the player has to justify to the group (ie, winning a feat of strength (str), freestyle walking challenge (dex), convincing the group of something completely fantastic that may or may not be true (char))... So much better than rolling 3D6!
Robert G Symes (address: Electrical Substation 69, Warhammer World (basement), Lenton, Nottingham NT99 FU55) is spot on about playing a fun game with a sane person. However, a lot of nerds are passionate, maybe be neurodivergent and quite literal. I want to play by an agreed set of rules or at least talk before hand if we're going to do things because I think some structure is part of the game, and try to make any FAQ type negotiations on unclear things (usually common sense) before hand rather than suffer from 'gotchas' Hunter S Thomson vs Frankie Boyle on LSD
I love this podcast and everyone on it, but hearing Suggs learn about both touching cloth and riders sounding like she's eaten way too much sugar is an experience i will not forget. Never change.
Funny that Oculus raised 'Psylocke and the English Woman in an Asian body' bit in the video, I remember that happening back at the time as I was a huge Comic book fan in the 90s, but I only just found out this week they separated the two of them again in 2018... Betsy now has her own body and is Captain Britain apparently, and Kwannon has her body back and has remained as Psylocke in the X-Men. Another amazing video.
I definitely do think lore "matters" in that lore is what many of us engaged with for the first time to really care about the universe otherwise people would more than likely be more apt to jump to other systems with those same models. People do get hung up on lore, especially when it doesn't matter so much on the table (and thematically most armies don't match up to the lore imo). I could stop playing the tabletop today and I'd still engage with the 40k novels and stuff because I love that world and the characters. Dawn of War and the Blood Ravens got me into 40k back with 5th edition not the models or the rules. Some of it reminds me of when someone tells me, "I am a fan of Captain America" and then at some point in the conversation the equivalent of, "I don't care who Captain America" happens and it has me wonder what they are actually a fan of, exactly? "I love Magneto"... OK, great..."I don't think Magneto needs to look like, act like, or do any of the things Magneto does in the comics"...ok, great...so, what are you a fan of, again?
So when Metallica played my town, they played Warhammer fantasy in the back before the concert to get in the metal mood. A lot of Warhammer nerds are also wrestling nerds- spoken as a former GW store manager and Independent
I listened to this while I ate dinner, then went to the hobby desk, subscribed to @oculusimperia, and listened to him while painting a Phobos Lieutenant 🖤
Warhammer matchup - Kurt Russell vs. Roddy Piper or Arnold Schwarzenneger vs. Carl Weathers. As someone who doesn't gatekeep but has been tempted by those thoughts in the past, I think both theories are part of it. With niche interests, especially ones that thrived with people who felt a little outcast from the norm, there's definitely a sense that things like Warhammer were things where you could do the hobby and be with other people who were like you. What we're seeing now is similar to a lot of people getting upset about video games becoming popular around the time of Halo. There was commentary back then about people being upset that jocks and popular people were getting into games. Peachy's anecdote about historical wargamers turning up their noses at Warhammer is definitely the same vibe. I think it's a good thing that more and more of these hobbies are considered socially acceptable, like video games are now. However I think as part of that, we (as humans) need to be accepting of the more neurodiverse people within the hobby and the people who are might be more socially awkward or strange as part of that - as long as those people aren't bad actors or intentionally asshats. Ultimately the issue is really in human tribalism on both sides, which is something unfortunately unlikely to go away anytime soon.
No idea if anyone's even gonna see this, but to answer Peachy's question why Boss Nass looks different from the other Gungans: Canonically (got carried over from Legends iirc) there are two different subspecies of Gungans, the more numerous Otolla Gungans like Jar Jar and most of the others and the Ankura Gungans like Boss Nass. They've lived separated for the longest time but eventually joined up when Otoh Gunga was founded, bringing all Gungans together and far less numerous, the founder of Otoh Gunga was an Ankura Gungan and they've maintained a presence in the council ever since. He actually has ears like all the other Gungans too, they are just tied behind his head. In reality it was probably decided during production that the leader of the Gungans should be a chonky toad guy for some reason and then someone made up the lore to explain it afterwards. 😂
I had to finish this episode before starting the new one, and I just want to say that Steve Jobs vs. Hunter S. Thompson (both specifically on LSD) is now my answer to ANY vs. question ever posed to me ever again.
Great podcast guys. Just to chip in to the celebrity wargaming bit: Hollywood legend Cary Grant was a big fan of LSD and advocated for its therapeutic use, so Hunter S Thompson vs. Cary Grant for your LSD feuled AOS match, and Vin Diesel is into WH40K, he runs Blood Angels, so yeah "BOLTERS"!
On the topic of gate keeping was told this one from the one of the guys in the gaming club, sorry for the bad translation: "This hobby is like my wife, she might like the attention, but I really don't like it when other people stares at my wife" To some extend I understand his analogy, but I don't get when people thinks of their hobby in the same tier as their loved ones. Love the podcast keep it up!
The M&M's rider thing is really clever. The band asked for a bowl of only blue M&M's, and if they turned up and didn't see it, they knew the venue or the promoter hadn't bothered to read their rider or their tech specs, so they knew they were going to have a rough time there.
Rob is having to be extra patient and to do some serious Juggz-Wrangling in this episode - and I‘ve not even got to Louise in the „What have you been doing this week?“ intro segment.
Continues to be the best hobby podcast out there. Glad to see Tzeentch get some love - clearly the best and most Lovecraftian of the Chaos gods. Also enjoyed hearing Louise go off on a lovely Lovecraftian tangent!

In case you aren't aware, total war warhammer has quite a few cameos of youtubers, modders and other prominent community members; ones I can list of my head are venris (sfo lead modder), indypride of milkandcookiesTW, Henry cavil, Loremaster of Sotek, Turin and a host of CA staff too. Although keep in mine they don't use there youtube/real names and try to make them sound like they belong in the old world setting (finally a use for the weird knowledge I've amassed over 8000+ hours of time I've sunk into that trilogy).
Rob, as a joke you should just edit yourself out of a podcast to show how truly mad the conversation would seem without you grounding everything! haha you are the glue!
I would love to see Rob's video on "you're doing war gaming wrong". Lord knows i feels that way. I think it's time to move to skirmish games like Peachy did. also the brown m&ms weren't because they wanted that candy, it was a way to check if the venue actually read the rider and stage instructions. If the bowl didn't appear it showed it was a sign that the pyro or something else might not be setup correctly. I believe it was Van Halen that did that.
Can we please start a petition for the Primarch Royal Rumble? 😆 I need to see Magnus the Red with a steel chair whaling on Leman Russ and Sanguinius chokeslamming Horus through the nearest folding table 😂
Guys this was so much fun
Love the channel! More Badab please.
Been a fan since you were still name dropping Buttstuff Kaiju at the end of your videos
Mate you’re the best lore channel without a doubt. So great to hear more about the man behind the magic. Thanks for all ya do x
What a day it must've been, just walking down the street and you get invited to come on Juggz
Suggz, you don't talk too much, you're having fun. That kind of energy is good for the vibes round the table.
🥹 I do talk quite a lot but only because I'm happy and excited
Is it weird that I think of Peachy Tips, Rogue Hobbies and the Honest Wargamer as 'The Juggz Cinematic Universe'?
Juggz is so massive that it's gravity is pulling everyone together
I identify with this
Juggz: the worlds best podcast
It also has so many tie-ins and crossovers.

It says a lot about this group that Rob, of all people, is the one bringing the conversation back to some semblance of coherency.
The bra, that keeps them together.
I commented on Suggs pro acryl video saying i couldn't get them in China. Monument hobbies replied to my message and put me in touch with a shop in Hong Kong that stocks them and I managed to pick up their last box.

Fuck yeah
I am always amazed at Monument Hobbies efforts on behalf of their customers. Great example to others.

Suggs telling Rob hes not allowed to discuss Rangers of the bloodstone is a clear example of how difficult it is for men in this space
It was another really hard week for the men in the hobby
It was cool seeing Cooler Leutin on Juggz.
I am 100% going to start using that
This podcast is so damn fun. It's got "painting an army together at 4am the day before a tournament" vibes.
"Its a dumb thing but its fun, its an exciting dumb thing" This also describes all of Warhammer. That is what I love the most about Warhammer. The model that got me into the hobby was the Defiler. Giant scuttling crab tank thing. So dumb, so fun.
I always wanted to use the defiler body and cannon as the turret for a leman russ or something...

Bar none Oculus is my favorite lore person, what a delight to have him!!!
I most admire Rob when he talks about his eternal love for Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
Love you guys, I get it's the vibe of pals all chatting and enjoying the hobby but this was a whirlwind of anxiety with talking over each other and tangents. Thanks to Rob for steering things.
Great guest! I’d love to see Arbitorian and/or Mira Manga for future episodes!
This is such a great cast. I love how it appears to be robs job to keep you all on track with your scittish brains! 🤣🤣
I hobbied for over 2 hours straight listening to this. JUGGZ has cured my attention deficit issues. 🥳
Just to confirm for Louise; as an Australian we do love a good Tim Tam Slam

@@roguehobbies Hard agree, Australian and I love tim tam slams, tea or coffee doesn't matter.
I’m loving this podcast, it’s like lockdown with more swearing and better production values and I’m here for it
When I heard the Occulus Imperia voice on Juggz without any warning I sat up like a dog whose owner just said "Walkies". Total geek out moment.
This is the best podcast on the internet. Y'all are so entertaining and I genuinely look forward to every episode.

Louise’s “Charisma Uniqueness Nerve Talent” scale is wildly funny to me.
certainly 20/25/15/22 in D&D terms 🙂

I did not expect jumping from M&M's in band riders to Hannah Arendt. Such a great alchemy and fascinating hosts. I just love it.
