Glad to hear that. I just switched to Armour Thyroid. I know what you mean about the weight gain. And I live in Florida and if I do anything outside in the heat I have the racing heart. I am praying the Armour Thyroid is the answer.
Hello 😊 I have been taking Armor med for many years. I have been okay, 69 years old. Doctor told me it wasn’t good for my age. He gave me 4 samples of different levothyroxine! I tried long time ago, I didn’t like at all, went back to the Armor. So for a month, I am a Guinea pig. 😮😮 Thank you. 😊
Thank you.. You spoke clearly and concisely...gave me more information than I had. Years ago I began Armor but didn't really understand al the ins and outs.. i remain with with cold issues .. Brain fog over several years and now new weight gain (lost 10lbs last year after breaking arm n leg) Now I've started back AMOUR on it a week and doing fine.. Slept great last evening!! ( I've had thyroid issues for more than 20 years ( as did my mom) I took levo for years without improving.. and quit it..( my youngest dtr 35 diagnosed with GRAVES Last years took her 6 mins to get into remission.. ( what is it with last child syndrome? ) So glad to have found your channel.. Have a blessed day!
Like most people, I was prescribed Levothyroxine (T4) and took it for about a year. I started out on 50mcg and then bumped up to 75mcg but my TSH levels were not yet in the normal range so I asked for Liothyronine (T3) 5mcg to be added. After taking it for about 4 weeks, I was re-tested and told my results were in the normal range. I only took this combo for about 3 months before the pandemic. I was house bound with no way to get refills and ended up running out of meds. Its been over a year and I haven't started back on meds which I know is awful:( I have a dr. that is willing to prescribe me Armour if I want to try it. Thank you for explaining them so clearly but I have watched your video twice and still feel so overwhelmed with which choice is best. It sounds like both have several issues which leaves me right back where I started...not knowing which one to take. I could go the traditional route and take Levothyroxine (T4) with Liothyronine (T3) or the NDT route...ugh:( OR is there something else out there that would be better?
I loved the way armour made me feel vs levothyroxion makes me feel but armour really messes with a females monthly so I’ve had to sadly go back to synthetic 😢
I fired 4 Endro's before I found an MD to RX Armour & have done much better on Natural. My question is why do I feel so much better when I eat bacon? At 69 only had 5% blockage on the last Cath. Used to have a lady who would send me recalls on the synthetic hominess.
I took Armour thyroid for 6 months, I felt terrible, tiredness, dizziness, i couldn’t sleep, I gained 20 pounds, hair loss, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, I’m back in levo 100 and lio 5, it’s unbelievable I feel great again, none of those symptoms again
I feel better on NP thyroid, but I seem to have hair loss with it. I am tired all the time with Tirosint and Liothyronine. I also tried Levothyroxine and Synthroid. The synthetic makes my stomach hurt and leaves me tired. Anyway to stop the hair loss?
Thank you for the information. I had my thyroid removed in December of 2021. I've only been given Levo in high doses and then lower throughout the year. I asked my doctor for a full thyroid panel and will see her in person next month. I have a feeling that I need the T3 because I'm not losing any weight at all. My exhaustion has improved slowly since my TT surgery. I will try this cytomel. Perhaps this will work for me. Thanks,
How much are you taking? I was on 25mcg of levo for 2 years. Switched to 30mg of Armour last October because levo was making me itch so bad all over my feet, legs, arms and under my chin. Then Armour made me break out in cystic acne all over the back of my neck, behind my ears, chin and cheeks. Switch to 30mg of NPT and I’m back to square one with the itching. Now I’m taking half of NPT 15mg. I still itch a little. I’m to the point that I’m going to slowly wean myself off.

Does Armour have the highest success rate? What are its inactive ingredients / binders? PS- I gain weight using Tirosint (6 lbs more than Nature-throid). What's a # I can reach you at? I'll share more of My Experience with you :)
I have been taking Armour for several decades. I tried Synthroid for a couple of years. Did not like how I felt so I asked my Dr to put me back on Armour. I feel much better. I have hypothyroid.
@@rhyta5042 I started with Levothyroxine, felt like crap, switched to Armour Thyroid for a few months, still felt like crap, now my new "Endocrinologist" wants me on Unithroid. Been on it a week and still feel like crap. I've switched meds and doctors and will not seeing any improvements.😔
Why does nobody talk about if they were put on steroids, how your thyroid got pushed down, that's what happened to me, now I'm permanently on thyroid medication, my eyes hurt I can't take it anymore I hate my life
None of them are good. Never felt good on any of them. Still struggle on Tirosint. Have been on all of them at one time or another. Even compounded. Armour batches are never the same because every pig is different. So each pill you get is different. I feel like crap on Tirosant. But felt even worse on Armour and NP, Westhroid. No good answer for us.
I’m converting, and I’m on np thyroid, but I’m very small. I’m 105 pounds. My doctor says I’m hypo because my thryroid was low. If I’m converting am I taking the wrong medication?
I can't say for sure, Nancy. Figuring out the dose and proper medication for you is definitely a conversation for your doctor. Knowing what is available helps with having a well-rounded discussion. Use labs and symptoms to inform your choices.
Amorthyroid is not good. I ended up gaining weight so fast and can’t lose it. I weighed 140lbs before and once I started taking this I gained 60 lbs in less then a year. Sending my tsh way up. I didn’t trust my dr after that. I’m not a lab rat and don’t have insurance it’s all paid out of pocket. Far too much stress. I need something with just more t3. Yet my dr disagreed. Have to find a new medication n dr. This is crazy tiring.
Have to change your diet. Keto/Low carb is the only way that will help you lose weight. Thyroid meds do not help you lose. You have to eliminate gluten, dairy, soy, sugar, carbs, alcohol, etc. Lookup Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Eric Berg on TH-cam. They have so many videos oh thyroid issues that will help you with your thyroid and reverse it. They have helped so many people reverse thyroid issues, diabetes, high BP etc. no more pharma drugs. They helped me. I lost 40 pounds last year. I feel great, look great and about to be off NPT soon. I’m in the weaning process now.

I gained 20 lbs with levothyroxine, couldn't take it off, became extremely short of breath. Switched to armour and lbs came off and breath came back.

Levothyroxine definitely made me feel worse. Going to try a natural thyroid med soon and am so scared of side effects again

I have been on Levothyroxine 125 mcg since 2005. I just changed to Armour Thyroid medication 90mg. (April 2024) I can see a difference. I feel better.

Can you address hair loss with both Armour VS Synthroid

I wonder if your doctor prescribed you too high of a dose. Or vice versa. 🤷♀️
Get a second opinion 🤷♀️
I am taking a natural supplement called thyrodine. It works very well:)
Thank you. Doc is going to change my meds to this today. Hoping it works.
Hi Sara, do you take patients one on one online? I am in California and in much need of help, thank you so much

I might try taking zinc daily for hair loss. I was having scalp pain and sensitivity and it made it go away.

I’m having panic attacks on armour thyroid, I was on levothyroxine, I didn’t feel well, but now it’s horrendous now I’m on armour, can you help?
Maybe you need a smaller dose?

My doctor won't change my Levothyroxine, I asked her to give Armor a try but she said she would not😢
Find another doctor.
Change her out!

Hi there and thanks so much for watching. You definitely need to discuss the pros and cons of all meds with your physician.
I have a doctor telling me that Armor Thyroid hormone levels are very inconsistent compared to the synthetic ones. Does anyone know if this is true?
I have been taking Armour for several decades. I tried Synthroid for a couple of years. Did not like how I felt so I asked my Dr to put me back on Armour. I feel much better. I have hypothyroid.

Do you have knowledge of Congenital hypothyroidism?
Is there a difference between Levothyroxine and Synthroid ?
Synthroid is the BRAND name of the medication. Levothyroxine is the generic name.
