I really need to get my PCP to watch this so she understands Hypothyroidism better. There is no endocrinologist where I live in Arizona so I have to depend on my PCP to refill my Armour, which she just got through the insurance game with a preauth and got covered (I'm new here, moved here 4 months ago, and moving outta here in a couple months). I have to depend on myself for dosing. But I've been on it 9 years now (was on synthetics which did nothing for me for about 2 months at first). I started on 30mg but was still too tired after some time passed so I went up to 45mg (a 30 and a 15). I heard what you said about a week ago and now I take my 30 at about 9:30am when I wake up and take the 15 separately in the late afternoon /early evening now. It already seems to be making a bit of a difference. Thank you! I've been so exhausted for the last four months since I got here that I'm thinking about going up to 60mg, and following the same half and half regimen by having only the 30s filled and taking two of them a day, separately. Thoughts?

It's scary. Dr.'s make sure you feel like something bad is going to happen to you if you don't listen to them. Meanwhile, if you lose your insurance, they are really not going to care because you can't pay for services. I don't know what to do. Cause I don't know if anyone is even going to read this message. I believe in natural care, but I don't have enough info to know how to do it myself. If I knew that cutting levo emiediately, waiting 9 days and then starting desicated, I would do it. Is that possible?

So my thyroid Armour that I take I have to take in the morning on an empty stomach so when you take it again around 3:00 p.m. do you have to be fasting or can you just take it even though you have eaten

Why aren't desiccated thyroid meds approved by the FDA? I tried synthroid and didn't find it effective and advocated to try NP or Armour, but my PCP wouldn't prescribe them so I had to pay out of pocket through telemedicine.

I have been on Synthroid only for 25+ years. Recently I tried adding Cytomel generic 5mg and had pounding heartrate and awful jitters. How can this be addressed since 5mg is the lowest dose available? 😢

I have been on Levothyroxine, 125 mcg since 2005. I finally switched to Armour Thyroid 90 mg. How long does it take to lose some weight? I gained weight on Levothyroxine . Do you take your medication the day of labs?
