Just to confirm - Gigantoraptor cant hunt, at least in my tests. The animation from the species field guide is used but its used when chasing medium/large carnivores etc.
The bloody species field guide BLATANTLY LIED about how it "chases prey at high speeds" and how "its prey doesn't stand a chance"
aw, man. Thats the biggest shame Ive ever heard. Should be able to kill humans, just imagine the animation. Im honestly disappointed as all hell. Frontier, fix this! pls. Theyre super freaky, so deserve it. The kill is awesome though, like a hyper aggressive secretary bird or peacock.
That's so ironic considering it is from a predator pack.
Evo confirmed from Frontier, it doesn't hunt anything. Really weird, but it is what it is.

I live in the country. I've got my shit run up by giant birds. So let me tell you something, you won't know fear until a fucking Turkey tries to score a beat your ass. Because you're like it's not gonna do something until you realize how big they really are. And they're not afraid to put you in the fucking dirt.
There's a reason why some breeds of roosters have been seen killing predatory birds.
It’s kind of funny how despite being the mascot for this predator pack, Gigantoraptor barely does any predating.
Such an odd inclusion, but I’m glad to have it. Big guy gives me Cassowary vibes, but on a whole other scale. I’m especially loving the sound design.
I love how Gigantoraptor, Deinocheirus, and Therizinosaurus all just completely violate the large and medium carnivorws
I have seen peacocks do the same with snakes peackock beats snakes with its claws until it dies..so it very cool to see gigantoraptor do the same
Not just peacocks but the world's deadliest bird the cassowary can murk dogs with its dagger like claws

I just find it absolutely hilarious that the large carnivore kill boils down to "Polly wanna catch these feet" and a literal double tap.
Now that we finally have this oversized death chicken in the game, the humans can now experience the same ptsd I get from this Dino from playing Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter.
Those who have played that gem of a mobile game are legends and will understand my fear towards this beast. Oh wait I’ve just realised now that we have both Gigantoraptor & Utahraptor that means we have all the dinosaurs from carnivores dinosaur hunter.

I can relate. Carnivores is how I first learned of this beast of an oviraptorosaur.

Going all secretary bird on the Carno. The giant theropod kill has to be one of the best in the game.
It's a shame that it's underpowered though. It should be stronger than Carno by a considerable margin
I love how much it’s into tap dancing and it is really just giving Palaeognath vibes. Palaeognaths being the group of birds that ostriches, rheas, cassowaries and their relatives are in especially in the those rumbling calls.
A prehistoric cassowary! Perfect to describe it because its sounds reminded me of something like that. 👏👏👏
Ya know. Its kinda good chickens are so small. Cause Gigantoraptor shows what would happen if they were bigger. They would be terrifying. Give him your corn while you can.
That blue one reminds me of the Corythoraptor from Prehistoric Planet. One of the most gorgeous animals in the game.
From the little tapping noise of the beak, to the big dance-move murder stomps, I love them~

Gigantoraptor possibly has the most humorous kill animation of all the dinosaurs in the game. Seeing the way it stomps on its opponents to death got a good laugh out of me! 😂
Fun fact there exist fossilized eggs of a Oviraptorid of similar size to Gigantoraptor in north america.

Anyone else remember when the funniest kill animated was the Iguanodon kicking the crap out of a Velociraptor? This is how far we've come and it's amazing.

Love the animations of this supersized parrot, definitely the most vibrant color scheme of the lot as well!
Look how hilarious is this. It's a reference to D-Frag in which they both flap their wings and shake their heads down and up kinda like how Chitose and Roka are trying to start training by bobbing their heads up and down.

Ok, now that we know the Gigantoraptor can't hunt it makes NO sense for it to be in the predator pack. It CAN'T PREDATE.

I think this is a cool idea. Often in the wild the males are really colourful to attract a mate and females being a little less colourful. You could have 1 brown and another purple with colorful feathers to suggest they are a mating pair. That with some white rocks for an egg clutch then it could look realistic
I'm really bummed out that the Gigantoraptor doesn't hunt, as it was my number 1 for this pack. I was expecting it to predate on some of the much smaller dinosaurs like Homalocephalae and maybe various Ornithomimosauria at the biggest, but it's super dissapointing that it doesn't do anything. It's part of the Cretaceous Predator pack but isn't a predator at all.

It's always "ladies and gentlemen" with you; if you really played JPOG you'd knew she didn't just used that to the visitors.
What a wild and unique addition to the roster... It is very much like a large turkey or chicken, and some of the sounds it makes remind me a bit of peafowl. I really do love the noises it makes, and I feel like you hear them vocalizing a lot -- which makes sense to me. Plus it's fun to have something that's just so different from anything else in the game.
Odd that it can't hunt anything, though.... I feel like it should at least be able to hunt the goat, and the tiny dinosaurs. (I'm imagining the way large birds hunt little lizards and things -- can't you see this thing stomping on some compys? I understand why it wouldn't kill anything bigger, but we have enough tiny critters in the game now that I feel like these guys could hunt down.) But the kills against the medium and large carnivores were pretty great. That's the sort of violence that really seems to suit these guys -- lots of violent kicking.
Some of the colors are great -- some very bird-like color combinations, including the really bright, macaw-like colors.
Kickin' chicken has outplaced Utah from first place now.
I like how medium-sized carnivores get two kicks to the head whilst large carnivores get a mega kick to head
Also forgot to mention when the gigatoraptor kicked the carno it made it blind and impaled by the claw
It reminds me of a type of African bird called a turaco, and the green skin is very reminiscent of a turaco…but an oversized cassowary is probably the closest thing that reminds me of this…

While I do wish it hunted smaller dinosaurs, there's no denying how gorgeous it looks. And honestly? Best sound design in the game for a Dinosaur. Love the clicks and coos it makes.

The gigantic thief,Gigantoraptor is one of the more obscure dinosaurs,hopefully this will give it some prominence
Looks like a hybrid of a cassowary and a terror bird.
Honestly, I am okay with it not hunting anything, because in real life it was probably far more herbivorous than carnivorous anyway. I like how they portrayed it as primarily a grazer that supplements its diet by scavenging meat. I love it, by why the heck is it in a predator pack!

Guys..there's a problem with automatic release: you can not modify genoma so when hatchary releases dinos, they have basic characteristics😢

I was so excited to watch it hunt since they really took advantage of the feet, I can’t say I’m not disappointed in that aspect. Like I was kinda wanting to watch it chase after a goat and bring a mountain’s worth of force down on it, Or give it the old peck of death
