I was playing PS4 one night and PS4 Pro the next night on same TV same settings, apart from graphical/frame rate improvements ... nothing changed with the colours. This is a good thing though, not a negative - as my colours and many other people's colours are already calibrated perfectly with original PS4 - so no change or artificial boost to color is needed nor wanted.
These videos don't seem to render the comparisons properly. I've used both the PS4 and the Pro on my same TV and the differences were frame rate, clarity, and lighting. The color for some games were improved on the Pro assuming it utilized the HDR however, that was a handful of games, only 2 that I had.

The PS4 PRO is superior to the regular PS4. It's more than twice as powerful. I noticed that the colors are more intense on PRO. Loading times and framerate is also superior. Glad I changed to PS4 PRO from a regular PS4.

From my personal experience, games look good on the PS4 but they look GREAT on the PS4 Pro. When you get a 4K TV with HDR support and you see the difference there it's even bigger IMO. I would say that my PC is struggling a bit with 4K gameplay at 60FPS and I already feel that the PS4 Pro is doing a better job on these earlier games which tells me that I'm going to have to buy a new PC pretty soon. I've had my current PC for over 5 years now and have upgraded the video card twice and now feel that the time is coming for me to buy a brand new one to take full advantage of this lovely new TV I got recently without stressing my rig so much.
Can i also point out that PS4 Pro is SATA 3 which means when you insert a SSD your load times will be exceptionally faster. Standard PS4 is SATA 2 and load times slower. This is a real boost for games like FFXV that take over a minute to load a big map.

I recently got a PS4 Slim for about $215 with tax and shipping. No regrets. I didn't own a PS4 yet and have been waiting for a deal. I have 0 intention on doing 4k or HDR gaming and the Pro does little next to nothing for most games at 1080p. To add to that, my computer is a much more powerful machine as it is and is where I game on if I want the really good visuals, so I bought my PS4 for playing exclusives. I know of the 3 variations, it's the one that gets the most flack but a good price is a good price and it works decent enough.

In the PC space, if you go from a Radeon HD 7850 to a RX470, even with bottlenecks from the CPU, the performance difference is much larger. To me, it feels like there aim for this system is mostly for 4k, HDR, and VR with 1080p gaming being an after thought that most developers who support the Pro aren't fully supporting.
I have both the ps4 and ps4 pro playing bf1. It is definitely much smoother and sharper on the pro. There is a noticeable difference playing and none of that shuddering. If you do have any questions or concerns, just message me.
Suicide Gaming the picture quality is superb, i upgraded from a 830c which already has good quality, but the 850d takes it to a new level. colours are v accurate, triluminous display imo is the ace up sony's sleeves. only thing i dont like is the audio.. and 1 day after using the tv i bought a sony ht-ct 80 soundbar and subwoofer. the hdr quality is good too. Most games dont have very good hdr implementation right now save for ratchet and clank and final fantasy xv. and in terms of none 4k content x1 is still the best in business and upscaling quality is better than any other brand.

Dont buy a Pro IF you already own a PS4, the price for the upgrade just isnt worth it. If you absolutely have/want to get a console but dont already own a PS4/X1 then the Pro is slightly more justified. Overall just buy a PC, its a bit more expensive at the start but overtime you will save money and have a much better overall gaming experience.
What people don't get is the graphics are the same cause it is the same game and made with the same graphics. The detail is slightly enhanced that's it. It's like playing a PC game on medium or high difference but it's going to have the same graphics. It's not like a PS3 to PS4 difference even though the PS3 looked pretty good anyway. I played at a friend's psvr on the pro, I was hallucinated how much more immersive than other vr headset, with no visible pixel and a hallucinating 3D encompassing virtually the whole view, I try Farpoint and rush of blood. The feeling of presence is incredible, I advice to all the gamer to try it, on farpoint is violent, extreme precision, but try, because the sensation is very pronounced and takes to the trip. The implication is unbelievable with a good return of very creepy force on the gun even more true than the guns of Time Crisis. Jubilatory, testing with a friend. And I'm not talking about the movie that you can see in 3D on the headset, it's crazy.
Torex But the thing is it's not better the ps4 has a GPU equivalent to a cut down HD 7850. And the ps4 PRO has a GPU equivalent more to a under clocked RX 480 basically a bit faster than a RX470. And if you didn't know that's GTX 970 level. So basically in every aspect the ps4 pro is better than the ps4 with higher FPS and graphical settings can be ultra vs ps4 where it will be medium.
Sorry, I think there's something technically off with the comparison. It's not a direct A/B IMO. The PS4 shows increased contrast and slightly crushed blacks, while the PRO shows an overall brighter image with lifted shadows. It's either you changed the setting on your display or each system is responding differently to the same settings you have on your display. With the images being so far off each other, it's hard to tell if there's any real difference
MW Technology does the ps4 pro work well with the 4k tv LG 40ub8000, the tv you reviewed in 2015. asking this as i see a lot of people complaining about the connection of pro with tvs. and did not get an answer on the tv review video.
I think some of these side by sides with the Pro & normal PS4 he has gotten mixed up, but I have a Pro & im totally satisfied. I had a slim & yes I can definitely tell the difference & its in a good way for the Pro.
Dave thats cause this youtuber has no idea about the shortcuts and cheats that these console developers use to say that it runs in 4k but it actually is not "true 4k". You start to get true 4k at about 10 terraflops, which the ps4pro isnt close too
Looks like the PS4 Pro lets certain games enable AA, better lighting and shadow quality. Texture rendering looks exactly the same... Frame rates were already adequate, and I prefer the sharper image of the original PS4 for couch gaming, so I won't bother upgrading. Good Video :)
You forget to tell that the PS4 Pro has 1 GB extra DDR3 memmory just for running background apps like Netflix or Twitch so more can be spend for graphics rendering etc...
PS4 pro is not worth the extra money. If you want to play Sony exclusives, get the PS4 slim. If you want a 4k capable console for all non-sony games to look at it's best possible, get the Xbox one X.

There doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference, regardless of the different numbers in the specifications. The PS4 Pro doesn't look or perform any better during gameplay.
Read the ps4 game disc case. It has to state *Ps4 Pro Enhanced* . If not stated the game will only play at standard 1080p/30fps even on a Ps5. Not all ps4 games got the ps4 pro enhancement option . Even now only some ps4 games have the free 4k/60fps ps5 patch for Ps5.
What's the point, you also have to buy a 4K monitor/tv, all this expense for a barely noticeable increase in resolution and an increase in frame rate at standard resolutions, BUT NOT IN 4K, and you still have to wait for loading times because it has a normal HDD instead of a SSD.
I want to know if the guy is playing out from a 4k tv with HDR. The PS4 pro works best with HDR. Didn't know at first cuz I thought the pro would work just fine on any 4k TV but I had to get one with 4k HDR and it made a total difference in playing The Last of Us and The Uncharted Collection.

My comment maybe a year late but, the comparison about ports on a regular PS4 is lacking. It Does Have an optical audio port. Unfortunately, The Slim doesn't.

A little late to the party but will this console run in 4k on my LGUB980V ultra 4k TV because my regular ps4 had me questioning whether to buy this one or not.
Original PS4 has better contrast ratio, and the same graphics quality as PS4 Pro, so now, i can definitely conclude the following "Do NOT upgrade to PS4 Pro if you don't have a 4K TV as you will get 0 enhancements, period."
Unless you plan to get the VR at some point stick with the standard. I just upgraded today since I plan to get the VR some point next year. Plus then I can hook my best friend of 25 years up with my replaced standard PS4 for his birthday.
it looks like ps4 Pro has smoother edges and higher contrast whites not to mention frame rates will be better once future games release. my bets on Red dead 2 running faster with even better draw distances but that's next December :)

I played at a friend's psvr on the pro, I was hallucinated how much more immersive than other vr headset, with no visible pixel and a hallucinating 3D encompassing virtually the whole view, I try Farpoint and rush of blood. The feeling of presence is incredible, I advice to all the gamer to try it, on farpoint is violent, extreme precision, but try, because the sensation is very pronounced and takes to the trip. The implication is unbelievable with a good return of very creepy force on the gun even more true than the guns of Time Crisis. Jubilatory, testing with a friend. And I'm not talking about the movie that you can see in 3D on the headset, it's crazy.

Torex But the thing is it's not better the ps4 has a GPU equivalent to a cut down HD 7850. And the ps4 PRO has a GPU equivalent more to a under clocked RX 480 basically a bit faster than a RX470.
And if you didn't know that's GTX 970 level. So basically in every aspect the ps4 pro is better than the ps4 with higher FPS and graphical settings can be ultra vs ps4 where it will be medium.
Sorry, I think there's something technically off with the comparison. It's not a direct A/B IMO. The PS4 shows increased contrast and slightly crushed blacks, while the PRO shows an overall brighter image with lifted shadows. It's either you changed the setting on your display or each system is responding differently to the same settings you have on your display. With the images being so far off each other, it's hard to tell if there's any real difference

Looks like the PS4 Pro lets certain games enable AA, better lighting and shadow quality. Texture rendering looks exactly the same... Frame rates were already adequate, and I prefer the sharper image of the original PS4 for couch gaming, so I won't bother upgrading.

You forget to tell that the PS4 Pro has 1 GB extra DDR3 memmory just for running background apps like Netflix or Twitch so more can be spend for graphics rendering etc...
PS4 pro is not worth the extra money.
If you want to play Sony exclusives, get the PS4 slim.
If you want a 4k capable console for all non-sony games to look at it's best possible, get the Xbox one X.

Read the ps4 game disc case. It has to state *Ps4 Pro Enhanced* .
If not stated the game will only play at standard 1080p/30fps even on a Ps5.
Not all ps4 games got the ps4 pro enhancement option .
Even now only some ps4 games have the free 4k/60fps ps5 patch for Ps5.

What's the point, you also have to buy a 4K monitor/tv, all this expense for a barely noticeable increase in resolution and an increase in frame rate at standard resolutions, BUT NOT IN 4K, and you still have to wait for loading times because it has a normal HDD instead of a SSD.

I want to know if the guy is playing out from a 4k tv with HDR. The PS4 pro works best with HDR. Didn't know at first cuz I thought the pro would work just fine on any 4k TV but I had to get one with 4k HDR and it made a total difference in playing The Last of Us and The Uncharted Collection.
Let's be honest, the difference is negligible, if at all even visible. Imo, it certainly doesn't warrant a purchase of a completely new current gen system.

My comment maybe a year late but, the comparison about ports on a regular PS4 is lacking. It Does Have an optical audio port. Unfortunately, The Slim doesn't.

A little late to the party but will this console run in 4k on my LGUB980V ultra 4k TV because my regular ps4 had me questioning whether to buy this one or not.
Original PS4 has better contrast ratio, and the same graphics quality as PS4 Pro, so now, i can definitely conclude the following "Do NOT upgrade to PS4 Pro if you don't have a 4K TV as you will get 0 enhancements, period."
Unless you plan to get the VR at some point stick with the standard. I just upgraded today since I plan to get the VR some point next year. Plus then I can hook my best friend of 25 years up with my replaced standard PS4 for his birthday.

it looks like ps4 Pro has smoother edges and higher contrast whites not to mention frame rates will be better once future games release. my bets on Red dead 2 running faster with even better draw distances but that's next December :)

Let me make it short for you : Ps4 Pro= 4K (Upscale) + Medium to low settings and Ps4 = 1080p(Native) + Medium to high graphics.
Here is the thing , the comparison should be more like " can you actually tell the difference on 4k tv and is it worth the upgrade cuz the main reason to look into the ps4 pro n upgrade would be because u have a 4k tv , and show the difference not from a prerecorded clip but showing it for the outside perspective of a 4k tv. For example I have a 55inch 4k tv but the old ps4, n the graphic seem so bad in comparison to when I used my small 1080p monitor . I wanna upgrade to ps4 pro but idk if it will actually make any difference .. the recorded gameplay videos dnt really show the difference i need to see
