AltChar Hi can you help me with my question..I have a PS4 which I play gta 5, red dead redemption 2 and other ps4 games on but my frame rate is really bad when I play games like rdr2 and I get lag also when I’m on my PS4 home screen and it’s super slow too. I have the funds to get a PS4 pro but I don’t have a 4K tv yet would you suggest buying a PS4 pro to fix my frame rate and lag problem? And will I still be able to play my favorite game gta 5 on ps4 pro?
Lol, my brothers PS4 Slim sounds like a Regular PHAT PS4 while my PS4 Pro sounds like the PS4 Slim. It’s either the fact that I have only 1 game which is Grand Theft Auto 5 while my brother has a lot of games or the fact that he is playing graphical games. Really not sure though. Anyone have any answers why his PS4 sounds like a Jet Engine? At first when he bought, of course, it was quiet. But he started downloading multiple games, It started getting louder. So maybe it is the games.
Just want to add: i have both the slim and the original ps4 and there is one item that is rarely mentioned that the slim has an advantage over the original ps4 and that is wireless networking. The ps4 slim can now connect to 5ghz wireless networks whereas the original ps4 can only connect to 2.4ghz wireless networks. Now this should not be an issue if you use LAN for your ps4 but for those who use wifi for their ps4 and has 5ghz networks they can definitely feel the difference in wireless performance. My original ps4 disconnects almost 2x as much as my slim one (i use wifi because im too lazy to lay out LAN cables throughout my house). Hope this helps some guys out there. Also it may not look at it on paper but the slim is way lighter than the original ps4 so if you travel alot and would like to bring ur ps4 along the slim is the way to go.
@@josmooth I think any kind of pc etc gets heated in the process of playing heavy games so yes it does get heated but not too much. And you can always buy a cooling stand :) make sure to keep the room cool like keep your Ac/fan turned on etc. Keep your play station in a cool environment Hehe

Never owned a Pro but my preference is about performance. Talk about 1080p @ 60FPS. In most cases PS4/Slim basically performs the same but differs from temperature and noise. Pro on the other side, once you update the version which gives a "Boost Mode" option, games are quite good as if you play nearly 60FPS in any other games (may vary). Pro is worth upgrading even without 4K HDR support. When you play games on the PS4 from "2013 - before the release of Pro", I'd say the Pro is legit.
I have the standard PS4, I love it because it looks very awesome and its edges are kind of sharp. And I love how the light strip is on the top. The only flaw is, well, you know, the fan. Like, it feels like its gonna explode if it runs bit longer. (Its all my opinion, you're the boss of yours!)
The original PS4 is the best looking. The slim is the quietest. The pro is the most powerful. I'd love a quiet PS4 with the design of the original PS4 and the power of the pro.
I got a standard PS4 when it first came out, then in 2016 I got the PS4 Pro. I am really satisfied the Pro, it also helps that I have a 4K TV which can take full advantage of the Pro's hardware. If you have a 4K with HDR, I definetely recommend getting a Pro. You won't be disappointed.
I had the standard PS4 and upgraded to the Pro. I'm only using a 1080p TV but can honestly tell you I notice a difference with a select few games such as horizon zero dawn and The last of us remastered. The picture seems brighter, better fps (especially TLOU) and more crisp visuals. Loading times are slightly faster too. The console handles 4k video beautifully even though you don't get the full experience without the supported TV, still looks stunning.
unfortunately you have been under the influence of the placebo effect . The visual aren't crispier if you have a 1080p display , they are exactly the same , the brighter picture is also weird and probably just the same , loading times are probably cuz this is a new console and your old one is probably full of games and lastly the FPS which yes they are indeed more but other than that , everything else is the same . You can't see the difference on a 1080p monitor from 4k to 1080p unless the game is rendering in 4k but your monitor downscales it to fit your display .

Big difference is (fan)noise as well.. Original makes the most noise by some margin, Slim is by far the most quiet, Pro is a bit more noisy then Slim but still (a lot) more quiet the original..
Blast Superior If you're looking forward to FPS boosting, 4K resolution and HDR then the Pro It's the best option, if you look too the power consumption saving, quieter noise, and small size then the slim will do great aswell.

jay plays Ikr. I mainly bought it for the extra perfs and for the fact that it uses the SATA-III interface instead of SATA-II. You can throw a Samsung 850 Pro in there and get insanely fast loading times (for a ps4 indeed. Those are nothing compared to a computer's). The pro is so much better... was worth more pounds but so worth it...
I had been wanting a PS4 for years and when I finally had enough saved up I went for the PS4 Slim; it has a nice easily stored size while also having way more game storage space then the original versions I had seen.
I got PS4 Pro. I'm overall satisfied with it. 4k display is different to lower ones. My advice is take up PS4 Pro if you have a 4k TV display and have a budget for it. Otherwise get the original or slim. Upgrade from PS4 to Pro is not necessarily
I've a 1080P 110" projector/screen so upgraded from the PS4 to the PS4 Pro for supersampling as on the large screen, aliasing was significant. The supersampling and/or enhanced games are clean and, barring HDR, really do a decent job of looking 4K. Until I get a new projector, this was the best option for me and it's been excellent, very noticeable, especially as I use an XB1X on my 4K OLED. Good article!

I had a PS4 Pro for 2 years. It overheated and I cannot get a signal from it. I had a professional look at it, and it was impeccably clean inside. It may have been from bad hardware, but idk. I want a new console, but I think I may go for the slim this time.
Definitely going with original ps4. At certain stores the original ps4 is about $20 - $30 dollars cheaper than the slim. And as I, a 12 year old, don't have the christmas money to afford a pro, i see the origanal is the best option. Also the ps4 as mentioned in the video has an optional audio output.
I don't have a 4k TV, but still I can't help but wonder if the enhanced power of the pro would be worth it anyways for shorter load times and better performance?? As a PC gamer I'm used to blazing fast loading and insanely good performance.

We think it is - investing in the Pro is definitely worth it, even if you don't have a 4K TV. It's the most powerful PS4 on the market and it can only get better with time.

I use to own a PS4 Original, got like 30 frames in most games I played and stuttered a lot aswell as my controller would randomly turn off for no reason, then I got a PS4 pro, 60fps every game 1080p looks crisp smooth and no issues with lag spikes or my controllers disconnecting for no reason My honest Experience :)

I’ve had my normal PS4 for about a year now with no problems. The only reason I would consider upgrading my PS4 is when I want to completely switch over to a 4K entertainment system which I’m planning on doing by the end of this year or beginning of next year.
Correct me if I'm wrong.. But wouldn't the difference in power consumption be much more significant than just saving a few dollars on your electric bill? I'm pretty sure that 2 machines with the exact same hardware would run significantly different when taking the huge power consumption gap into account. My GTX1660ti in my laptop(80w) preforms, roughly, only half compared to the same hardware in a desktop(115w). I'm pretty sure that power consumption isn't negligible, rather, one of the most important aspects to take into consideration. Like I said though, please correct me if im wrong.

Big difference is (fan)noise as well.. Original makes the most noise by some margin, Slim is by far the most quiet, Pro is a bit more noisy then Slim but still (a lot) more quiet the original..

I mainly bought it for the extra perfs and for the fact that it uses the SATA-III interface instead of SATA-II. You can throw a Samsung 850 Pro in there and get insanely fast loading times (for a ps4 indeed. Those are nothing compared to a computer's).
The pro is so much better... was worth more pounds but so worth it...
I had been wanting a PS4 for years and when I finally had enough saved up I went for the PS4 Slim; it has a nice easily stored size while also having way more game storage space then the original versions I had seen.

I got PS4 Pro. I'm overall satisfied with it. 4k display is different to lower ones. My advice is take up PS4 Pro if you have a 4k TV display and have a budget for it. Otherwise get the original or slim. Upgrade from PS4 to Pro is not necessarily

I've a 1080P 110" projector/screen so upgraded from the PS4 to the PS4 Pro for supersampling as on the large screen, aliasing was significant. The supersampling and/or enhanced games are clean and, barring HDR, really do a decent job of looking 4K. Until I get a new projector, this was the best option for me and it's been excellent, very noticeable, especially as I use an XB1X on my 4K OLED. Good article!

At certain stores the original ps4 is about $20 - $30 dollars cheaper than the slim. And as I, a 12 year old, don't have the christmas money to afford a pro, i see the origanal is the best option. Also the ps4 as mentioned in the video has an optional audio output.

Guys ps 4 pro is for online type of games such as fortnite cuz its long range graphics are better for online experience you can detect enemies or things in it but im mostly offline gamer but still use pro cuz i want the best fps
Just a reminder, beside 4k res, the PS4 Pro also offers 60 fps/1080p for newer games and for most old games through boost mode.

There's a sale going on right now for a Playstation 4 Slim, a gold version, with 1 TB of memory for $250. I was debating on either that or the Pro, but I don't have a 4K TV. Is it worth spending the extra $150 just for better frame rates on a 1080p TV?
We think it is - investing in the Pro is definitely worth it, even if you don't have a 4K TV. It's the most powerful PS4 on the market and it can only get better with time.

I use to own a PS4 Original, got like 30 frames in most games I played and stuttered a lot aswell as my controller would randomly turn off for no reason, then I got a PS4 pro, 60fps every game 1080p looks crisp smooth and no issues with lag spikes or my controllers disconnecting for no reason

I’ve had my normal PS4 for about a year now with no problems. The only reason I would consider upgrading my PS4 is when I want to completely switch over to a 4K entertainment system which I’m planning on doing by the end of this year or beginning of next year.
Correct me if I'm wrong.. But wouldn't the difference in power consumption be much more significant than just saving a few dollars on your electric bill? I'm pretty sure that 2 machines with the exact same hardware would run significantly different when taking the huge power consumption gap into account. My GTX1660ti in my laptop(80w) preforms, roughly, only half compared to the same hardware in a desktop(115w). I'm pretty sure that power consumption isn't negligible, rather, one of the most important aspects to take into consideration. Like I said though, please correct me if im wrong.
