Been in business all my life, never failed in any business, bit of advice, control your phone, it’ll make you ill, well done Tom.
Thanks for the support Paul, I carry two phones and it really gets me when they are both ringing at the same time
That's good advice. My phone has a lot of control over me, puts me in a case and uses me to call people.
So I leave it on silence once i manage to detach it from my hand and place it far away. Still finds me.
Another good trick is to place it in a box when you get in the house.
See you at the next probes anonymous session. Yet leave the phone behind.
Look after yourself Tom, try and enjoy your weekend, I’ve never been disappointed with any of your vids mate.
Thanks for the support as always Charles, have a great weekend 👍
Have a good weekend Tom, hope you're feeling better.
Thanks for the support as always Steve, I'm on the mend now thankfully
another good job tom even when your well under the weather. sitll managed to film it ! all the best mate . in your own words hope your keeping well
Thanks for the support Derek, I'm feeling much better now thankfully
O heck tom nothing worse been ill and having to work in an attic .
Like you say we have all done it and a struggle.
Hope you feel better soon ..👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always John, I'm on the mend now
Another great job Tom, take it easy this weekend and have a good rest if you can
Thanks for the support as always mate, looking forward to putting my feet up and watching some football
Book yourself a nice holiday Tom, you deserve it mate. For someone who is studying domestic renewable energy (plumbing) level 3, your videos help me a lot. So thank you mate 🙏
Thanks for the support Lee, I've not had a holiday in quite a few years now, I might treat myself later on in the year
Great video only problem I have is get a pair off adjustable spanner’s lol
Fair point, when I'm working in an attic I tend to chuck a few bits in a bucket that I need, I forgot to put my spanner in and I couldn't be bothered to go down and get it, thanks for watching
Hi Tom you need to take a couple of days off mate, i know it's easier said than done but the benefits of rest are the more work you'll get done, good job as always, look after yourself have good weekend off, doctors orders😁
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm having this weekend off, next week looks busy again though but I'm feeling much better now
Tom buddy, I know you don't like tagging days off but sometimes mate you just HAVE TO!
It really REALLY is not worth killing yourself for.
Besides that, if you ended up in hospital as a result how many days of work would you lose then.
Ok lecture over.
Great video as always mate. Take care.
Thanks for the support as always Simon, I'm all good now, I was just feeling a bit under the weather
hope your better soon tom, its important to rest when ill! take some extra vitamin C, helps loads . love that press tool, so fast and easy... 😁
Thanks for the support as always Pete, it is greatly appreciated 👍
Hope you’re better very soon Tom; as you say there’s nothing worse than working when you’re unwell - especially in a loft!
The elbow near the roof shows how useful pressing is - it would be a bit worrying soldering that close to the roofing felt!
Thanks for the support as always Steve, press certainly does come in handy, I still prefer the look of soldering but press does make life easy
You definitely earned your corn today. Well done. Have a relaxing weekend cheers.
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm looking forward to putting my feet up and watching some football this weekend 👍
you've done a good job Tom. 👍
Thanks for the support as always Steve
Hopefully you get a good rest this weekend, not great having to push on when you feel ill, all of us who are self employed have been there at some point!
Thanks for the support as always Paul, it's never nice working when ill, I'm on the mend now though thankfully 👍
Have a good weekend Tom, hope you're feeling better soon mate
Thanks for the support as always Keith, hope you have a great weekend
Hi Tom, yep mate it’s always a struggle when you are under the weather, the press tool sure made life easier in that attic.
Hope all went well with the remainder of the job, get some rest this weekend to help you recover.
As always take care mate, hope you are feeling better now. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, the press tool is proving to be a good investment, I still think soldering looks better though, have a great weekend
@@PlumbLikeTomyep, I definitely agree with you. 👍👍👍
Under pressure! You did it!! well done, never good working when you are feeling ill, especially in a loft, I hate lofts cos I'm 6'2"!!
Phil
Thanks for the support as always Phil, at least it's not been too hot yet and that loft wasn't full of fibre glass
Like alot of others said, take care of yourself. I always enjoy your videos. There are always entertaining.
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm feeling much better now thankfully
Take it easy Tom. Get some rest and enjoy the weekend. Great job by the way. Love to know about about your self, hobbies, pastimes, family life?maybe you that can be your next video?.
Thanks for the support Max, I could certainly do a video talking about my hobbies in the future
Anther interesting video Tom . Hope you get well soon .
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm on the mend now
Well done Tom, great effort.
Thanks for the support as always James
Hope you feel better. Amazing work as always. Press makes life easier but something about watching soldering is hypnotic.
Thanks for the support mate, I still prefer to solder, I fitted a couple of boilers last week in solder joints so I will post them at some point
Tight job Tom. Look after yourself
Thanks for the support as always Brain
Keep up the good work m8
Really enjoy following your working days 😀 👍
Thanks for the support Steve, I'm so pleased you enjoy my videos
As always, bud top vid.
Thanks for the support Christian
Great video as always 👍
Thanks for the support as always Ian
Great video Tom. Press tool is earning its keep. Hope you feel better soon. 😎👍
It's certainly making life easier, soldering looked better though, thanks for watching as always PB 👍
Nice tidy job again Tom, you take care, terrible feeling ill at work, try get some rest, you work too hard. 🚽👍
Thanks for the support as always Peter, hope you have a great weekend
4% expansion x 30 litres is 1.2 litres if my mental arithmetic is holding up. 2L vessel should be fine.
Hope you feel better soon buddy, quality work as always😊
I can't find anything about the 4% rule but that's what I was told, normally on these you get a 8l with every other manufacture, I did swap it for an 8l as I carry on in my stores, thanks for the support as always Tom
Any video is a win for us as viewers . Take it easy if you czn. I have been working long hours recently and it's caught up with me. Feel rough this week. So I know what it's like .
Thanks for the support as always mate, hope you're feel better soon, long hours do get to you
Very nice work Tom,you’ll always find something you not planned for at least you had a bit of a floor to work on. Having too change the shower cable to a 10mm T/E but hay ho 😂😂 at least the football is coming on 👍👍👍👍👍
Hope you are getting on well with your project, things always crop up unexpectedly, have a great weekend 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom yes I know my nose will not stop running, must be something going round get your feet up on Sunday and keep the fingers crossed 🤞 👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺and thanks for the video Tom looking forward too the next one 👍👍
Great effort thanks fo vid..
Thanks for the support as always Tim
Great job 😊😊😊😊
Thanks for the support as always Ross
Surely fishing a 90 bend down to harry would of been easier
You are right, I normally loop a bend in from underneath to get it out of the corner but my mate had already put it in before I realised how tight to the eaves it was, thanks for watching mate
I just fit one today 😂 mine one was 15 L , less safety components. Good job tho , I always dislike when manufacturers provide you expansion vessels without brackets …
Thanks for the support as always mate, I hate that too, every expansion vessel should come with a bracket, I saw one the other day where someone had used a soil pipe clip for those 2l ones, I might nick that idea
🤘😎🤘
Thanks for the support Wayne, hope you have a great weekend 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom You too Bud keep,plugging away 🤘😎🤘🫖☕️🍪🎥👍👍
The worst place to work is in lofts and when you are not well… Its twice as bad
I know mate, at least it's not been too hot, thanks for the support as always
You need to take up speilunking if you can get in spaces like that lol
I certainly do Tom, thanks for watching as always, have a great weekend 👍
Hi Tom , interesting video for me as Ive never used 'press fit' , been tempted but dont know if its worth investing in equipment / fittings .
It is an expensive investment but does save some time. I still think soldering looks neater though. My gun with the jaws up to 35mm was 1200 plus vat, that included 2 batteries and a case. Thanks for the support as always Chris, have a great weekend 👍
I can literally save around 75% of time using my press gun compared to soldering. Haven't had the soldering bag off the van in months. Only time I'd use it now is if it's client spec on site.
Hey Tom, i really love your videos.
Have you stopped soldering for the most part? i still solder, but i'm wondering, since you are using press a lot more recently, what's your opinion on it? Is it as good as soldering in terms of quality?
I'm asking because i value your expertise and would like to know if maybe i should start using press more too.
Thank you so much, not just for your answer, but your videos too.
Press is quicker and easier but I still think solder joints look neater. I've done a couple of boilers this week in solder fittings as I just prefer the look. The job in the video was perfect for press though as it was all roof work. You can rattle in the pipework quite a bit quicker and the extra cost of the fittings more than pays back in time when on a price. It's a nice thing to have but both have their place. I've just priced a large job and everything has to be pressed, thanks for watching 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom Thanks for the reply. I can definitely see how it's a lot quicker and easier. I'll look into using press and plastic pipe for long runs and everything that won't be seen, but for work that's on display i'll definitely still use solder. I also just enjoy soldering so much more. But that's not a matter of quality, just my personal experience.
Anyway, i really enjoy all of your videos, when i first found your channel, i went all the way back to your first video, and just went through all of them from there.
So thank you for making them!
Hi tom...
A question.. open vented heating system that is pumped.. the vent pipe has started to drip into the f/e tank but not overflowing. The upstairs rads are not heating up either.. could this be the pump not circulating or blockage inbthe pipe work??
I would be looking for a restriction around the pump, start with a magnet on the pipes and see if it sticks, if the system has an air sep I would certainly be starting there. The pump may also have gone weak though, or the system may be boiling a bit. Hope that helps
@@PlumbLikeTom much appreciated thanks
Great install bud ! I’ve done one similar and had a snag basically saying that the prv is a dead leg what would your thoughts on this be ? Just unsure on the best action to take
It's one of them where you need to get a drop on the prv see you need to lift it up, Technically a dead leg is an unused part of a system that has no function but prvs do, it's similar to long runs for expansion vessels. My thinking is everything that side of the check valve passes through 60 water so the risks are minimal. It's probably not ideal but by no means the worst you will ever see, thanks for watching mate 👍
Cheers mate that was my thoughts exactly I might just redo it to save agro you know what it’s like lol
My boss would say too many dead legs on that. We would have to put expansion vessel where that cold feed tee is. Then tee across where the prv is then bring it back down to the water heater so it all flows. I get what u saying about the double check though
Do you have plenty of work on ? Most Plumbers are struggling . .Even on the forums .
I seem to be ok, the last few weeks have been really busy and the next few are looking busy as well. I am having to work harder and chase leads more than I was but work is still coming in and the phone keeps ringing.
Жмём понравилось и подписываемся, набираем 10к. Тому добра👍
Thanks for the support as always, we are getting close to the big 10k
@@PlumbLikeTom Том друг, подскажи какова цена материалов, метр трубы, фитинга? Давно ли перешёл на пресс?
A 3m length of 15mm copper is about £7, 15mm press elbows work out roughly £1.35 each so 3 times the price of a soldered one
@@PlumbLikeTom Спасибо, по курсу дешевле, чем у нас 😭
@@PlumbLikeTom 1 метр 15 мм трубы 960 рублей, уголок 15 мм 320 рублей.
Hi Tom take a step back m8t sounds like your doing to much you need to chill talk slower deep breaths …was very good video nevertheless bud..will cost you a few quid using all those press fits lol…take care m8t z👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always mate, the press fittings work out roughly 3 times the price of end feed, I'm looking at buying them in bulk to save more. I've just priced a huge job with 7 bathrooms and 11 bedrooms, all new services and it's all spec'd to be press by the client's designer so I really do need to find a good price on fittings
