Great video Tom. Don’t burn yourself out mate.
Thanks for the support as always mate, It is greatly appreciated
Hi Tom, a great jobbing film thank you. Your family business certainly keeps you very busy. I know you enjoy the work but don’t get burned out because if you do it’s a long way back. Hope you had some time off over weekend. Take care Tom 🍻👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, it is greatly appreciated
Well done Tom, no filters and fancy filming just work as it really is. Good and bad days and we all hope to have more of the good than the latter. Have a good weekend.
Thanks for the support mate, glad you enjoyed the video, hope you have a great weekend 👍
Great selection of jobbing jobs there Tom Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the support as always Keith
Handy tip for you tom, when you have a pipe under ground you cant pin point, put a cheap bottle of after shave or perfume in system, then run the system for a couple of days and tell customer to sniff out where the leak is for you. Keep up the good work bud, like your work eithic!
That actually sounds like a good idea for totally hidden leaks, I do have a thermal camera which comes in handy, luckily the two in the video were fairly obvious as there were signs on the carpet, thanks for watching as always mate
@PlumbLikeTom another plumber told me that trick, and I use it all the time now in my diagnosing. Works like a charm!
Nice work all round there Tom , you’re looking a bit rundown, got to look after yourself, have a good weekend 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Tom, hope you have a great weekend too
Great work and well done..........what a day !!!

We have to worry, it is a balancing act, thanks for watching as always mate, have a great weekend

It does wear you down .see if you can take a small break to get back into the rhythm.
And some jobs that take a bit longer or have more problems don't help .👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always John
Hope you manage to get a rest buddy have a nice weekend and look after yourself. 👍

Working hard Tom, have a good weekend.
Thanks for the support as always Steve 👍
well tom you do get these jobs ;thats real plumbing work ;;
Thanks for the support as always Malcolm, hope you have a great weekend
Well done mate be careful you don’t burn yourself out 🤔👏😎
Thanks for the support as always Neil, have a great weekend
That pipe is from the late 70s when we fell out with Rhodesia and couldn’t get copper, the stuff that was made was shit! You couldn’t bend it had to use fittings everywhere.
It certainly did fell like YTW but I couldn't see the red band on it, like you say it was used in the 70's when there were copper shortages, thanks for watching John
You are busy and rushed off your feet Tom, because you are good at what you do.
But you also need to think about yourself ie know when it’s time to rest, otherwise you will burn yourself out.
Stay safe mate
Thanks for the support as always mate, last couple of weeks have been really busy, next week is looking more normal, have a great weekend
Keep going Tom
Thanks for the support Josh
Another great, interesting, video Tom, thanks!
Hopefully you won’t get burnout - of course it’s almost impossible to balance work and relaxation when running a small business, as work tends towards feast and famine cycles.
Regardless, your hard work in making these interesting and informative videos (after all the massively hard work actually doing the jobs!) is very much appreciated.
Thanks for the support as always Steve, it is greatly appreciated
Well done tom keep peddling 👍👍
Thanks for the support as always mate, have a great weekend
Don't apologise.
It's good that you are busy because others aren't. And these were all interesting jobs
Thanks for the support mate, glad you enjoyed the video, hope you have a great weekend
Nice video, I like the way you questioned why they didn’t replace float valve when changing flexi hose, then left it with a cracked split flush lever arm 😂
I did change it in the end, I didn't film it though, I only had an 1hour on the van parking so just ran out of time to film the last bit, thanks for watching Paul
@@PlumbLikeTom top man 👍
good plumbers are hard to find! when you find one things get very busy very quickly! Put your prices up until you can cope with the amount of jobs per day!!
phil
Thanks for the support as always Phil, I don't really want to put my prices up to be honest, last few weeks have just been really busy, have a great weekend 👍
Have a break Tom, you look exhausted. Work life balance is important. Take care.
Thanks for the support as always mate, have a great weekend 👍
Have a few days away somewhere Tom, the break will do you good pal 👍🏻
Thanks for the support as always Shaun 👍
The copper pipe which sounded so light was from the 70s when there was a shortage of copper pipe and what was available was thin walled pipe. Couldn't bend it.
I couldn't see the red band on it but it did feel very much like YTW, I guess the banding may have come off over the years, thanks for watching Richard
Busy times Tom, but make some time for yourself, you work hard, and to finish a blocked urinal , I hope you charge plenty 💰take care 🚽👍
Thanks for the support as always Peter, you can't beat a blocked urinal to end the day, have a great weekend 👍
Great vid Tom, I run my own building firm have done for 15 plus years .
Little advice mate slow down will burn yourself out dude I was the same up till around 3 years ago ,till I hit that wall and realised was time to take it easy .
Great work though dude 👌
Thanks for the support mate, it's difficult trying to juggle everything, I don't like turning work away as you never want another plumber taking your customers
Ya know it's bad when Tom's got gloves on!
You looked completely done on that outro mate, remember you work to live, not live to work, all the best
Thanks for the support as always mate, it felt like a long week last week
Had same in 70s bungalow no pipes!we're lagged so had rum to re run getting surface
Nice vid Tom, enjoy a weekend of rest. Well deserved marra 😜
Thanks for the support as Charles, have a great weekend 👍
Chin up Bud keep grinding away 🤘😎🤘🫖☕️🍪🎥
We keep plodding along Wayne, thanks for the support as always
@@PlumbLikeTom Same here Buddy just with more buscuits 🤣🤣🤣🤣🫖☕️🍪
Yep. Been there bud...don't want a burst blood vessel. Take care
Thanks for the support mate 👍
Don't apologise, these videos are always interesting!
Thanks for the support as always mate
Great video Tom 👍😎 How are you getting on with the new press tool ?
Thanks for the support as Pb, it is speeding the jobs up, I am still soldering some stuff but pressing is just that bit quicker, have a great weekend
Ah Tom disappointed though u would have changed the washer when u could not the whole ball valve.
Hope you have the holidays booked don't forget life isn't all about work and you'll enjoy work more after a break
Fair point mate, I find those old style vertical ball valves with the arms are really prone to fog Horning, you sometimes end up with a call back if you just change the washer as they make a horrible noise, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Time to get a passport Tom and take a trip to the canaries
I don't have a passport, I've never actually been abroad, thanks for the support as always Darren
hi Tom .. charge a few more bobs for jobbies and you ll regulate worke . lol boss white n flax
I don't really want to put my prices up, I feel I'm about right and fair, I always think customers look after us as much as we look after them, thanks for watching as always Mike
Great video again Tom, just for context is it your company ?
It's a family business, it's mainly construction and electrical to be honest, I just try to run the plumbing side and look after my guys the best I can, thanks for watching mate
And you do a great job of that mate! @@PlumbLikeTom
@@PlumbLikeTom you do a good job mate 👍
Another good video Tom
I love my job at the end....cracked me up. 😂
Sounds like your over booking jobs for yourself?
Thanks for the support as always mate, I just try to get round as many jobs as possible in a day, it's not always easy
👍🏻👍🏻as always Tom, are a lot of these jobs schools half term?
Thanks for the support as always Danny, non of these were school jobs in the video, I have been busy in the schools though
can you help me out where the regs are that require an rpz valve above 60kw? thanks
Thanks for watching mate, I remember being told when I did my RPZ valve course 60kw was the cut off, this information may be slightly mis leading though as I can't seem to find it now. All it says it that anything 'non housed' is considered fluid cat 4. That means it must be filled via an auto top up or rpz as a standard fill loop won't give adequate protection. It appears you can apply to the the water board to have the install downgraded to category 3, so I guess this is where they may use the 60kw on a case by case basis. Technically a small combi feeding one radiator in a scout hut for instance, should be treated as cat 4, but this is why the exemption is in place. Below is an extract from the regs.
The industry considers a primary circuit in a house to be Fluid Category 3. A non-house system is considered Fluid Category 4 by default, however there is an option to ask the local water company to risk asses the
heating system and potentially downgrade it to Fluid Category 3 (this is based on the size of the system
and the type of chemicals used). The idealistic concept of first identifying the Fluid Category and then choosing an appropriate device has its limitations.
Am I right in saying that they used to wrap them in denso tape
Mostly they used to use hair felt type lagging that breaks down when it gets wet, you only really see denso on outside pipes or steel pipes, it is better though, thanks for watching
Not like you Tom using press in ground, should be soldered 😂😂
You're probably right, water in the pipe is sometimes a pain though, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Press in the ground is the least of the problems with that pipework😂
How about a flexy fitting like you use on taps 🤣. Im sure you'll bend some copper...
You can't beat copper, flexis have their place though, thanks for watching John
🌕🕰️🕰️🕰️⏰⏰⏳⌚⌚For an apprentice Tom 🎉🎉🎉
I'm still thinking about it, apprentices are the future, thanks for watching as always Paul 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom have a stress free weekend tom 👍👍👍
Never liked those wall plates for the outside tap that reason of not always being able to get a good fixing when sleeving. Can't go wrong with a wall plate elbow.
Fair point, I think these do look slightly neater but like you say can be a pain to get fixings, thanks for watching
That gas pipe buried like that wtf gas safe would have a fit 😂
It wasn't the best was it, thanks for the support as always Andy
No use to you now of course, but in France they have pre bent tube which they call "chapeau gendarme" pre bent like the first one you removed.
do ya offer finance to customers ?
No, it's not something I've ever done, thanks for watching
Braver man than me after seeing that urinal Tom
It was probably my favourite job of the day, thanks for the support as always Tom
you need a holiday ... a long one. But then you might not want to come back
That's the only problems with holidays, thanks for watching mate
i never change an aav now without putting a valve under it
Thats red band
You gota look after yourself mate, the work will always be there just remember health over wealth.
Thanks for the support Ashley
just think of all the money you are earning Tom do it wile you are young and can still do it
Thanks for the support as always Kevin
