To be honest I wanted to get the job done, I hate it when jobs kick around ages, I would sooner wait half an hour than have to go back, thanks for the support as always Pb
Just had the misfortune to employ our 'village plumber' to move a radiator from one wall to another, about 6 feet away. Don't know how long it would take the average plumber but after 5 hours I sacked him and finished the job myself. He didn't even get to re-fill the system and I even fitted the wall brackets for him 😮. I'll put money on him not having a single qualification.
already subscribed 👍 yey a midweek vid, thanks tom, hope your feeling better. thats so rude of people not letting you in. i'd tell them to eff off find someone else to sort crap out, your not short of work
Hi Tom, a nice selection of plumbing jobs that made another nice film, thank you. I have seen a few one pipe systems in my time but not seen any for a very long time now. Hope you are now feeling better after last week being under the weather. Hope you soon reach the 10k subscribers, it’s well deserved, take care Tom. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, you don't see too many one pipe systems in domestic settings now, if it was my house I would certainly be looking at upgrading the system. I'm feeling much better now thankfully
Hi Tim I’ve been in the heating game over 40 years and have never seen a rad piped like that. As you said I bet that rad has never worked When we installed one pipe systems we used what are called Armstrong tees which had an internal flute to direct the water that was on mild steel installations 🤝
I got told off once by site health and safety once for using it under a stairs gluing up my soils, I said to the guy where else am I supposed to do it if that's where the soils need to be, thanks for watching mate 👍
Great content as always. With that bypass, would the reason they have done it is because there are TRV on the rads, if the TRV turns off, it would kill the whole system. With the bypass, at least the water has somewhere to go. Who knows, just my tuppence worth 🤗
It might have been, I would have thought it would have just turned that leg off if the trv shut, we will find out when I go back to put them back on, thanks for watching 👍
Nice work Tom ,your not complaining your stating fact Tom and it doesn’t look as if it’s been in that long 👍👍👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴👌👌👌
I have only seen a one pipe system in a domestic house once , customer complaining the bathroom radiator was luke warm. Was the last on the upstairs circuit so no susprise it wasn't warm. That vertical radiator might get warm at the bottom but nowhere else.
If you draw it out on paper (I did lol) it's actually correct. If there wasn't a TRV the 'bypass' wouldn't be there and it would just be a normal one-pipe system.
@@PlumbLikeTom most fun to watch haha. Or accidents? I'm a service mechanic myself for combi boilers here in the Netherlands. Always interesting watching u.
@@PlumbLikeTom That's kinda how it's supposed to be although perhaps not the best layout, the bypass should've been across the bottom between the left and right pipes but I suspect the radiator may still warm up.
It hard somedays working for yourself, sometimes I wish I still worked for someone and didn't have to worry about what jobs I've got and where the next ones are coming from, thanks for watching 👍
Mmmmmm not so sure these days to be honest. 90s was the heyday. Jobs have to be churned so fast now that you can’t stop to smell the roses. And then you have a heart attack or something from the constant stress
No access outside or access to the property/residence then bye bye….see you get some other mug if it’s convenient for them…simple as that…my time and experience is wanted elsewhere 😜🇬🇧👍🏻
What a silly attitude. Did time doing maintenance in a care home, deputising for the maintenance manager when he was off. Look after your trades and they will look after you 👍
It's the first time I've ever really had anything like that happen, you get times where customers forget and don't show up though but I've never been not let in, thanks for the support as always

I’m putting all my faith in that gate valve… brilliant! It sums it up perfectly
It is a roulette with them, thanks for watching mate
Great selection of jobs Tom, well done with that gate valve, especially on a Friday afternoon lol. 👏👏👍
Thanks for the support as always Andy, I was risking it with the gate valve
Great vid! You have more patience than me mate, I wouldn’t have waited 40 mins! Haha top lad!
I stood at the door as well, I didn't want to sit in the van in case I missed them, thanks for the support as always
Great video Tom 👍😎 you waited 35 minutes longer than i would have 😁
To be honest I wanted to get the job done, I hate it when jobs kick around ages, I would sooner wait half an hour than have to go back, thanks for the support as always Pb
I really enjoy watching your videos Tom. Hope you get to 10k soon mate.
👍 10k
Thanks for the support as always mate, hopefully in the next couple of months

I'm sorry to hear that mate, hopefully you managed to get it all sorted, thanks for watching
liked the speeded up diggin, sounded like a drum'n bass tunes 🤣
Really appreciate the video's Tom, thanks for the time spent creating them. Hope you're feeling better!

Thanks for the support mate, it was a new one on me as well, I think the heat might creep into that rad, but thats about all it will get
I used to love using polypipe cement 🤪 especially in enclosed spaces
I got told off once by site health and safety once for using it under a stairs gluing up my soils, I said to the guy where else am I supposed to do it if that's where the soils need to be, thanks for watching mate 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom yeah! It hardens in a few seconds so you were right. It’s very potent though
Top vid Tom, you seem to have a great mixture of jobs, unlike other you tube plumbers. Keep it up mate and stop poking your fingers in your eyes 😀
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm so pleased you enjoy my videos

And if they don't work it's you who is going to get the blame! They will swear blind it worked before.
The grip it wall plug undercutting tool works well as a nice internal pipe cutter even got depth gauge , £8 screwfix
I will check it out, thanks for watching mate 👍

Thanks for the support as always mate, I doubt it works at all, it might creep up a bit, we will find out when I go back to put them back on
Just why?
I can only assume it was in case they wanted to isolate that radiator, and keep the circuit flowing.
If you draw it out on paper (I did lol) it's actually correct. If there wasn't a TRV the 'bypass' wouldn't be there and it would just be a normal one-pipe system.
The rad would have a better chance if the loop was after the rad, its been installed much like a hot water return
That would have made more sense, I have converted the system to a standard two pipe, thanks for watching
Great video shame about the audio....do you have separate microphone? Would help a lot clearing up the audio?
I need to get one, thanks for watching mate
Couldn’t you have used a core drill to put the drain in the subfloor? And lever ball valves are far superior than regular stop taps.
I could possibly have cored it, I don't recall there being any power on the job though, thanks for watching as always Dave 👍
1:56 bill them…!
Indeed, I did add the time on when I went back to fit it, thanks for watching 👍
Can't believe Tom got into trouble 😂. Does she know who you are

@@PlumbLikeTom most fun to watch haha. Or accidents? I'm a service mechanic myself for combi boilers here in the Netherlands. Always interesting watching u.
I don't see what's wrong with that first radiator clip, looks correct to me.
The flow and return are linked together creating a bypass, the water will go through there rather than through the radiator
@@PlumbLikeTom That's kinda how it's supposed to be although perhaps not the best layout, the bypass should've been across the bottom between the left and right pipes but I suspect the radiator may still warm up.
That flow and return what was they thinking.🤦♂️

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians Tom😂😂
Since you are a plumber, have you ever contracted Legionnaires' disease?
Good question, I honestly don't know, plumbers seem to be immune to a lot of stuff, thanks for watching
