Thanks for sharing! I watched one recently where he placed the mic in the ac control area…underneath the “off” button there was a vented slot to hide it. I’m about to tackle my new stereo …I’ve never de-pined a harness. Might give it a try to have it dimmable.
No problem thanks for watching, the mic on that area actually sounds like a nice place, after having it on the A pillar for a while I’ve realized it’s not the best area because it interferes with the visor so I might re locate it the next time I get the radio bezel off and try that
I don't think that one would work with my Lexus radio, that harness has two connectors the one I needed only used 1, however I would have soldered them anyhow, I'm not a fan of using butt connectors, I did use a similar harness for the amp bypass harness I constructed, that's not shown in this video but that one is coming soon.
Excellent video!! I’m hoping to tackle this install myself in the next few days.. did you have to bypass the factory amp to get a clear static free sound? P.s. your garage looks like mine.. I love my LX and 2GS
@@harrisonwilkes560 thank you and yes I ended up bypassing the factory Amp, i actually also upgraded the center console subwoofer with a custom set up, I have all the audio related videos in my playlist if you’re interested in watching them, long story short pulled the factory amp and replaced it with a Class D, 5Chanel Clarion Amp, but you can just bypass the factory amp with the factory outputs from the head unit although you will loose the factory center subwoofer unless you somehow wire it back in hence why I chose to upgrade that as well.
I need help Hi I need help getting rid of static in my head unit . I have ran a ground wire from the engine area to the frame to the back of the head unit and I have connected a ground wire to every ground wire from the speakers at the head unit and the head unit itself . I don't know what else I can ground to get rid of the static . Will you help me figure out what I need to do ?
