The 360 modules within the unit is added on demand or when you purchase the camera with the unit. If you intend to use your current 360 cameras or purchase 360 cameras later and don’t mention it to them, they will send you a unit without the module installed. The 6gb version of the headunit doesn’t do 360 regardless. This is a key bit of information that isn’t been shared properly by Mekede for some reason.

Looks like a great evolution in the androind head unit ecosystem, which I'm all for. However, it seems to have inherited (unless I have missed something -- though i double-checked multiple times) a rather significant shortcut in the equalizer / DSP setup. That being, the equalizer bands are global. You can't have a separate equalizer adjustment configuration for each output channel. To anybody who knows about audio tuning basics, this functionality is key towards proper system adjustment, because each individual speaker driver has its own response curve which is further distorted by mounting location and room dynamics... one of the main points of a DSP is to account for these individual variations, which is why it's so mystifying that they keep integrating these chips but omitting this functionality. If they could just get this implemented, it would go a long ways towards making expensive 3rd party DSPs obsolete for anybody but the staunchest of audio enthusiasts. Having messed with programming multiple equalizer chips in the past few years, I know for a fact that they almost universally do support per-channel adjustment, so the fact that head unit devs keep leaving this out is seriously disappointing. I'll be staying with my existing Teyes unit until and if this short-sightedness is rectified. I'd love to be able to sit down with my laptop and Room EQ Wizard, a calibrated mic, and dial a proper house curve into each audio channel. Having done this to my home systems, I know the improvement would be astronomical on its own, aside from the hardware quality of the unit itself. Oh, well. Fingers crossed for the future.
I do agree with this sentiment. Joying, for example, do allow for individual speaker setup, although some may argue that they've gone a bit too far because there isn't any option for global modification, and this makes things overly complicated and time consuming for the average user. I find myself using AndroidAuto instead of Teyes UI recently. And this new UI feels like fills that missing part - constant bottom navbar + multi-app top part. Honestly Teyes UI doesn't feel that comfortable, whlie thia might be my next best shot. And Wow! They have 13" display option, very nice for those bigger-dashed USA suvs like mine.
Hey, I might have missed you mentioning it, but can you tell me what voltage the rca outs are providing? Android head units are notorious for absolute dogshit voltage on the outs, requiring an LOC or other solution. Thanks soooo much for doing these reviews. I sincerely appreciate it!
Hi. Tx for a detailed review. How do you switch to the original vehicle interface? Is there a T-piece connection of sorts for the install to change original car settings? Appreciate your efforts
I am wondering, what the pre-out voltage on the RCAs is… I’m hoping it’s somewhere between 4V and 5V for sound quality… I just bought a 2001 Mercedes because they are a bit old school and cheaper to repair and maintain then these new cars with all the computers and modules built-in… but I still love my technology. This would give me the best of both worlds like having a Tesla or something more modern but with old school reliability I am so excited…. I have about 10 grand worth of audio gear that I’m ready to put into this car and I had been thinking about getting an aToto…. S8 ultra but now this has shot up to the top of my list….. love your videos buddy
I bought a 9.5-inch Dudu 7 directly from the mekede seller and in addition to several things that I did not like, such as the screen is not black enough and dazzles the driver. The colors on the screen are oversaturated. Also the sound is very bad for my taste. Even with an external amplifier I couldn't achieve the live sound sensation I had with my previous unit. To say this I am comparing it with an S160 unit that I have had since 2013 that does not have these problems. And well, on top of that, after 45 days of sporadic use, my unit started restarting repeatedly and with a delay in booting the Android. There is undoubtedly a Ram or CPU problem that causes the system to reboot. The seller did not recognize my warranty so I lost my money. Sending the product from Argentina to China for review didn't make sense to me. Very expensive.
I have the Mekede M400. It has the screen share et all even though dating back to 2021. 8+64 GB which is more than enough for anything a car stereo could ever need and only using 15% in my setup. However, apps started to "crash". Starting up upon tapping, but then simply going back to the home screen. After numerous updates, it has never been resolved (including full factory resets) As a result I've lost the TPMS, dashcam & OBDII apps whilst the affected Google Play apps such as Google Maps, WireGuard and Emby continues to "crash". At present Waze works. Mekede has been less than assistive in resolving this issue. How do they thus expect one to even consider this "wonderfull" new vendor locked in unit, which was exactly the same hype on the release of the M400 ... ?
@@hotfuzz1913 that chip is a pretty big difference. T’eyes software seems to be hit or miss on if people like it and from the research I have done you kind of have to stay in that ecosystem if you want it to behave. On the other side, Mekede really needs to work on product information accessibility. I am having a heck of a time figuring out what pieces would do what I want and if what I already have will work.
I have a few questions. 1. I saw that the Bluetooth codec is aptxHD, compared to SBC. For my headphones, I can hear a difference, but can you hear it on your speakers? For me, I self host my music & play it on an app that is compatible with Android Auto called Symfonium, so I can stream my music in full lossless audio FLAC files 2. I was thinking of adding more expandable storage, so how much do they allow you to add? 3.I see that there is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, what is it used for? Do you connect your phone to it, add expandable storage, etc.? 4. What other in-head units do you plan on covering? I saw in the comments below that you will cover the ATOTO X10, but what others do you plan on doing as well? You are the best at reviewing these android head units, so I can't wait for the next one. Thanks!
You're like me looking for a head unit with high quality DACs and high quality electrical components for sound quality. 5 full nights of looking and i have found nothing.

Awesome head unit, like everything else…Australia misses out or pay important tax 🤦🏻 But question: how does it connect to the canbus system for steering wheel control etc, without an obd2 dongle ?!?
Are there any head units that come with HD radio? Here in the states HD radio is a factory option in close to all new cars and is available in all the big name brands like alpine and pioneer and Kenwood. I’m hoping someday these android units will have it.
hd adio is horrible. All the advertising makes it disgusting. Invest in a paid music ap like Pandora or Spotify. The sound is Way Better, and no advertising. When you actively use these aps you get the music you want, not what they want you to have. No comparison.
Are you able to connect multiple bluetooth devices with these units? I know that most android head units only allow your phone to be connected. I have a high-end radar detector that can connect to Bluetooth and app

@SaabUnleashed , do you have any pictures or info about the mounting size/type and hardware included? I have browsed their alibaba site and even asked questions in the chat, but couldn't really get the info I need to check what size fits my car the best. Is it a 2DIN mount or something else? And how is the screen positioned up/down in relation to the mount? I am most interested in the 13" size, but need this info before making the purchase. Many other manufacturers have pretty solid info about this kind of things.
Looking for this info as well. The Joying unit I was looking at allows for adjusting the floating screen up and down. Don't want to cover my buttons with the 13 inch screen.
I contacted Mekede via Alibaba and they informed me that they currently are out of stock of adapter/mounting options for GM vehicles with "1.5 DIN" factory stereo (including if you are using a 1 DIN install kit already. ) How can we mount these units? 🤔🤔🤔
What made me decide to buy this unit is because as much as i like the teyes, it couldnt even stack up to the mekede m6 pro plus which is below the dudu7
This is difficult to answer because it depends on the car. The universal variation of this unit comes with brackets that will help it be installed into that kind of environment, however be prepared to have to be a bit creative (like I had to be in this car, I showed the installation method in my other Teyes 360 install video). Alternatively, you might be lucky enough to find they have a kit for your specific car to make it easy. Check the links in the video description
@@SaabUnleashed OK, thanks for your answer. I'll have to make something myself. I won't find one specific for my car. There are only ones up to 7 inches
So much info. Thanks for all of your reviews. I have a question: Do you know of any android-based units that have HDMI in and out? I have an Expedition with rear entertainment that I want to keep functional, but it also has some inputs that allow me to hookup external devices, i.e. SNES Classic.
Most Android units will have composite video and audio in (the yellow white and red RCAs) the latest headunits tend to have HDMI out, check my videos for that. HDMI in is super rare, limited to the Mekede M6 Pro Plus (but only if you ask them to include it) and the brand new Atoto X10 which I will be reviewing shortly
@SaabUnleashed Thanks for the info. I might just use a CVBS converter and stuff it behind the dash. They aren't very reliable is the problem. And sometimes they can make scan lines in the video feed, making it blurry.
@SaabUnleashed Do you what security options Dudu has? I watched your video on Google sign-on security. It'd be nice to know if any if these head units offer locking.
HDMI out or in? And can you play different music sources on the front and rear channels? I have a minivan with a rear screen and two audio zones. Looking for something that can replace that.
I installed a cheap android head unit in my wife's car because it came as a kit with wire harness, mounting bracket frame adapter, and canbus. Where do you buy all the stuff you need to connect a android head unit you buy separately? Are there kits sold per car without the android unit itself?
Love you videos, always looking for the next one. I am looking to order the DUDU7 for our 2015 Sprinter van and my question is in how it mounts into the vehicle. Would a universal double din work with the head unit? Do you have a good source for this? Thank you. advance!
Yes, you can now connect LED strips, OBD dongles and other bluetooth devices. The former limitations were lifted, so it's just like any smartphone when it comes to bluetooth connectability.
@@ElevatedVehicles If you get it properly fit, it's THE best android head unit without any doubt. In the system you can even select modes for the LED Strips, like which color at night or when reversing is used etc.
This looks great, hope they release a new Dudu head unit for the BMW F30 soon, I'm still on the factory 6.5" and was considering the MN-G with a Snapdragon 680
How is the mount to the car's original place? Single Din? Double Din? I couldn't find anything on the item's description and what's included, this is the only thing holding me to purchase it. @SaabUnleashed
These Android radios don’t use the standard single/double din frames. I would suggest searching online for the Android headunit frame specific for your car. For example ‘Benz W164 Android frame’. Look out for the 9inch frame version for your car. 9inch Android frames are the universal fitting size for most Android headunits. For example, I ordered the 11.5 version of this radio and it came with a converter frame that attaches to the 9 inch frame of my car.
You are not showing the most important part. How does it mount? it looks like a floating screen but what is it mounted to. The system is no good if we buy it and cant mount it.
Mounting depends on vehicle. These are generally designed to be supplied with dash trims for specific cars to look factory. I mentioned in this car that I had to fashion something manually and I actually recorded this process in a different video (Teyes 360 install)
Great video. I am just wondering how bright can it get? I live in a very sunny place of the world and I constantly have issues with screens that don't get bright enough
I believe in the specd they have also upgraded to more robust specs for both the GPS and the microphone. The mic specs has noise cancelling, correct? How did the mic perform compared to other brands?
I only used the one they included so I can't give you any comparison, but there was zero audible feedback to person on the line, even with the volume high indicating good noise cancelling
I performed this test - I made a static sound and after a while device was starting to cancel it. :) so there's really a noise cancelling. Just to be clear - the voice isn't at the level of current phones, but you can it's totally audible and a step forward from the previous units.
Great video very informative. I'm new to the Android head unit swap world. I'm looking to put this into a 2012 Hyundai Genesis with tech package. I see that the CANBUS does so much in allowing for stock operation. However what I seem to have gathered from other videos is that separate AM FM antenna and GPS antenna need to be installed as the factory antennas cannot be used, as well as XM antenna. Is this correct? I have a specific question regarding the rear backup camera. When looking at the DUDU AUTO website I have come across a piece of text that seems to indicate the factory rear camera can be used if all I want to use it for is backup camera. However if I want to use streaming or recording functionality I need to install a new camera. Are you able to confirm this for me? And with that mean I have to run cables from the head unit all the way to the back camera Or can stock wiring be used? Thanks so much I wait for your input.
Do not know if the NightPanel button is sent out on the CAN bus, and if any headunits respects this feature in the SAABs? That would be a super cool thing to have on aftermarket units. If Nightpanel is a CAN bus thing, maybe a proposal for development to these guys?

Could you pls elaborate a bit, on this BT issue?! You mean you could buy what optional, to enhance it ?! TIA
As a Teyes owner I was quite sceptical at first glance. But after watchint this review, I think my next car might have this instead. My main focus was the UI, UX, what kinda seem very attractive.
How do you find audio output on teyes? Hoes RCA voltage? Is digital audio output bit perfect?
Looks awesome, ill probably buy a 9.5 inch model for my 2005 911. The dimensions look perfect to take the place of the existing PCM2.1
Amazon - NOT AVAILABLE IN THE UK
So how do I order the unit with the back up and return policy of Amazon here in good old blighty?
Only Aliexpress at the moment, even if they ship to your country, there would be possible import taxes
Rip off taxes
I think the shipping price includes the taxes.
Hey, I might have missed you mentioning it, but can you tell me what voltage the rca outs are providing? Android head units are notorious for absolute dogshit voltage on the outs, requiring an LOC or other solution. Thanks soooo much for doing these reviews. I sincerely appreciate it!
4,6 V RMS. The new Joyings with Snapdragon have 4,1 V RMS.
Hi. Tx for a detailed review. How do you switch to the original vehicle interface? Is there a T-piece connection of sorts for the install to change original car settings? Appreciate your efforts
Does the RDS save radio channel names rather than just the frequency? Thanks for an awesome review as always 👍🏻

Hahahahaha i been reading from reddit and now led me to this exact upload
How is digital audio output quality?
@dsk-xx Yes, please detail. Digital out to a dsp, or amp with dsp could have an impact.
Can you buy the Mekede DUDU 7 in Europe without importing from china?
There webshop (not aliexpress) says they have warehouses in spain, germany and more countries.
@ thx
Your previous videos had me ready to pull the trigger on a T’eyes 2k but now I am second guessing.
Same here!
The unit looks identical to the teyes but with updated software
@@hotfuzz1913 that chip is a pretty big difference. T’eyes software seems to be hit or miss on if people like it and from the research I have done you kind of have to stay in that ecosystem if you want it to behave. On the other side, Mekede really needs to work on product information accessibility. I am having a heck of a time figuring out what pieces would do what I want and if what I already have will work.
Dudu7 is just miles ahead of Teyes.
I have a few questions.
1. I saw that the Bluetooth codec is aptxHD, compared to SBC. For my headphones, I can hear a difference, but can you hear it on your speakers? For me, I self host my music & play it on an app that is compatible with Android Auto called Symfonium, so I can stream my music in full lossless audio FLAC files
@kroozzy9863 does this unit not check that box for you ? Have you considered the atoto x10
Just use the TOSLINK into a DSP which accepts digital in if you're that picky. That's what I'll be doing.

This one looks like a good one, just need OLED HDR10+ screens now!
Are you able to connect multiple bluetooth devices with these units? I know that most android head units only allow your phone to be connected. I have a high-end radar detector that can connect to Bluetooth and app
Love all your video's do you think this is better than the new joying headunit
How does it handle calls? Does it drag you into the call screen and leave you there unable to go anywhere else in the system? (Like atoto)
This is what I want to know too
With eonon 12S android 13.0 you can minimize the call screen
The beta allows for 2 options. Full screen or a pop up. Pop up allows you to continue to use the device.
No, you can still react to other apps etc while calling. However, there are some limits, eg.g. pertaining to sound during calls.

@SaabUnleashed , do you have any pictures or info about the mounting size/type and hardware included? Hey nice review.
With the SIM card installed is there anyway that you can monitor your cameras remotely example when you parked somewhere?
I have a standard 2-DIN slot with a Kenwood car radio. Are there instructions on how to install this radio.

What about security? Pin? Auto unlock when phone detected?

Are we able to pair any Bluetooth device to this head unit or did they do what Joying does & cripple the Bluetooth chip?

This looks great, hope they release a new Dudu head unit for the BMW F30 soon, I'm still on the factory 6.5" and was considering the MN-G with a Snapdragon 680
Is there a Single DIN or double DIN radio body that comes with this? Would love to see some of the installation.
Can you put the 360 camera in PIP?
