    My old car was 22 years old and had seen better days. I needed a new car. Ford thinks that I need a gigantic expensive pickup or SUV but they're wrong. I needed an economy car, something smallish but seats 5 people, so I bought a new Corolla for about the cost of a bumper off a Raptor. Ford doesn't make cars for guys like me but Toyota does. I'm from the income bracket that needs basic reliable transportation, nothing fancy and enough room for groceries and I don't think I'm alone, I'm sure there are plenty of people in my situation.

    Ford has to keep raising their MSRP's Mark, as they're losing BILLIONS of dollars every quarter on their EV division. In addition to that, Jim Farley is EXTREMELY OVER-PAID for the poverty level job he, and the rest of the Executives are doing running Ford/Lincoln as a company. Ford has led, and continues to lead the automotive sector in recalls, lowest initial quality etc. At Ford, quality is job none, nothing about them is built Ford tough! No doubt many Ford fan-boys will chirp in, and share their two cents worth, what is said here is each person's individual opinion. At least what I have mentioned here, as you have Mark is fact! Ford was already losing big money on every EV they sell but it's made even worse with these incentives. If you have to pay people to take your product off your hands then maybe you should try to stop forcing them onto people. The market has spoken about EVs. Hybrids are really the best option at the moment.

      I was afraid of the hybrids’ extra complexity (more to go wrong, costlier to repair). Plus my gasser has 1,100 lbs more payload and 1,300 lbs more towing capacity. I DO admire being able to plug a hybrid into your electric gadgets, but my answer to that is my gas generator. I’m not saying the eco boost is smarter than the hybrid, but for my wants it was for me.

    • @joewoodchuck3824
      @joewoodchuck3824 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelfelt5130 The hybrid concept baffles me on one point. We've always been taught that lots of engine starts are bad for the engine because it never fully warms up to proper operating temperature and increases gasoline absorption into the oil. It's obvious that a hybrid engine will stop and start more than a conventional engine. So all of a sudden many starts is ok when it wasn't ok before? SMH.

    I always buy FLEET vehicles. I don't need carpet and leather and they are ~15K less than a Lariat or the other high models. I just bought a 24 5.0L Extended cab for 43K. Deals are out there, but yeah, if you buy the higher trim levels, FORD is cranking prices to cover all of the recalls and THE MASSIVE DOLLARS THEY HAVE LOST on the EV's-EV's are also driving up insurance costs, but no one talks about that-

    Considering the size and opulence of these trucks, I mean 6 cows worth of leather, all the craptacular gadgets and the infotainment system is extensive and very complex, and the top line engine and chassis ain’t cheap… but strip it down to a reasonably comfortable, sensible price and make sure it’s durable, you’d have a winner

    That is pretty bad if you think those prices are in USD, 94K in CAD is only 68K in USD but still high considering The lariat don't really have much more for 16K extra USD. I bought an Atlas Blue 23' STX 2wd SCREW with a 2.7 EcoBoost for 44k USD. What I like better is they hadn't put all digital speedometer's on it (I Prefer analog gauges, and is the only configuration with a center console with column shift). Also New updated grill not so great on STX for the 2024 refresh, but still a fine truck.

    Something I pointed out on another you tube channel; and this needs to be investigated by some of these you tube channels, I think the big three may actually be trapped between the consumers and the UAW. You’ve got to remember they just signed on to another outrageous UAW contract like they did in 2008 when cars, trucks, and SUV’s shot up about 30 to 50 percent. If that is the case bankruptcy may be the only way out.

    The problem is that pandemic taught manufacturers one lesson. Short supply, Hi demand, high prices yield more profit than building a larger quantity of affordable vehicles. They will intentionally keep supplies low with less material costs, less labor costs, less overhead and keep the prices as high as possible until people stop buying.

A few little problems but not on the expensive side . Inside door handle, A/C low press switch, alternator, brake modular for rear brakes, radiator and that's it . Southern truck - no rust !

    I'm sure it had nothing to do with recent huge UAW raises. Not that the raises weren't deserved but Ford and other automakers didn't plan for this. Strange though, one would think that the UAW would up their focus on quality given their new income forecast?

  • @jonharrison4548

    When a truck costs as much as a house... may have lost track of what the market wants. Also, this is what leads to a recession... convincing people that they can purchase expensive things on credit so they don't have to worry about the price. If Ford is providing the financing they are making way more than the ticket price
