@@markholubetz Great video. But bad example. IBM U.S. doesn't provide company cars to any employees at any level as far as I know. They never did. But they do have company cars in some other countries including India and Germany. I worked there for 23 years and used my personal vehicles as a field technician. Meanwhile, our competitor's field engineers did have company cars.
I don't think the manufacturers will ever learn that lesson. Transportation will just keep getting more expensive until the workforce becomes too poor and inexperienced to afford to be motorists. Then the rich people will buy servant robots from the car companies, instead of paying workers enough to live and drive.
BULLSH_T! Your truck doesn't have to cost $80000. If it's just a work truck than you don't need all the extra features that raise the prices to $80000!
Almost all Ram dealerships are still tacking on $30,000 - $40,000 to their trucks & not wanting to reduce that dealer markup. That is why Ram dealerships still have so many 2022 & 2023 models on their lots. Nobody is going to pay $110,000 for a truck!
Same with jeep I tried talking them down and they said no they are selling them with markups and get this “we are selling so many and can’t keep them in stock, so no we won’t lower prices”, clearly their lying because their lot was so full
@@JamesTheCarGuy Thank you for the comment. Dodge, Jeep, & RAM Dealerships must be smoking some really good dope. That is the way which they will add on an additional $25,000-$35,000 dealer markup & then refuse to negotiate the price. From my stand point the cars & trucks can rust to death before I pay that much money for a truck.
So instead of them as last ditch effort for dirt cheap to American customers they'd rather sale them for nothing to another country or just scrap them. That's greed
Yeah scree the American and let the other countries benefit. We need to demand lower prices. Greed is at an all time high. It’s nuts and they know us Americans are walking around with vanity inside yet cant afford to live
You as a consumer have to remember that the dealer giving you a "discount" on a model year leftover is no bargain. The vehicle is one model year older and has depreciated in value, even though it is "brand new". So, you have to go beyond the depreciation to get a good price.
HATE, HATE, HATE the auto off feature on my 2021 RAV4. Other than that it’s a great car, but that one feature ruins the new car experience. Stupidest most annoying environmental rule yet.

A used car lot in my area has a 2020 Toyota Corolla sitting on his lot for 2.5 years with an asking price of over $26,200 as he's asking more for that used car than when it was brand new. I'm not at all interested in that car as the only reason I'm watching it is that it blows my mind that he's not dropping the price on a now almost 5 year old car, and can't figure out how this is cost effective for the dealer as it sits on his lot rusting away.
During the 08-09 financial crises I went to my local Ford dealer to see f I could score a deal on their GT 500 mustangs they had a nice white with blue stripes on the showroom and it was a no go ! Not only would they not agree to a below sticker price but instead insisted they could get over sticker and he proceeded to take me to the back of the store where they kept vehicles and he had about a dozen or so mustang GT’s and 500’s and told me they’d mothballed and will try to get above asking when the crises blows over …Needless to say I didn’t budge either but I found very interesting when sales were waaay down they weren’t the least bit concerned with cutting a deal and my credit was and is superb and I make good living but they didn’t care one bit !
Negotiate anytime. Your the power behind the cost. Don't like the cost don't buy it. Walk out the door. Without you, the customer they have no sales and no business. That's how we force lower prices.
With so many "brand new" vehicles with so many bugs, flaws, and gremlins...it's common sense that so many potential buyers are simply not taking a chance with buying a "brand new POS."
@@markholubetz Even if prices were "back to normal", whatever that is, people still don't want to buy a troublesome vehicle. So, high prices and lack of quality seem to be the double-edged sword...besides the economy and inflation. What a bad situation!
Listen people those huge discounts are put on older stock because it's implied that you'll have to incur more cost cause it's 3 years old. The costs are priced in to the discount.
When I graduated high school in 1979 my dad bought me a new 78 rabbit diesel that was in the back of the lot and he got 25% off. I had that car for 30 years and averaged 48-53 mpg. 78 was the last year it was made in Germany. It was so cheap to drive. It did me good.
@@michaelclark7037 there's no way I can prove it but it was marked 25% off but in reality it was probably the max price like you see on price is right. MSRP or such. It was a very plain model. I got from the junk yard a new hatch door with a defrost window grid. I got a delay wiper switch and relay. Bla punk stereo. Etc
I have owned two of them. I got them really cheap because they had leaking head gaskets. Machining the heads and replacing the gaskets did not cost much.
We want simpler cars with less electronics. 1980s, 1990s and 2000s were steadily getting better without crap attached (digital screen, chipped keys, electronic power steering assist, etc.). i want a CAR... not an expensive item that is as complicated as something NASA would build.

Great video. You should have also included that when you go to buy that car that's been sitting on a lot for a year or more which my wife and I did years ago with a Honda Odyssey minivan the stealership tried to spin the loan to the full price as if it was brand new. They pulled the old send us into the veteran sales manager to make the deal. After my wife and I picked him apart for a while he realized we were not fools and we left.
The Banks don't want the cars, just the money. They will offer dealerships incentives also. Consumers don't always get those offered by the banks. Expensive anyway so Banks could offer directly to consumers to put them in vehicles but decide not to. Great video and information.

Here is a question. What if a car manufacturer delivered a car to a buyer direct from the factory. The car company would only have locations where you can pick up your car but they do not have any unsold cars on the lot. How much would that reduce the price of the car. They could design the car such that any independent car repair shop could fix it with spare parts available online. Could that reduce the price of a care 30%, 40% etc. Think of all the cost to operate a dealership that would be eliminated (those costs get passed on to the buyer). The pick up location could also have test drive cars so customer could drive and look at car before placing online order. Could that be a game changer business model for buying a car.
What? You don't like both sides of every mile of road in America being nothing but oceans of identical looking pickup trucks that stretch over the horizon? I love not having walkable downtown anymore because each store is separated by miles of impassible asphalt deserts. I can't wait for the new one they're building next to the one that's been abandoned and empty for ten years thats across the street from the one that was built instead of a row of affordable apartments.
Well that’s just how it used to be. Anyone could work on most any car. Talk to the a-hole manufacturers, they are the jerks withholding the information and computer codes so only they can work on them at greatly increased prices.
In an ideal world, yes. But in the real world, no. Such as if you’re a business owner & operating for 50 yrs then you know what works best for you, no one should tell you how to run your business. Car manufacturers has their business model which works best for them, they constantly try to juggle profits, outputs, demands, competition, cost, new trends, laws and supply chain issues. Their #1 goal is to sell, to look good on Wall st, keeping their stock holders happy first. They have a much larger picture than what we see.
Ive been in car sales for 18 years so I can answer this question. They get moved around to different dealerships, They sit on the lot until someone comes in a dire situation and the GM heavily discounts the car. Clever customers come in with the upper hand who researched the VIN and offer cash. So many scenarios but they all do end up selling. Banks will never allow cars to just go to some brand new graveyard. If you’re looking for the best deal make sure you shop around online and consider out of state dealers as well.
Ok, I’m with you on the short cab and short box 4x4 . But no options? Nah. Gotta have power steering and brakes and a/c for me, but manual windows and locking are fine. A nice stereo system with actual knobs and buttons would be nice too. With ya in spirit though.
And then our government lectures us on the climate and environment. Supposedly they're manufacturing such complex and expensive vehicles to help with fuel consumption and emissions. What's the point of manufacturing these vehicles if they are going to become part of land fill.
The move towards complexity has been a long slow march, well underway since way before climate politics became the latest whipping bill. In fact we were complaining about how computerized and complex automobiles had become, how they were nearly impossible to repair yourself, and how they were less durable what with the explosion of cheap plastic parts everywhere.. -literally over twenty years ago. . There are two long-term drivers of this long running trend: 1) competition: keeping up with latest features, bells and whistles and max power/performance, and the technology and complexity that comes along with that. 2) managed product lifecycle: manufacturers intentionally designing to shorter expected product lifecycle, increasing the frequency of recurring new sales. This is done by cheapening up many parts, and a million other ways to limit the time vehicles remain economically viable to own. I can tell you the automakers are thrilled that everyone ridiculously believes 'climate politics' to be the villain , when in reality the villain is the manufacturers themselves...

Yes that depends on the type of lot that is but those vehicles could be coming and going to different lots for traces or sales, probably new from factory, among many other destinations.
@markholubetz that's just my point, if the vehicles aren't selling, why are these trucks and trains hauling cars to and from dealerships and from the manufacturer
I used to have a part time gig driving dealer trades back and forth from one part of the State to the other. Drove a new vehicle over and a different one back. It was fun but I think today it's all done with hot shot transporters
They destroy them all. Because they can't give them away and they can't lessen the price because that would crush their next year sales.. $70,000 for a base entry level pickup work truck is absurd.
The dealers or more so the manufacturer don't give a sh8t about selling the old stock at car grave yard prices. Most dealers don't actually own the inventory but rather operate on a floor plan financing option where the cars are basically under consignment or sorts from either the financial institution or manufacturer. The new car dealership monopoly is a total scam.
I did a really good deal when I bought my 2008 Tundra in 2009. With the financial crisis, cars just weren't selling. To make matters worse, the truck I was looking at was ( I think) a fleet purchase that went bad. There were 2 leftover 2008's, both in a somewhat odd an unpopular configuration. They were basically work trucks - long bed, no extra cab. With all this going on, I was able to drive a very favorable deal, as the configuration was exactly what I was after anyway - just needed a truck to haul my dirt bikes and pull a travel trailer. Of course, there will be a penalty to pay when and if I want to sell it, but then that was 16 years ago and I've still got it....

Power windows and locks and the like that last 10 years at least. Switches and windows and door hinges and handles and all the other systems that will just need minor maintenance for years. You really do a great job! These vehicles have so much BS on them with complicated electronics, turbos, CVT transmissions and other things that I would never buy them no matter how much they reduced them. 2004 is as new as I would ever go. My newest is a Saturn Vue 5 speed, 4 cylinder with 230,000 miles and I love it and I looked a long time to find it and it's from the South. What do you think?

I remember sitting in the shopping mall just to see the sticker shock when people came in and looked at the price of a new truck parked there. It was amazing to see the heads snap backwards. Many would look two or three times and each time their head snapped back but less each time, like they were getting immune or something.
A couple months ago i went to a dealer that had a new 22 Jeep Renegade and a new 22 Fiat 500X. I thought i might get a huge discount but the dealer was still attempting to sell them for around MSRP. I test drove the Fiat and the tires had the flat spots you talked about. I was shocked at the failure to discount these old cars, especially since I was most likely the only customer interested in them. I blew the whole idea and instead bought a 24 Malibu RS that was discounted and rebated at a price well below the 22 Renegade and Fiat!
Do not buy a Fiat or Jeep product, unless you like to tinker and fix things on a fairly regular basis. Or you don't mind the vehicle being in the shop a lot.
Tires are NOT rated for “8 to 10 years”. At the 5 year mark they need to be replaced - especially if you do a lot of highway driving. Ask me how I know…
Believe me, manufacturers, dealerships, management and workers are always worrying about their jobs. So are the stock investors. It is not as easy as it looks in this ever changing world.
When we bought a vehicle in the 1980s using the Consumer Reports auto buying / printed out information on the model we wanted - (basic items and such) that made a huge difference in seeing the dealer cost, mark-ups, etc., I'd do that again -- We saved a ton of money that way.
I thought the same thing. Where are they? I am at the 12:00 mark and heard that the dealers buy up some and end up making them used cars but the question I wanted answered was not answered...
They just stay at the dealers it was sent to in the first place. Once it's on a dealer lot, it's the dealer that owned the car. It's his responsibility to sell it.
All this sounds believable. However, I went to Seneca, South Carolina Jeep dealership that had over a 100 new jeeps wranglers on the lot ,they had a left over new 23 Sahara. it was sale priced at 43,5k, but when I got there, they said they could only find it for 46,5k. Then the sales manager came over and told me that it would cost me 51,5k out the door. Mind you, this Jeep was produced 12 22 and had been sitting on the lot and getting lot rot all this time. That's almost a year and a 1/2 . they could care less about selling this Jeep at a discounted price. A couple of $1000 off of a year and a 1/2 old Jeep is not a deal. funny thing, there were 2 people on this massive lot at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. My wife and myself, nobody else in sight. These dealers could care less if you buy their car or not.And the sales manager told me that that g probably would go to the auction.😮
That’s a great point. There are always creative ways to try to sell less than desirable vehicles but even with those creative ways, there are still a few that although the cracks
There was a load of 100s of brand new cars unloaded off the ship and parked right at the shipyard at the south end of the Seattle waterfront. Been there going on 2 months now.
Oils sitting for a long time in a sealed system (transmission & motor) do not go away! The reason for 5,000 miles or a year is. If the person put only 200 - 300 miles on the vehicle in month, would in most cases be short drives. Thereby not getting the motor up to operating temperature for long enough to get rid of the moisture in the oil. The moisture can form acids. The year then would come before 5,000 miles is traveled. If these were 30+ miles each trip. Then the 5,000 mile oil change would make sense. The time factor is relative here, to how it is driven.
Nothing wrong with buying a older car with low millage. There are a lot of cars with a ugly color or odd design nobody wants to drive. These are very cheap and often still in very good condition. I bought a old Toyota Corolla and invested in some maintenance to get it back on the road. The car did still run fine as I sold it, and was at that time 23 years old. I also bought a 8 year old Toyota hybrid with low millage. The car is now 15 years old and my daily driver. It runs perfect and has even the first hybrid battery.
I believe it ! most o.e.m.s contract out the electrical and tech to the very lowest bidder for mass production with very poor testing and grading procedures ,resulting in so many issues not long after buying. And are unserviceable unless you spend thousands at a dealership.
Hey Mark: You should start a consulting business. Helping people negotiate the path to selling and trading their vehicles. I would certainly use this service if it were available, because I know that I suck at car buying.
They'd rather dismantle these vehicles than sell them at low prices to Americans who need an affordable car. Since the government has its nose in everything, why don't the come up with a program where they partner with car manufacturers/dealers to provide needy Americans with these "unwanted" cars?
Just wait until the vehicle system kill switches are installed at the factory. Sales of new will plummet ... to zero. Old used cars will be cherished like your current Ram. Cheers.
New SUBBIE.🌍🌍 You did a great job explaining all of this. Thank you. I always wondered what they do with a lot full of new used cars. Now I know. So many people can't afford these vehicles maybe they should consider a car lottery so someone who have never had a nice car or a dream car can make that dream come through. It such a shame for them to sit and rot like that.
That was a nice tutorial video about the auto business. Was affiliated with a dealership. Went to dealer auctions. Picked up some good deals for resale and for use in an affiliated business. .
Most new cars with too much electronics are disposable unless you pay big dollars to the dealer. They are unrepairable. If a car company would offer vehicles that are simple, they would move more product. But the public is programmed to think we need all bells and whistles
I just need to find me an older pre computer truck to fix and drive. Screw the stupid computerized gadgets that break down with out a reboot option. The older stuff ran great and didn’t need a degree and special tools and computers to work on
Would dealers like it if all customers just ordered the vehicle, arranged financing and waited for it to arrive, take possession and off they go? That’s what I do for all of my vehicles but I suspect the public wants to buy off the lot right away and not wait so they have to maintain an inventory.
@@stevereimer5254 I like Ford for this. As a pickup truck has many different configurations, they never once resisted ordering any of my vehicles from the factory.
@stevereimer5254 it's because sometime you need the right allocations. If you want something special and the dealer don't have the right allocation, he won't be able to pass the order. If you want something that is more common, it's probably be on the lot our on another lot.
The car companies discovered that they can generate the same profit from selling fewer higher priced trucks than a bunch of affordable ones. The profit margin on those $100k trucks is probably around $30k so they can make more off that one sale than they can selling 3x $20k trucks that only have a $5k margin. And they have less overhead and production costs.
My last two new vehicles were a Truck that I ordered from the factory (long bed), and a car that had just arrived and not yet prepped, having the shipping covers still on it, but was the top of the line trim package❗
One of the used lots that I'm watching that sells work / commercial trucks just went out of business and started up under a different name a couple of months ago. I can remember some of my used dealer customers doing that back in the early 90's and again in the 2000's when the economy tanked in BC.
Early 1980 Jeep sent out a very good deal to anyone that had a licence to sell vehicles. A friend asked me to go with him and three others to Toledo Ohio to pick up five jeeps; at the factory. I couldn't get away at the time but that's how Jeep got rid of what they could not sell by usual ways.
back in 2019 i bought a new chevy truck and i asked the seller that question about the trucks that dont sell and i was told they end up send it them back to the factory where they take it apart and use the parts for the new trucks. i dont know if this was true but that is what they told me.
'So we at Ford are gonna put a three cylinder engine into a seven thousand pound Ford Excursion, and it will get one half extra mile per gallon'. You can get that in every country but the US bc it pollutes too much for its weight. But its fine to buy a RAM truck 3 x the weight with 1/2 the mpg. Stop supporting fake environmentalism.
It just won't sell. Regular cab don't sell anymore. When we order the at our dealer, they are always the ones that take most time to sell. So we keep only one in our inventory.
A car dealer can adjust the price about 10% on a new car....... So the not selling cars are bigger bargain then that... Or will a dealer scrap a new car rather then selling it dirt cheap!!
As a new car dealer selling new vehicles never been titled you have a lot of restrictions. You don’t have the freedom to cut the price half to get rid of it. So in order for you to go around this is to title it somehow and resell it as used now you have the freedom to sell it with price it suits you

Hi, there a a couple options that come to mind and the first is the outgoing Lexus GX460 (v8) and not the new gx550 as they have those engine issues right now. Infiniti has the large qx80 or the Nissan Armada are the same vehicle as the Infiniti. For incentives the big 3 have the best but the quality is the worst. Steam away from Yukon or Escalade due to quality issues and the Stellantis has the Dodge Durango but they are not well made. The Jeep Wagoneer is an option but a bit pricey too and quality is not as good as the Lexus. For something a slight smaller maybe have a look at the Acura MDX as it’s built better tha. Its clear that dealerships are also hindering manufactures from moving inventory by keeping high markups, fees and extra charges in place. Any supposed discounts they are currently offering are still just chump change compared to the actual total sale cost. 🧐
40k if it's a truck, 35k if it's a SUV, 32k if it's a sedan, $500 bucks if it's a Nissan. I'm also assuming 63k is including a 7k markup due to 'market adjustments'.

Finally I found a service writer that got it to fail by using a known faulty battery. And that's not exclusive to Nissan.
I have a 2012 Subaru Forester with a double DIN radio deck. A two year old “new” car wouldn’t bother me one bit. Even if I had to buy a new battery and a set of tires. I’ll be in the market in 2025.
I cant believe why people are asking where they can buy these liquidated cars. The answer is 1. A dealer only wholesale auction 2. Wholesaled to a overseas buyer 3. To retail customers who can recognize the oldest car sitting on the lot is what they can get 25-35% off MSRP.
Great information! How do the average consumer buy a new vehicle that didn't sell from the car graveyard. That is what I have been trying to buy for 2 years.
Yeah there are over 500 huge properties around the world that has no job other than being a huge lot of land for brand new cars and trucks! They are literally rotting into scrap parts 😢!! It's fucking terrible that unsold cars are sitting in a yard and falling apart 😢!! Instead of helping people who are hard working people who have never been able to get a new car!! Dealership could make money selling the vehicles to people that would be so incredibly grateful for the opportunity
They'll 1st arrange sweet bulk deals to the car rental outlets, Hertz, Enterprise, Bridget, etc. Whatever remains they'll offer rebates on, but i wouldn't hold my breath.
Man does an incredible job...

The car manufacturers are about to learn a hard lesson….people can’t afford 80 thousand dollar fucking work trucks.
And these are the people who actually need a truck for work. No mention of those who just want a truck so they can look "cool."
I love my 2000 3500 gmc 4x4 utility bed. Paid 8k for it 4 years ago with 45k miles
I don't think the manufacturers will ever learn that lesson. Transportation will just keep getting more expensive until the workforce becomes too poor and inexperienced to afford to be motorists. Then the rich people will buy servant robots from the car companies, instead of paying workers enough to live and drive.
Cars should never cost more than a basic home.
We need to remember this when these price gouging companies, are begging for a bailout. F em ALL!!!
Especially for a dodge

I don’t think it is necessarily greed to sell something that you’ve already paid money for and are still in the hole.
You as a consumer have to remember that the dealer giving you a "discount" on a model year leftover is no bargain.
The vehicle is one model year older and has depreciated in value, even though it is "brand new".
So, you have to go beyond the depreciation to get a good price.
Depreciation doesn't matter to me. I drive 30K+ miles/yr, and I typically hang on to vehicles until corrosion destroys them.

That's false. Unsold inventory cost a lot in interests

Oh and you used to be able to take delivery at the factory but all it saved you was the destination charge.
@@dzhang4459don’t be daft, nobody builds affordable anything anymore.

And then our government lectures us on the climate and environment. Supposedly they're manufacturing such complex and expensive vehicles to help with fuel consumption and emissions. What's the point of manufacturing these vehicles if they are going to become part of land fill.
Yes that does not make a huge amount of sense
The move towards complexity has been a long slow march, well underway since way before climate politics became the latest whipping bill.
In fact we were complaining about how computerized and complex automobiles had become, how they were nearly impossible to repair yourself, and how they were less durable what with the explosion of cheap plastic parts everywhere.. -literally over twenty years ago. .
There are two long-term drivers of this long running trend:
1) competition: keeping up with latest features, bells and whistles and max power/performance, and the technology and complexity that comes along with that.
Where are you going for these government lectures? I feel left out.

It's had to be a slow march becausethe globalists don't want to raise too much awareness as they're vilating our natural rights and removing our sovereignty.
Climate change is the argument they're using to do it and most of the big corporations have banded together with governments to bring it about. The US is the only bastion of freedom thats able to stop them and bring about their demise and most people on the left are too dum and hateful to recognize how these globalists are lying to them, and just gobble up soundbites as the truth, without doing due diligence and vetting the news clip. Most people are lazy and apathetic when it comes to politics.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) and the UN, amongst other organizations, have had public statements released regarding these plans for years and Bill Gates is one of the major billionaire contributors helping to reduce world populations. He even has arrest warrants out for him in foreign nations because of it.
There's a reason Russia has warships off of our coast now, in the Carribean. Total world Control is the goal and perpetual war is one of the tools to accomplish this along with mass depopulation; war, famine, disease, pandemics, etc.

Wow, so the dealer would rather give a better deal to employees or big corporations than an average person wanting to buy a new or used vehicle and that's how the rich stays rich and the poor stays poor
I'm a security officer and work at the BNSF railyard and auto lot in Northern Illinois and the auto lot is the size of at least 2 stealership lots and the lot is almost constantly full of trucks picking up and dropping off vehicles and the trains also are picking up and dropping off vehicles and after watching your great videos, I wonder to myself "why are they moving so many vehicles when the stealerships aren't selling them??💁♀️🤷🤷

That’s truly not worth it and I am sure there are many getting sent down the road as a result of not selling

Yes! They don’t do it well in any case! How about this: cut out all the cutesy crapola and make the basic systems bulletproof. Like you used to do. Power windows and locks and the like that last 10 years at least. Switches and windows and door hinges and handles and all the other systems that will just need minor maintenance for years. We have,a 2004 toyota suv ,81 k miles on it, did some maintenance, painting, undercoating the vehicle drives like near bran new for less than 20% of a new one. Today's vehicle quality is absolute garbage, very cheaply built that will last to the end of the warranty period before thousands of dollars worth the work will be needed ,let alone the huge depreciation and insurance costs. were done with new vehicles, it's way cheaper to maintain what you have.
But you can buy it from the manufacturer with out the extra stuff the dealer adds to up charge the price. Don't need leather or radio
Tires are NOT rated for “8 to 10 years”. At the 5 year mark they need to be replaced - especially if you do a lot of highway driving. Ask me how I know…
Exactly. Rental companies have been successfully sued for type blow outs that were 5 years and older.

Scraped for parts and or sold overseas.
@glrnnel5050 no... the unsold car are at the dealers that ordered them. They are sometimes stock with them.
Correction: The bank is going to send it to auction. Which is what the dealership wanted to prolong any repossession plans on their lot😂
There was a load of 100s of brand new cars unloaded off the ship and parked right at the shipyard at the south end of the Seattle waterfront. Been there going on 2 months now.
It occurred to me, that they might not be the same cars. It could be they unload, cars leave, new cars unload.
You are totally right and that can be a serious issue for mechanical parts, the longer they sit.
I passed on a VW Toureg TDI 6cyl due to lot rot. It was on a lease and was happy to give it back when after 9 months electronics started glitching.
I believe it ! most o.e.m.s contract out the electrical and tech to the very lowest bidder for mass production with very poor testing and grading procedures ,resulting in so many issues not long after buying. And are unserviceable unless you spend thousands at a dealership.

In south or North Dakota some dealer had cars from 60s and 70s that were sitting in a field and were brand new
They had a auction and sold them
You just added new meaning and depth 2 the word amazing , new sub here .
Would dealers like it if all customers just ordered the vehicle, arranged financing and waited for it to arrive, take possession and off they go? That’s what I do for all of my vehicles but I suspect the public wants to buy off the lot right away and not wait so they have to maintain an inventory.
Thanks for sharing
Some won't order to spec. They only will sell off the lot.
The profit margin on those $100k trucks is probably around $30k so they can make more off that one sale than they can selling 3x
$20k trucks that only have a $5k margin. And they have less overhead and production costs.
great job that was one of the best explanations of how the system works I've ever seen keep up the great work
My last two new vehicles were a Truck that I ordered from the factory (long bed), and a car that had just arrived and not yet prepped, having the shipping covers still on it, but was the top of the line trim package❗
One of the used lots that I'm watching that sells work / commercial trucks just went out of business and started up under a different name a couple of months ago. I can remember some of my used dealer customers doing that back in the early 90's and again in the 2000's when the economy tanked in BC.
Yes that’s almost inevitable in this market. Almost the perfect storm
After watching your video, I would like to ask you, where can I see these leftover cars from previous years? How can I search for it? Thank you
Early 1980 Jeep sent out a very good deal to anyone that had a licence to sell vehicles. A friend asked me to go with him and three others to Toledo Ohio to pick up five jeeps; at the factory. I couldn't get away at the time but that's how Jeep got rid of what they could not sell by usual ways.
Great sensible information. Thx Mark.
I have ALWAYS wondered what happens to cars that people don't want to pay for. 😂
There is an "end of the road" for some of them
back in 2019 i bought a new chevy truck and i asked the seller that question about the trucks that dont sell and i was told they end up send it them back to the factory where they take it apart and use the parts for the new trucks. i dont know if this was true but that is what they told me.
'So we at Ford are gonna put a three cylinder engine into a seven thousand pound Ford Excursion, and it will get one half extra mile per gallon'. (Although the turbo on that little three cylinder mill will burn it up within the first 3 years and require a computer engineering degree and 5 miles of plumbing to work)
I want a regular cab pickup truck, preferably a 4 cylinder Toyota, manual transmission, 6 foot bed. I do NOT need a 4-door truck. I have never needed a 4-door truck, never wanted an xtra-cab truck either! I just want a regular cab pickup truck, 4-cylinder Toyota, manual transmission with a 6 foot bed, only option would be air-conditioning. I don't even need an FM-radio! Build it like you used to build it TOYOTA. Don't shove the sissy-style Tacomas you are currently building! Build a real working-man's truck! I can't find a truck like this. What is so unusual in what I'm asking for Toyota?
Sometimes keeping it simple is best
So in order for you to go around this is to title it somehow and resell it as used now you have the freedom to sell it with price it suits you
Quick question! I need a larger SUV. My favorite is a 23 Lexus GX v8 version.
I know, right now, that’s not an option.
What’s a great SUV to lease that’s larger that has great deals..I’m think a Stellantis vehicle..but I have a dodge and I hate it because they don’t last.
My husband. Says with the interest rates so high on a used car, why not look at a new car.
I don’t want an electric vehicle. What’s a good Medium to Large sized SUV I could get a great deal on?
I need leather and heated seats …I live in New York State.
Any recommendations?
Most of these other vehicles.
@@markholubetz what about cheaper lease deals on something I’m not keeping? Any good screams deals out there I could get? Credit score is 700
@@tooltime9260 Well…we are third generation showing and breeding champion/rescue PWDs. For a Tool vehicle we need the room for the 4 large dog crates and they fit perfectly in the Lexus. We drive over 100K miles drive each year. As someone with 4 destroyed and “fixed” discs in my neck, mid back and two in my lower back, the heat is the only thing that gives me comfort, and the seat comfort helps with the driving. I also have Raynouds in my hands. We have had mini vans /sprinters ,over the years, but drove my friends Lexus when I was in Arizona and knew this was the investment I wanted to make for my health and comfort from the constant pain I deal with daily. So yes, it’s a want, but now, as I have been doing this for many years, it’s a need, so I can keep this going. I don’t want to stay home, I want to keep doing this thing with our PWDs and our family.
🐾🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺🐾 What say you @tooltime9260
Well a lot of dealerships in Dallas tx will not sell these cars for cheap.they charge to much money just to get them off the lot .because they no you desperate for a car .
Our local Nissan dealer has many new 2023 S rouge. the one I NEED was red, original 32K, discount 4k, Sale price 28k. OTD price was 33K include extended warranty because the factory warranty has only one year left. I asked them to lower some more. The manager said he couldn't lower anymore. I told him about the Mitsubishi has the year end sale going on with 2 years free oil change, free 3 tire rotation and big discount on their 2024 models . He said the best he can do is one free oil change. I thanks him and walked out. went to Mitsubishi dealer bought the Outlander SE. At 6:30 PM owner of Nissan contacted me if he can help me with pricing.
New cars aren't selling because of pushy salespeople, ridiculous mark ups, overall outrageous pricing, and every single brand new car has issues. Even Toyota is having problems with their new engines
I bought my 18 Corolla from Carvana, and I couldn't be happier with how they do things
the oil doesn,t degrade, addatives may a little but if it isnt run then it will be fine, probably wouldnt wait till full 5k miles but especially newer synthetics it the addatives and filter that are limitations, not the oil. but good info and good thought!
It's harder to get a vehicle cause they so over price and the company doesn't want to drop the price of them and the prices get higher and higher each year now
I"M A "MASTER MECHANIC" And I know I see this all of the time... That is where I bought my sons first car..."LOOK" when a car comes @ 8.000 down from the price of the car.."DO IT !!!!
Nice, sounds great
Its clear that dealerships are also hindering manufactures from moving inventory by keeping high markups, fees and extra charges in place. Any supposed discounts they are currently offering are still just chump change compared to the actual total sale cost. 🧐
Yup, Tesla's non stealership way of doing business is a 10x improvement in smoothness and transparency. Non scammy like stealerships. No-ICE.
I would agree with that
Great video thanks!! What is that black speck in the white of your eye? Sorry just curious.
what percent discount would you consider a tremendous deal on a $63k vehicle that's been on the lot for one year ?
40k if it's a truck, 35k if it's a SUV, 32k if it's a sedan, $500 bucks if it's a Nissan. I'm also assuming 63k is including a 7k markup due to 'market adjustments'.
@@RichieRich7339 its a bronco ..no mark up msrp
Stellantis claimed they will continue their hemi as their straight 6 isn't doing well.
That is totally savage
Awesome smart review thanks for the knowledge
Thanks for watching
Also agter years sitting builds up with water in the exhaust dystem. Catalytic converter starts rust blocking the flow of gases. Expensive repair.
I Ran Dealerships for 40 Years and never had a New Vehicle remaining on the lot more than 90 days afterv the Model Year Change. Also oil does not lose it's Viscosity from sittin unused. This Guy is Full of it!
Crazy, crazy idea.... This is gonna sound crazy... Call me crazy but imagine if you could like, place your order for something at the auto cartel's website , exactly how you want it, click add to cart, enter in a promo code so you can feel like you got a deal, and it's produced and shipped off to you, 6-8 weeks later without sitting around rotting on a dealership's lot. Totally bypassing the franchise dealerships altogether and their needs for profiteering. If it needs service you just take it to an authorized service garage.
Thanks a lot for sharing, that’s an interesting proposal and who knows but anything is worth a try
Just try to get proper warranty service or proper setup. Bon chance
@@markvincent5992 try that now tho. Because they all have to get approved or some proof of a failed part. I had to go to 3 different Nissan dealerships just to get a replacement starting battery because while the meter showed 1.2v not 12.0 but 1.2 the Renault computer showed it was a good battery.
I would NEVER buy a car that's been sitting on the lot for 2 years and never driven.
If I were going to spend 95,000 on a vehicle, it would be a '69 Camaro. Yes, they do exist.
Yes I would buy any Chevy from the 60s or early 70s
Own a 71 Chevy c10 still runs and drives great and I can fix it myself
I cant believe why people are asking where they can buy these liquidated cars. The answer is 1. A dealer only wholesale auction 2. Wholesaled to a overseas buyer 3. To retail customers who can recognize the oldest car sitting on the lot is what they can get 25-35% off MSRP.
Great information! How do the average consumer buy a new vehicle that didn't sell from the car graveyard. That is what I have been trying to buy for 2 years.
Great point!
There's no such thing. The vehicles stays at the dealers it was ordered.
Dealership could make money selling the vehicles to people that would be so incredibly grateful for the opportunity
surplus of full-size pickups but midsize pickups are still hard to find. Why?
Use the non selling cars for the world series demolition derby. Pay per view, weekly matches, no rules. You're welcome for that billion dollar idea
Hey I like it. Great idea
They'll 1st arrange sweet bulk deals to the car rental outlets, Hertz, Enterprise, Bridget, etc. Whatever remains they'll offer rebates on, but i wouldn't hold my breath.
