An EV car is a throw away like an iphone. Why should I get into a 7yr payment? For a car where the battery costs more to replace then the black book value of the car. Why would I get into a 7yr payment? For a car that insurance will right off very fast due to the cost of repairing the EV. I had my Frontier in for service and the Nissan dealership has an EV courtesy car. I had to ask the driver 7 times if there is enough juice in the car to drive me home.

I doesn't matter gas or electric its all over priced.

The auto makers need to have a come to Jesus meeting with White House reps, the head of agencies like the EPA and DOE and issue an ultimatum. Rescind all regulations, laws, Executive orders, etc that force a transition to EVs within two months or vehicle manufacturing will cease and all employees laid off. End the CAFE standards. Gut the ability of the CARB to have any impact on consumer goods outside of California and prevent any CARB edict from impacting what manufacturers produce for states outside of California. Or end CARB altogether. End carbon credits. Reduce stringent/onerous emission standards. Do it soon so that layoffs happen by 1 October if those demands are not met. Then all this nonsense of hybrids and small turbocharged engines should go away. Leave the EV market to Tesla. This should allow prices on ICE vehicles to drop substantially since automakers won't have to overcharge ICE vehicle buyers to prop up a failing EV program.

EVs make sense as little city commuters and I'm glad they exist...*AS AN OPTION* for those who want them. The consumer has spoken loud and clear regarding these vehicles. Automakers will go out of business if they continue making cars the consumer doesn't want.
