Almost 30,000 vehicles per day are being repossessed and the majority that know that they can't make the payments do not at all take care of. Many are ran into the ground. huge losses, many are going no bid because of the money that would have to put into them to be sellable.
Management of GM,Ford, Toyota thank you for paying their outrageous prices while cashing their multi million paychecks! It is not the workers who are making the money, it is the management!
I snagged an old truck for $1250 and had it for 5 years before it had a failure not worth repairing. $1200 in maintenance for 5 years of use. I sold it for 800$ scrap metal cost. It was a 94 and there is not a single one like it for sale period. Forced to look at 2000-2009 model years now and it doesn’t look good. 5 times the price, less reliable, more electronics, cost more to fix and less likely you can do it. Quite sad to see such a great vehicle era coming to an end. The cheapest truck you can buy that is still decent is 5k. That has a lot to do with having to buy newer to avoid a vehicle that won’t last 5 years. They don’t make like they used too 🤷♂️

The biggest reason as to why these vehicles are so expensive is because of the Factory Workers. They are Unionized (not saying unions are bad) and these Factory Workers think they need to make over $100 an hour (no exaggerating).

I have about a grand or so in repairs for my old 97 Chevy truck (AC, oil leaks and such) 🛻 But looking at what just a couple of payments on a $60K new truck would be, it’s a no brainer. 🤨 💸💸 My appointment to get everything fixed is Wednesday. 👍🏻 Besides sales to fleets, many dealers are buying the trucks to sell them as “used” even though they are technically “new”. Plus there are people buying these trucks that can’t really afford them. Won’t be long before a lot of these will be repossessed.
I don’t think so, doesn’t matter if it’s Chrysler Ford, or General Motors, it’s fleet sales, it’s not personal individuals buying the pick ups to put in their garage. It’s companies buying 20-30 trucks at a clip. The big three cooked their books still look good.
Some (many) idiots are taking the windfall profits made on housing (simply by owning a house) and doing equity takeouts to buy their "dream" truck. They will likely find out the difference between dreams and nightmares.
I absolutely love my 1995 Dodge Cummins with the manual transmission! It's completely paid off, the annual tax is about $50, and insurance is only around $150 every six months. Plus, it has the power to pull any load I need to haul. And I would not hesitate to embark on a cross-country road trip from North Carolina to California and back, with just enough money for fuel and food. Some of these new trucks remind me of the Navstar 6.0 Ford motor that I would not drive across the state of North Carolina without a credit line big enough to replace the motor at some point. If I were to buy a new truck, I'd be making monthly payments for years. Instead, I can put that same amount of money into savings. With the low operating costs of my current truck (taxes, maintenance, fuel, insurance), it's almost like driving it for free for the rest of its life - especially since it has a million-mile motor! I'm perfectly content with my current truck and have no plans to buy a new one. Even if truck prices were cut in half, I wouldn't be interested. My budget for a new truck simply doesn't align with the current market, capping out at around $30,000 to $40,000. There's a massive untapped market for a manufacturer willing to offer a no-frills, 2-door or 4-door truck with a manual transmission priced in the $30,000 to $40,000 range. Demand would far outstrip supply, and established truck brands like Ford would see their sales plummet like a comet getting pulled into a black hole. Ford and other manufacturers have inadvertently cornered themselves. If they introduce a reasonably priced truck in 2025 or 2026 it'll drastically devalue their current overpriced inventory, leaving them with trucks that either rust away unsold or are forced into bulk sales to entities like the government, who are essentially spending other people's money (taxpayer money).
The pricing sucks for sure. But newer cars in general do last longer then older cars in terms of milage. Studies are out for them already. It has come with a massive incress in cost to maintain and complexity that has hurt the home mechanic life.

In Rams defense, I must say, I visited my local ram dealership two weeks ago for service. And they only 2025s on their lot. The salesman said all 2324’s are long gone. And they were dealing on the 25s. And I realized, you can still get a brand new 2025 for $50,000 or less. It depends on how you option it out. if you do not need the motor, the big wheels, the big center console, and leather seats, etc. You can get a well equipped ram for 50 grand. My dealership had plenty of them the Jews from. The most expensive option is the four-wheel-drive and trim packages. Most people do not need 4 Wheel Drive! You can still get a lot of full-size truck for $50,000. You can’t just go by what’s on the dealer lot you may have to order it.
with online wholesale price is open to the public, the dealers decided to play the this game i will just charge extra add ons. take it or leave it mindset.
I think you should look at all of the recalls as some are big items that will tie up your truck/vehicle for some time. Ford suckin in valves, transmissions that are shifting to 1st gear at hiway speeds, leaky injectors. And that is just Ford. Even a Japanese brand has to do engine swaps due to bad engines. I get that there will be some recalls, but these are big expensive recalls.

Prices aren't coming down even though the market is rejecting these prices because the debt market is expanding at an ever-increasing rate. The Fed/BoC will continue to squeeze everyone who isn't fully leveraged. Everyone thinks lower rates will help them, but in fact, it's the poison that put people in this position in the first place.

Desperation buying! Why else would anyone pay that kind of price.
People love to show off their new vehicles because of low self esteem while they can't afford their other bills like mortgage
I would rather buy a used Tundra or Tacoma than anything new
Emotional spending is what’s happening. They need validation from people that they have a new truck 🤷♀️
Buying is up but so are Repo's
Yes big time
Almost 30,000 vehicles per day are being repossessed and the majority that know that they can't make the payments do not at all take care of. Many are ran into the ground. huge losses, many are going no bid because of the money that would have to put into them to be sellable.
Anyone with a brain isn't buying. It's not hard to sell to 480 credit score.
Yup, still driving my 2002 7.3 powerstroke! 27 bucks in repair bills so far, runs better every time I drive it.
They don’t make like they used too 🤷♂️
@@TinyGoHomes what wasn't worth fixing? I.e. what was too much. A new motor or transmission for 4k (even on $5k truck) would get you many more years. Heard the other day... Don't compare the fix price to the vehicle worth. Took me a while, but I got it. It's more like investing $4k for X number of years driving. Especially works comparing to new/used car prices.
@ the electrical box, transmission, windshield, drive shaft, rear suspension, rear brakes.
Felt underwater when I bought my used 07 megacab diesel 8 years ago. Paid it off quick. Looking at today's pricing, i got a steal.
People in alabama pay top dollar for those trucks just to use them as daily commuters, while bitching about the cost of gas.
Hear it all the time. It’s funny in a sad way 🤷🏻♂️
My 2016 2500hd Silverado gas just hit 240,000 miles Zero issues and will be cheaper to get another 250,000 by rebuilding and maintaining it
Mark you need to do a price comparison video, you can buy this 100k truck or you can buy a Porsche Boxster , a corvette stingray for 10k less , a Land Rover, a Mercedes roadster or a very well equipped Lexus GX. It’s ridiculous how out of touch the pricing is!!
The turbo max engine is a 2.7l turbo I4 cylinder. NOT A V6.
Depends on the vehicle.
Oh, and Jesus is a fictional character.
$ 225,000.00 plus tax for a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia with a DD15 diesel engine (10 wheels tractor to pull semi-trailers)
The biggest reason as to why these vehicles are so expensive is because of the Factory Workers. They are Unionized (not saying unions are bad) and these Factory Workers think they need to make over $100 an hour (no exaggerating).
The way truck prices are i would rather go find a 5 decade 4x4 without all these bells & whistles that i can service myself than spend 60 grand and up for a truck that you can't afford to make payments on! This is nuts!
Amazing. People walk in, willing to pay high prices.... Charge them as much as they're willing to pay. Until this changes, the game continues. See it with Carvana. Dummies buying online, like door dash or an Uber eats. Maybe some the auto makers can raise the prices to an an $150k/vehicle.. Dummies go for it. Impulse buying. Same going on with voting these days. Impulse voting. Vote on feelings, rather than content. As a former engineer, a lot of things don't make sense anymore. Maybe that's why there are sooo many people on psychotic drugs now.
MARK YOU DO A GREAT JOB EXPLAINING ALL THE INS AND OUTS ON THESE VEHICLES.. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. EVERYONE STAY SAFE AND ENJOY LIFE.
The average buyer is uninformed Mark
I think he's in Canada, maybe a little higher than in the USA.
Hey everyone! . If you're thinking of buying a new vehicle in Canada, here's a quick breakdown of the taxes you'll be paying in each province
Provincial Tax Breakdown
Alberta: Only 5% GST (no PST)
British Columbia: 5% GST + 7% PST = 12% total tax
Manitoba: 5% GST + 7% PST = 12% total tax
New Brunswick: 15% HST (combined GST + PST)
Newfoundland and Labrador: 15% HST (combined GST + PST)
Nova Scotia: 15% HST (combined GST + PST)
Ontario: 13% HST (combined GST + PST)
Prince Edward Island: 15% HST (combined GST + PST)
Quebec: 5% GST + 9.975% QST = 14.975% total tax
Saskatchewan: 5% GST + 6% PST = 11% total tax
Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon: Only 5% GST
Thank you for sharing as this is Canadian market lingo
Don't forget un Ontario , any vechicle over 100000 gets a luxury tax as well of 20 percent on the amount of 100 000 and that's on top of the 13%
I have about a grand or so in repairs for my old 97 Chevy truck (AC, oil leaks and such) 🛻
But looking at what just a couple of payments on a $60K new truck would be, it’s a no brainer. 🤨 💸💸
My appointment to get everything fixed is Wednesday. 👍🏻
Besides sales to fleets, many dealers are buying the trucks to sell them as “used” even though they are technically “new”.
Plus there are people buying these trucks that can’t really afford them. Won’t be long before a lot of these will be repossessed.
Same thing I tell my wife every time I spend money to fix my 20 year old cummins ram. Cheaper to keep her.
Entirely
" paid off " is the main ingredient that works
2.7 liter is a turbo 4 cylinder, not V6 as you mentioned...
✅️👍👌
Indeed, still not good
Overpaying for a modern car that won’t last up to 100K miles is baffling to me
The pricing sucks for sure. But newer cars in general do last longer then older cars in terms of milage. Studies are out for them already. It has come with a massive incress in cost to maintain and complexity that has hurt the home mechanic life.
$100000 for something that can’t have a transmission dipstick, and that is made to fail, no way I’m spending this kind of money for this kind of junk
Indeed do t blame you. Sounds like a losing proposition
At least you can live in the 54k dollar van when you can't afford rent.
Unless the police catch you in the van. More and more places don't let people park overnight.
I'm still 1/2 ton truck shopping in central and Northern Alberta...it's crazy
Me too.

How much we wanna bet those "chrome" handles are just sticker/decal/paint over plastic...
Super fun to watch "chrome" peel off in -40 degree winters...
insane. these car companies forgot about the middle class. sad.
They have indeed
Don't worry. The dealers have you covered. They have 10-year financing.
Too bad they don't last 10 years lol so many new trucks falling apart with recalls and electronic issues a few months later
Lots are one of two things, full or empty depending on the brand. The full lots are the brands pretending everything is fine and not reducing production. The empty lots are the realistic brands that can read the room.
Monthly payment on $90k ?
Plus insurance and maintenance? Wow!!
For the long term cloth seats are better than leather.
Absolutely right! Thanks for keeping an eye on the market for us.
I bought a basic 2019 f150 stx new for 38k and put my own mods into it and built what I wanted for far less than I could at any dealership. Zero issues so far and it’s almost paid off. Keeping it until the wheels fall off
just a few years ago the f150 xlt was in the mid-upper 40's
I need a truck but the pricing is insane. I do not need all these bells and whistles.
Same
It’s these BATA men. They just look at monthly payment. What use to be a $60k truck $800/month for 60 months is Now $800/ month for 84 months. They don’t care they just WANT IT NOW. Their lack of ability to defer gratification costs the rest of us
From 2013 -2020 I bought 6 brand new f150s. With these prices I totally stopped. I currently drive a Subaru Outback to do my truck needs
The 50K I'm spending doing a complete frame off restomod build on my 1960 F100 is easily justified it looks like!
I'll keep my 2014 Ford F 150 Limited. I bought used 5
years ago for $27K with 56,000 miles on it.
I can believe u paid 15,000 but 5,000.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I guess I'm never getting a new truck, thanks ceo's 🤯
Lmaooo..Ford pushed the Maverick as the 20 grand pickup when it hit the market. 🤷🏽♂️
Scam artists
Ah bullshit
Amenities=garbage. Men want an engine wrapped in metal and consider an ashtray and coolish air an amenity that’s what wing windows did.
ridiculous prices.
Go buy used Toyota p/u. Had since 2007
with online wholesale price is open to the public, the dealers decided to play the this game i will just charge extra add ons. take it or leave it mindset.
I guess im keeping the old cummins for ever
I think you should look at all of the recalls as some are big items that will tie up your truck/vehicle for some time. Ford suckin in valves, transmissions that are shifting to 1st gear at hiway speeds, leaky injectors. And that is just Ford. Even a Japanese brand has to do engine swaps due to bad engines. I get that there will be some recalls, but these are big expensive recalls.
Exactly
Gas prices are going up. It's nice to have a hybrid awd 4k towing, but you are correct prices are ridiculous!
Agreed!
@@ScooterPoot 07 Ram Cummins with a manual... It's been paid off for years. At low 20 mpgs, I'll never come close to what anyone makes in payments. It's not always about fuel mileage. DIY repairs vs dealer shops and vehicle payments.... Fuel savings get negated quick.
Companies trucks are selling alot still in southern Ontario.
Local truck accessory place has 100's in there lot prepping to be delivered .
55000 for a regular cab work truck is crazy !!
The lots are packed full of them in C.A, and i do not see any new trucks on the road . I hate Chrome. Why do they keep putting it on new vehicles? It looks very bad after a couple of years.
I agree
People who pay the ridiculous prices are nuts! Stop buying people. 🤨
I got a really good deal on my 2024 GMC sierra 1500 elevation but I purchased it in Dec of 2023. The same truck is way more expensive today. They raised prices and they aren't offering the same incentives that they were offering in Dec 2023.
2:26 the most stupid truck and most stupid price on that ugly thing.
RIGHT ON !!!! Completely AGREE, no one can afford SHT
My house only cost $139k. Who can possibly pay for a $112k truck?
People aren't buying them. Dealerships are buying them. Government agencies are also buying them
My 02 ram has never had a recall or major problem. Why? 120k to haul wood and topsoil?
I dont know why people dont buy 90s trucks or older
Over one tenth of a million dollars for a pickup. The world has absolutely lost its mind....😢
Yes it has and the people who pay this need to recalibrate
Plus Dodge/Stellantis should have keep the Hemi V8 engines as a option for people who still want them !! They just should have Re-engineer them for more efficiency and power !!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪
Absolute Insanity!!!
People are fools!
I make $87k
Literally can NOT afford Groceries let alone new vehicle. I’ll be driving my 2016 Wrangler unlimited till the wheels fall off.
People caused this silliness
I have a 2000 suburban ls. Paid $38,000 with tax and tags. Held it as long as can, now need new one. Will be 70-80 thousand without tax and tags, plus ridiculous insurance. Need to work more overtime.
I have a 2013 XLT Super Crew and a 2014 Gen1 Raptor. I don't plan on buying another new car for the rest of my natural life. Prices are unreal. Best thing about my trucks...they're paid off.
Its the taxes & insurance that just kills the market. Yes its also the MSRP
And not to mention the new Stellantis TT Hurricane 6CYI engines are having major problems, and Gradating themselves !!!😫😫😫🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I bought a 2018 Ram 1500 quad cab hemi (new old stock in 2019) WITHOUT navigation, leather seats, 4X4, sunroof because of budget constraints. I have paid that off and will NOT be buying a new truck anytime soon.
A coat of living crisis where overpriced vehicles are selling… What a conundrum.
People complain how much toyota hike up tacoma and tundra prices. Then I see the prices of big 3 pickup. 😳😳🤢🤢🤮🤮
It’s simply ridiculous
I still own my 1989 Chevy k2500, new it was a little over 17k, my pay back then was maybe 15k a year..now it only has 50k miles in it…it’s not perfect, but it well paid off…and I’ll not even look at replacing it!
Greed is getting out of control.🇺🇲🇨🇦
For $100k it ought to be 100% flawless for 10 years….and that ain’t happening.
Exactly
We should literally all have the most reliable vehicles, the metallurgy and engineering capabilities are all developed to produce vehicles that can last 40 years with minimal maintenance IF the global objective wasn’t for us to own nothing and be happy little peasants
I am 70 and in past recessions dealers or the manufacturers cut prices tremendously to move product. I might be tempted to buy if they do that. For now I will just sit and wait.
The funny part about the cargo van is that interior hasnt changed in a long.... time...... yet the price still goes up lol
Prices aren't coming down even though the market is rejecting these prices because the debt market is expanding at an ever-increasing rate.
In other words, more money printing is causing existing currency to become less valuable. Assets are not changing in value, it's how many dollars are required to buy them.
Keep borrowing America. The Fed/BoC will continue to squeeze everyone who isn't fully leveraged. Everyone thinks lower rates will help them, but in fact, it's the poison that put people in this position in the first place.
Nobody is printing money anymore
U mean they are going to scrap the vehicles because they get cheap money to survive so they don't need to sell or produce wealth so instead. They steal

These trucks are stacking up even on the Toyota lot in my area. My dealer has Tacoma's and Tundra's coming out their ears. If you consider the amount of credit card debt, debt default, interest rates, inflation and what most people make bring home it doesn't add up.
I offered a dealer 25k for a 2024 chevy truck they had listed for 89'000 dollars. They laughed and so did I. I told them...its all its worth! I'm not paying these corrupt ridiculous high prices...screw them!
I live in Tennessee and bought a house for half that, and it worth that much now. Vehicles are black holes for money.
