It really is sad that Bethesda has lost their way like this. Here’s hoping this allows for obsidian to make a proper comeback to power.
With The Outer Worlds, Obsidian is going to be thrust back into the spotlight I hope. Obsidian has been making great RPGs on PC the past few years (and yes, I know way before that too), but TOW is the first first person sci-fi rpg they've made since Fallout: New Vegas, which is much more "main stream" than the isometric RPGs they've been releasing recently.

I don't think it's that sad. Once a corporation gets big enough they lose their ability to be flexible and innovate. It's like that with business. Besides a company isn't a person and its sole aim is to make money so why should you feel ANY sort of dedication to it is absolutely beyond me. I think a lot of it has to do with the American consumerist culture which is naive and just isn't present in other countries.

A player that pays microtransactions are valued for every 5 that don't, so if from the 100,000 players they had in the beginning are now left 5,000 then they can milk them like they were 25,000 players. So they will make it worth because they have nothing else to grab unto.

Last March, I think, I read a news article that three people this year had died at Grand Canyon National Park. The Fallout 76 Fallout 1st pass is kind of like that. Everyone on the internet has done all that they can reasonably be expected to do to protect people from 76. But some people just don't want to be saved.
There was a story in the UK recently that someone stuck their head out of a window of a moving train and died. There are complaints that the warning sign telling them not to do it wasn't large enough.... Seriously. It's apparently the train company's fault because someone thought that would be a good idea. Fallout 76 will have people as the shop keepers so no npcs, that means no official prices on anything.
No npcs when all their good titles are built around npcs having good narrative.
You can launch full size nukes anywhere, so pk turned up to 1k.
Only cosmetic mtx, basically sold mods.
