This actually is a model that works. You depend on the small group of people that are willing to spend hundreds/thousands on your game. The rest of the players, the majority, that bitch and moan are not expected to spend any money on your game anyway.
A player that pays microtransactions are valued for every 5 that don't, so if from the 100,000 players they had in the beginning are now left 5,000 then they can milk them like they were 25,000 players. So they will make it worth because they have nothing else to grab unto.
I'm glad to see Joe showing some frustration and condemnation towards the fools who just HAD to buy 1st on day 1. Last March, I think, I read a news article that three people this year had died at Grand Canyon National Park. When asked if this was going to cause any changes in the park and its safety procedures, a National Park Service spokesperson said, effectively, "No. We already put up fences by all the cliffs and 'Do Not Climb Over The Fence' signs next to the fences. The fact that people will ignore the sign and climb over the fence to stand next to the cliff is saddening, but we take no responsibility for their deaths. We have done everything we reasonably can to protect our guests, but it is not possible to protect people who intentionally defy safety rules." The Fallout 76 Fallout 1st pass is kind of like that. Everyone on the internet has done all that they can reasonably be expected to do to protect people from 76. But some people just don't want to be saved.
There was a story in the UK recently that someone stuck their head out of a window of a moving train and died. There are complaints that the warning sign telling them not to do it wasn't large enough.... Seriously. It's apparently the train company's fault because someone thought that would be a good idea. Crazy world!
Michael Ramon there’s a difference: people who bypass the safety fences do so to go looking for something “off the beaten path” (and achieve it with mixed results). In the case of Fallout 76, the result is universally terrible.

16:52 As someone who has a ton of experiance with the Creation Engine and how it functions, This bug is actually one of the most SIMPLE bugs to fix (I've actually fixed it in 15 minutes in the past) and it has even carried over from Fallout 4. Basically, What causes it is that certain weapons (especially the handmade rifle) are still missing crutial sound files for certain fire rates (usually above 800-900rpm) and the Creation Engine freaks out and tries to play whatever audio file it can find relating to the weapons fire rate (in this case the default fire rate) and it will get stuck thinking that it needs to keep replaying the audio file even after the weapon has finished firing because it cannot connect the end the weapon firing with the non-existant audio file. In the case of the handmade rifle in Fallout 4, Bethesda left out an audio file that should have been named: WPN_RifleHomemadeAssault_Fire_Auto_MuzzleBrake_0900rpm_Player_LPM.wav This bug can lead to a neverending audio loop that can only be stopped by an interruption of the worldspace itself and unloading and reloading EVERYTHING to purge out the firing function. (typically a loading screen or loading a new save in FO4 will do this just fine.) So how do you fix this? Must be so difficult for Bethesda to fix if it's taken them 6 times right? Just take the sound file for the default firing speed, copy it, speed it up, and rename it to the desired firing speed of the audio file that is missing. Bug fixed. How they have yet to fix this when there is LITERALLY MODS ON THE NEXUS THAT HAVE FIXED IT FOR YEARS is beyond me.
They literally don't give a fuck. As easy as that. Like when they advertised canvas bags and then send the people fucking plastic dump bags. That's no mistake. That's no overseeing. That literally is not giving a damn fuck about the customers. And why? Because you have still left a lot of complete fucking idiots who defend that shit. There really are people who pay for that insane subscription. They are as close to getting raped in the ass by Bethesda as it legally can get, without being physically touched. They are brainraped in the ass by Bethesda. And it looks like they love it. These people really need help. And im not a Bethesda hater. Morrowind is still on my personal list of the greatest games ever. But Bethesda has changed a lot since Skyrim exploded in popularity back then.
The big question then becomes: "what the hell else are they doing with their time!?!" If they could basically lift a lot of these bug fixes from the Nexus wholecloth (disregarding the morality of that for a second), but aren't doing so and are bringing out more shallow content that is fundamentally broken while updates such as The Wastelanders are being pushed back. It really makes you wonder what all the time is going into at Bethesda studios and how bad the mismanagement on the upper rungs has to be for so observably little to happen in such a span of time. Someone must be choosing not to fix bugs in exchange for what, more strategy brainstorming session or pivoting workshops?
@@DiggingForFacts It's fundamentally Zenimax that is causing this and not really Bethesda. You see, A lot of people like to point the finger at Todd Howard and say "Haha! Todd Howard is a liar! Haha! Tell me sweet little lies Todd!" When Todd really has NOTHING to do with it. The major problem is Zenimax has no idea what is actually happening internally within Bethesda and only function as Bethesda's parent company and deliver funding and control Bethesda from behind the scenes. If Zenimax wants a new Fallout within 2 years, You bet your ass that Bethesda will go absolutely apeshit and scramble to get it done on time whether it is finished or not. That's the reason why Fallout 76 even exists. Bethesda is at the mercy of Zenimax and if Bethesda fails to deliver what Zenimax wants they run the risk of not being paid and even bankruptcy. That's why other titles produced under Zenimax such as Doom 2016, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, etc... Have been allowed to flex their creativity and completely break the barrier technologically and come out as really high rated and well enjoyable experiences. ID and Machinegames are not being pushed as hard as Bethesda is because Zenimax is starting to become disappointed with Bethesda's overall recent performance and sales profits so they are demanding more games under the most popular titles that Bethesda has to squeeze profit out of them. (That's why Fallout 76 was terrible and a bug ridden mess) Doom 2016, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, etc... don't have these problems since they were very profitable with their launches and their engines are better optimized and don't require a ton of resources and time to be poured into just to get them to work properly. Bethesda is fully aware that their engine is at it's limits and breaking down. But they cannot AFFORD to dedicate the time and resources to producing a homebrew fully functional optimized and custom engine that would allow them the same flexibility and mod access that fans are demanding. Bethesda works on what Zenimax wants, and to Zenimax, Giving Bethesda the profits to create a new engine from the ground up is apparently not a worthy investment to them so they are forcing Bethesda to put things like the $100 subscription service and the repair kits and stuff into the Atomic Shop just to push the profit margin higher because the sales profits from 76 did NOT reach what Zenimax wanted. Meanwhile Todd HAS to do and say WHAT HE IS TOLD TO, Or runs the risk of being demoted or even fired. Todd is not lying on purpose and you can genuinely see how uncomfortable he was at e3 2018. Todd KNOWS it's fuck up, But he can't really do anything because Bethesda relies on Zenimax to survive because, Much to the Fallout communities disbelief, the Fallout franchise is NOT going to keep Bethesda afloat anymore on it's own NOR IS THE ELDER SCROLLS FRANCHISE. Bethesda has too many employees and new studios that Zenimax have acquired and brought in (the mobile dev team that were hired by Zenimax and Bethesda) and Bethesda CANNOT afford to lose their relationship with Zenimax. Doing so would cause a HUGE drop in quality, or even the announcement of no more Fallout titles or Elder Scrolls titles because Bethesda wouldn't be able to afford to pay the workers or the resources to develop the games themselves. This would lead to the eventual crash and closing of Bethesda itself because there is nothing that can be done without the proper funds. As for what is happening with Starfield. Believe me when I say this, We may just be looking at another Fallout 76 scenario coming up and it was probably just the horrid idea of Zenimax to jump onto the whole MMORPG trend that Destiny started and so many developers are trying to recreate. And if you don't believe me, Just look at the development studios that have left Zenimax and Bethesda and have thrived because they were smart and realized that Zenimax is a HORRIBLE parent company that abuses it's development sectors. Take Obsidian for example, They left and are now with Xbox Game Studios and are doing better than ever. And with the release of The Outer Worlds and the praise that has been getting recently, You can see how they were smart to move on. Zenimax is purposefully starving Bethesda of resources and funding and forcing Bethesda to produce mediocre games just to pull in sales and prey on customers by using very highly regarded and deeply loved franchises that Bethesda has created or acquired to manipulate customers into buying the games despite the quality being tremendously terrible in hopes that the "Bethesda name" will bring in the profits until the well runs dry and they cut Bethesda's life support. Regardless of the bugs, Regardless of the outcry, Regardless of Todds lies, Bethesda's days are numbered at this point. And they would be smart to just follow what Obsidian did and find a way to jump ship to a new parent company that will treat them better and give them the proper funding and resources to create and deliver the games that the fans want and to bring in even more profits and win more awards from the games themselves instead of just the titles on the box. Though, That is difficult to imagine considering how deeply intertwined Bethesda is owned by Zenimax and the Bethesda may just be an old dried up broken corpse that Zenimax is parading around just to squeeze profits out of the once great name Bethesda had for itself.

We have done everything we reasonably can to protect our guests, but it is not possible to protect people who intentionally defy safety rules."
The Fallout 76 Fallout 1st pass is kind of like that.

As someone who has a ton of experiance with the Creation Engine and how it functions,
This bug is actually one of the most SIMPLE bugs to fix (I've actually fixed it in 15 minutes in the past) and it has even carried over from Fallout 4.
In the case of the handmade rifle in Fallout 4, Bethesda left out an audio file that should have been named: WPN_RifleHomemadeAssault_Fire_Auto_MuzzleBrake_0900rpm_Player_LPM.wav
This bug can lead to a neverending audio loop that can only be stopped by an interruption of the worldspace itself and unloading and reloading EVERYTHING to purge out the firing function. (typically a loading screen or loading a new save in FO4 will do this just fine.)
So how do you fix this?
Must be so difficult for Bethesda to fix if it's taken them 6 times right?
Just take the sound file for the default firing speed, copy it, speed it up, and rename it to the desired firing speed of the audio file that is missing.
Bug fixed.
How they have yet to fix this when there is LITERALLY MODS ON THE NEXUS THAT HAVE FIXED IT FOR YEARS is beyond me.
nobody asked
Haha! Tell me sweet little lies Todd!"
When Todd really has NOTHING to do with it.
(That's why Fallout 76 was terrible and a bug ridden mess)
Doom 2016, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, etc... don't have these problems since they were very profitable with their launches and their engines are better optimized and don't require a ton of resources and time to be poured into just to get them to work properly.
And if you don't believe me,
Just look at the development studios that have left Zenimax and Bethesda and have thrived because they were smart and realized that Zenimax is a HORRIBLE parent company that abuses it's development sectors.
Take Obsidian for example,
They left and are now with Xbox Game Studios and are doing better than ever.
Regardless of the bugs,
Regardless of the outcry,
Regardless of Todds lies,
Bethesda's days are numbered at this point.

Parvati out of no where asks you the player for dating advice with another person of the same sex BUT Parvati has no interest in physical relationships. (Sex, kissing, hugging, none of it because that's not something you need for a relationship.)
Like wtf we have known each other for like a day and (for me) destroyed your town by turning off the power and you ask me for advise. Then to rub it in you can confess to loving her yourself but she rejects you and that's it. There is no other relationship in the game for you or any of your companions at all.
And i don't mean like Bioware kind, i mean like just saying i love you or a single hug/kiss NOPE because fuck you for wanting to get attached to someone.
And they can't even use the excuse that it's because you/they just met because Parvati only just met the person she loves.
And i know people are going to defend them for it or say it doesn't affect the gameplay, but guess what it does for me.
It's an RPG without being able to fully roleplay.
2008: Thank you, Bethesda!
2018: What gives, Bethesda?!
The old devs retired and the new generation is too incompetent to make quality

Oh look Bethesda are still kicking the dead corpse that was their reputation.
Did they get it armour first?
"Stoooop! He's already dead!"
I thought they prop'd it up on a chair and pretended it was still alive.
But the horse makes funny squeaky fart noises every time you punt it.
Bethesda's reputation was undeserved as far as I'm concerned. They showed their colors back when they sold HORSE ARMOR dlc for Oblivion. Also, that's when all the bugs started.
If you’re still giving Bethesda money after all this, god help you.

This reeks of not enough active players and sales. Would absolutely recommend avoiding this last ditch attempt, literally even more money down the drain! Why the fuck would anyone buy this shit anymore when we have a REAL fallout game now, the outer worlds.
2019 actually feels like the most controversial year in gaming ever. It sucks and these companies suck.
you mongs still support them though. they are winning, hard
Pretty much. It's not the worst year in gaming history, hell, it's not even the worst year this gen (this gen truly started in 2015, change my mind), but holy shit the controversies just came on and on and on
Awesome! - Bethesda: Yes!
Video games exist in a uniquely unregulated sector of labor. There are no specialized consumer protections within the gaming industry (outside of generic consumer rights), and this is being further exploited by the year. It's going to take time before things get better
Perfect time for something new.
Bethesda replaces the “I” in “S.P.E.C.I.A.L.” with idiocy instead of intelligence.
Monsterman 1315
Straight up Facts
Nah, Bethesda is just SPECIAL, if you catch my drift
Crisp Rat nice
Level 10 intelligence: veteran fallout mod author
Level 1 intelligence: Bethesda
Edit:
Actually no, they’re about level 2
Level 1 would be the people who knew the game was broken and still bought the damn $100 pass
They removed the "I" because they're not smart enough to spell "special" right. Now that letter's just sitting in the landfill where they keep weapon skills and perk-based dialogue options.
This failure... is truly specal.
Wow, this is truly amazing. I played the game for a few hours and gave up thinking they couldn't have failed any harder. I stand corrected.
Bethesda never ceases to disappoint
Fallout 76 is the gift that keeps on sucking.
Todd Howard: 16 times the money for me
Audience: YYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Todd Howard: It just works
Meanwhile the actual audience is sitting there like "what the fuck, Todd?!" and all the noise is coming from Bethesda employees who were seeded into the audience to make it look like the community actually wanted this garbage.
"who's laughing now" -Todd Howard
Im convinced he didnt know this would be such a dumpster fire and after coming back from the shadows and trying to talk good about the new content they just fucked shit even harder and Todd is now sitting in his bathtub crying.
@@RivkahSong i think there are still enough ultra fanbois they don't really need to hire claquers
@@megapro125 Considering the reaction from most of the gaming community after the E3 announcement for 76, especially when he revealed there would be no npcs, only players, it seems pretty obvious that those same few people leading the cheers nearly every time are probably employees. It just seems like something a company like Bethesda/Xenimax or EA would do, planting shills to help set the tone for the announcement and excite the audience. Especially since none of the AAA developers want another Blizzcon "do you even have phones" moment.
Though I hope the fanboys would have been beaten down enough that they wouldn't clap and cheer along WITH the shills this time.
So, anyone else looking forward to Internet Historian's part two on Fallout 76?

The writing was on the wall for Bethesda the day they tried to get people to pay for mods: the only thing that made their wonky games worth playing.
If you preordered Fallout 76 you deserved this.
And if you paid for Fallout 1st there's no hope for you.
Paying for content that was made by volunteers? Pass.
They're gonna try it again. To make people pay for mods.
Same goes to every modded game like wow gta fallout etc etc
its like a Jewish star back those days just marking you as victim if you pay that Abo. WTF
Bethesda used to be my favorite developers.
Now, I only hope that they go bankrupt and a better developer gets the rights to Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
Like CD project red
Why not Obsidien they would literially be giving them their IP back (fallout).
@Yamadiyoo that is a good point. I mean didn’t play fnv but I heard it was the best fallout
I would prefer that they learn their lesson, stop their bullshit, actually make a good game, and stop relying on the modding community to improve/fix everything. Sometimes a company needs a good kick in the teeth to teach them a lesson, it doesn't require forcing people to be unemployed who didn't have a say in the matter. The problem is the people on top who make these decisions.
Bethesda is going nowhere. Similar to EA, Activision, Ubisoft etc, they have a lot of blind fans who will rush to buy their next game... even if it's the same broken mess that Bethesda has been releasing for over 20 years now. Personally, I stopped supporting them after I bought Skyrim and realised how bad that game was and I don't plan on giving them any cash again.
The joke is that someone bought the subscription and was able to find this.
