What happened was that Take-Two paid a bunch of money to Infogrames for the production of the game, but 3DRealms, the people who were mainly responsible for the actual game, never got any of the money. So they were taking their sweet time with things and eventually 3DRealms went under. Take-Two naturally were pretty pissed about this and decided they needed to capitalize on their property ASAP so they kept Tryptech Games working on it, and they were based in the same building as Gearbox Software (led by Randy Pitchford). Randy started pumping money into things and in less than six months, the game was released. Even though it took a decade and a half to materialize, the brunt of the actual development on Duke Nukem Forever happened in the last half a year of its existence before release.

Guys, I haven’t played the Fallout games before but I saw the other fallout games when ppl were playing them. I was so hyped to get FO76 and play it and see how cool it would be. Ló be told FO76 was terrible, and I didn’t buy the game. I’m sticking to basic shooters like COD and different games. Sorry for the story. 😅

Ok, 2 years later... I'm watching this and decide to give the game another try, even though I've given up on it multiple times. During the time of this video, I experienced 3 full on crashes from the main menu and had the "stuck at the workbench when you finish so you have to fast travel to break out of it" happen twice. Wow...
Near as I can tell, it’s still pretty buggy, and while it respects your time slightly more than it did at launch, it respects your wallet a whole hell of a lot less.
I gave up on 76 a few months ago it's just as screwed as before especially with all of the issues they created for no reason and then they sell us a fix..

For the record, it’s mid-2021 now and you can still get stuck in your power armor. I force closed the game after waiting for ages, and it straight up deleted my power armor. (Full Ultracite set with jetpack) At which point I just stopped playing. 😅

It's funny that I actually preferred the PVP in this game. I'm the type of player to leave people alone. In GTA and RDR I'll go right past other players. Unfortunately too many people do not. Felt nice to be able to see other players without fear of getting harrassed for literally NO REASON. Within 1 hour of playing Red Dead Redemption 2 online, a player in town killed me twice while I was in menus. The third time he came I killed him and left town. So of course he followed me until I started a mission to get out of that world. That's NOT fun. FO76 basically neutered PVP but I prefer this over the dumbass bounty systems that do nothing. We need to find a better middle ground though, the way to duel in this game is stupid. But they do have good PVP in FO76, when I captured a public base someone tried to take it from me so I fought them. Those instances are when PVP is fun. Not when you're minding your own business so someone has to kill you for no reason
LITERALLY from day 1 on their own forums, people were asking for separate PVP and PVE servers, so that people who WANT to PVP can, and people who don't, don't need to deal with it. Even Angry Joe recognizes that making it easier to find what you want (separate servers) is the way to go. Why can't Bethesda?
if you like the pvp from fallout, then you dont like pvp at all. is the worst pvp mechanic ever. its only good for pve since no one wanna fight anyone. its ok if you prefer pve but destroying pvp this way just for that, it aint worth it nor fair for those who do like it. shouldve been different servers. regarding red dead, when you get killed 4 times by the same guy you can "parley" which the victim can turn on and wont be bothered by that guy for 10 mins. 4 deaths are kinda too much if youre impatient or something, but its better than gta passive mode which was exploited by griefers lol
Why is there a cryolator in Appalachia? In Fallout 4, it was an experimental weapon belonging exclusively to a member of the vault. Having it exist elsewhere with the same design is just lazy on Bethesda’s part. It’s like the jet retcon, it’s not a huge deal, but it shows how lazy Bethesda really is about adhering to Fallout lore.

To me game patches are just like patching a hole on pants, even though it my look of function better there will always be something there that reminds you of what it was like before the patch. Even if Bethesda could fix 90% of fallout 76 there would always be memories of what it was like

I can relate on so much of this. I just had to quit my first Game Design job at one studio (not naming it) because i got literally sick of they way we had deal with our players and how design choices were often made by our CEO, basically changing his opinions on the fly, having no real vision and being totally narrow minded. Going for the quick bucks and no throughout thoughts, even failing on things we already did right before. We like already had developed some interesting battle mechanics in one game I pushed through with one of the programmers and they simply didn't want it in there. Well, it is alread in it, but not active (good going lol). I feel for all the workers at Bethesda, having to simply roll with it and for having their concenrs ignored even if they discussed it in multiple meetings with their superiors... I just want to work in a studio where we can be open an honest about our work, but with shit like this becoming more common... well, the peeps who actually give a shit about their projects and their players are getting fucked.
Yes. Fallout 76 is definitely better than how it launched, but it’s still and will always be mediocre due to its poor foundation, built upon lies and greed.
That patch in february brought some life quality changes, but this does not outdo to negatives. Less ammo production, power cores get used faster, legendary enemys spawn less
With regards to the canvas bag, Bethesda has stated that to make up for it, they'll be giving 500 atoms to any player that can provide proof of purchase. Which, as we saw in the other review, is basically equal to $5 in-game credit. And in such a twist of irony, 500 Atoms won't even buy you the postman skin (700 atoms), which has a canvas bag. This is the kinda thing that I'd expect from a badly-managed Kickstarter campaign, not from a triple-A studio.

4 years later I bought the game for 10 USD, and Del was right, so far I only discovered one other vault aside from 76. Vault 51, and all the residents inside are dead, the vault being taken over by the scorched, I mean ghouls? I mean burnt raiders? Whatever they are, Del's prediction was on the money. Regarding some performance FPS issues, the rig I have is not a slouch but not a NASA super computer by any means. it's got a I-5 processor and a GTX 1070TI and a solid state drive. And I've seen FPS drops like 15 FPS in combat with mild amount of NPC's.
People should just stop pre-ordering games. it gives the developer reason to "give up" before it's even finished. The only thing that has gotten better in Bethesda games since Oblivion is the graphics ... and they're not even that good.

Bethesda, I’m going to tell you a story, about a game called “No Man’s Sky Next” and why you should be following their shining example, but you never will: The game was released unfinished due to over commitment, while yours is due to deception. What you are doing is much worse since there is a big difference between over commitment and deception, and that difference is intent. Shortly after release, the Hello Games devs admitted their mistakes and redeemed themselves by spending the next few years improving the game (and they still are), at no additional cost and without micro transaction BS. Because of all this, Hello Games has been mostly forgiven and is now a respected company. If they can do it with a MUCH smaller dev team, why can’t you? If Final Fantasy 14 can do it, why can’t you? There is no excuse. This is why you have lost all respect and credibility. Sure, you haven’t had years to redeem yourselves like they have, but two months in, you’re still not on the right path like they were in the first 2 months. Fallout and Elder Scrolls... should always have remained single player narratives, that take players through an adventure.
But they see Activision, EA, and EPIC milking the teat and all they see is an opportunity. Games like ESO and Fallout 76 aren’t made to enrich their worlds, they’re made because MMO’s are a safe bet for constant revenue and for some reason the industry loves cramming MTs and lazy practices in online games. Ok, 2 years later... I'm watching this and decide to give the game another try, even though I've given up on it multiple times. During the time of this video, I experienced 3 full on crashes from the main menu and had the "stuck at the workbench when you finish so you have to fast travel to break out of it" happen twice. Wow...

Bethesda created one of the worst PVP experiences in gaming history....out of fear of creating a bad PVP experience. That is beautifully incompetent.
The Fallout 76 Experience Mod for Fallout New Vegas has better PvP, and those are just NPCs pretending to be other players.
It's funny that I actually preferred the PVP in this game. I'm the type of player to leave people alone. In GTA and RDR I'll go right past other players. Unfortunately too many people do not. Felt nice to be able to see other players without fear of getting harrassed for literally NO REASON. Within 1 hour of playing Red Dead Redemption 2 online, a player in town killed me twice while I was in menus. The third time he came I killed him and left town. So of course he followed me until I started a mission to get out of that world. That's NOT fun.
FO76 basically neutered PVP but I prefer this over the dumbass bounty systems that do nothing. We need to find a better middle ground though, the way to duel in this game is stupid. But they do have good PVP in FO76, when I captured a public base someone tried to take it from me so I fought them. Those instances are when PVP is fun. Not when you're minding your own business so someone has to kill you for no reason

Why is there a cryolator in Appalachia? In Fallout 4, it was an experimental weapon belonging exclusively to a member of the vault. Having it exist elsewhere with the same design is just lazy on Bethesda’s part. Fallout 76 really shouldn't exist, or at least not by Bethesda's hands. It's a bare-bones, buggy, outdated, boring survival "sim". At best you could call it early access or beta.
If the new ES game is still going to use that crap engine, have the same amount of bugs as asual and having me to rely on mods to actually make it worth playing then I won't be bothered anymore. Hell, even the "oooo Starfield, we doin' space stuff now!" is meh cuz they can't even treat exisiting IP's well.

The people praising it now are the people giving the exact reaction Bethesda wants. They’re ignoring the game’s past to say “it’s fine now”, which in turn excuses Bethesda’s actions. Waiting 2-3 years to get the game in fine condition is just gross. It should’ve launched that way. It’s like nobody has the balls to make a stand and are just fine with indulging Bethesda in what they did.

I've never played this game and likely never will because products like these at launch and overall don't deserve my money and this comes from someone who has been Fallout fan for long time. I think players are stupid and part to blame that they tolerate this kind of business practices and philosophy that it's okay to have piece of shit, broken ass, fucked up cash grab, lore breaking, unethical microtransaction shitfests as long as the company fixes it later.. well if they do. I can relate on so much of this. I just had to quit my first Game Design job at one studio (not naming it) because i got literally sick of they way we had deal with our players and how design choices were often made by our CEO, basically changing his opinions on the fly, having no real vision and being totally narrow minded. Going for the quick bucks and no throughout thoughts, even failing on things we already did right before. We like already had developed some interesting battle mechanics in one game I pushed through with one of the programmers and they simply didn't want it in there. Well, it is alread in it, but not active (good going lol). I feel for all the workers at Bethesda, having to simply roll with it and for having their concenrs ignored even if they discussed it in multiple meetings with their superiors... I just want to work in a studio where we can be open an honest about our work, but with shit like this becoming more common... well, the peeps who actually give a shit about their projects and their players are getting fucked.

Yes. Fallout 76 is definitely better than how it launched, but it’s still and will always be mediocre due to its poor foundation, built upon lies and greed.
That patch in february brought some life quality changes, but this does not outdo to negatives. Less ammo production, power cores get used faster, legendary enemys spawn less
With regards to the canvas bag, Bethesda has stated that to make up for it, they'll be giving 500 atoms to any player that can provide proof of purchase. Which, as we saw in the other review, is basically equal to $5 in-game credit. And in such a twist of irony, 500 Atoms won't even buy you the postman skin (700 atoms), which has a canvas bag. This is the kinda thing that I'd expect from a badly-managed Kickstarter campaign, not from a triple-A studio.

4 years later I bought the game for 10 USD, and Del was right, so far I only discovered one other vault aside from 76. Vault 51, and all the residents inside are dead, the vault being taken over by the scorched, I mean ghouls? I mean burnt raiders? Whatever they are, Del's prediction was on the money.
Regarding some performance FPS issues, the rig I have is not a slouch but not a NASA super computer by any means.
it's got a I-5 processor and a GTX 1070TI and a solid state drive.
And I've seen FPS drops like 15 FPS in combat with mild amount of NPC's.

Bethesda, I’m going to tell you a story, about a game called “No Man’s Sky Next” and why you should be following their shining example, but you never will:
The game was released unfinished due to over commitment, while yours is due to deception. What you are doing is much worse since there is a big difference between over commitment and deception, and that difference is intent. Shortly after release, the Hello Games devs admitted their mistakes and redeemed themselves by spending the next few years improving the game (and they still are), at no additional cost and without micro transaction BS. Because of all this, Hello Games has been mostly forgiven and is now a respected company. If they can do it with a MUCH smaller dev team, why can’t you? If Final Fantasy 14 can do it, why can’t you? There is no excuse. This is why you have lost all respect and credibility. Sure, you haven’t had years to redeem yourselves like they have, but two months in, you’re still not on the right path like they were in the first 2 months.
Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And yet, it seems you’re intent on doing exactly that. Remember Mass Effect Andromeda? There is a lot of history there.
They just really like money, so they'll attempt to get the most money out of fallout 76, by milking cash from what's left of the playerbase.
