Thank you so much for talking about this! I have been struggling with certain addictions, and I have focused on praying and asking God for strength, and what you say about trying not to be alone is very true, it is always when I am alone that I am attacked. It is true that it was an issue that when I looked for help I only found help for men, and I did not feel that it helped me, I only felt help when I found God in the word and how focusing only on Him was going to help me. This is an interesting topic. A "hot topic " maybe. We could look at It theology... and it is interesting what the Holy Bible says about adultery and marriage in men vs women... or we could discuss the "culture." In my experience.... I have observed that people are tempted by different things... all kinds of things. And those things get in the way of peoples lives, and the tolerance people have for those suffering addiction varies depending on circumstances. Paul tells us in 1 cor. 10:13 that no temptation has taken us but what is common to all. In remarking on who is making this culture tolerable... I think women/ girls have something to do with it. They don't seem to mind what a man did in the past only what he is going to do for them going forward. And that mindset allows them to be used by boys/men sexualy because they allow themselves to believe that this person is worthy of "love" or whatever they want to give them. I could go on but I'm not trying to write a book...
