I second this. The feeling in the moment is nothing compared to the guilt and damage after. I know it was before I became Catholic and knew right vs. wrong, but it haunts me every day what I did in the past. Stay strong and God bless.
dating as a catholic is so hard in this day and age. most people want to skip stages and go straight to the bedroom and forget about each other until they feel the urge again. it's so sad, and even sadder when they make fun of you for wanting to wait. i decided to stop trying to meet people for this reason but it also makes me feel very alienated. i pray everyday for guidance, please, pray for me too. god bless you ❤

And relax. I'm 29 and single, going to mass is a true advice, because then you go to Catholic groups, you get to know new people and probably a girl. And only if you don't, excersice, cuz the physical appearance help a lot to create the necessary attraction
I think most Protestants would completely agree with your dating tips, Nathalie. This seems to be an area where Catholic beliefs and Protestant beliefs are very similar.

What would be your take on whether it is appropriate or not to go on a trip with your boyfriend/girlfriend? For example I see no problem on doing a one-day trip as it does not involve sleeping. My personal take is that if it is with your family and you guys will be in completely separate rooms then it is ok, but not a friends trip because there is no legitimate authority to watch over you which leads to temptation, and definitely don't go solo. I think that it is okay under parental supervision but when lights are out lights are out!

It is hard but not impossible at all- don’t be discouraged! I am 22 years old now and i am living a chaste relationship with my boyfriend! It is challenging but very worth it. I really recommend you to find friends in the faith that are also trying to live chaste relationships. Look into the theology of the body- there’s many books and videos on it. Also if you really feel that this seems out of reach, pray that God may grant you the grace to desire a chaste relationship in order to live a much freeing and fulfilling life with Him.

I recommend reading "Theology of the Body" for EVERYONE. Try to find the easy or "beginners" version.

The point on talking is key: words form images in our head (thoughts) and thoughts are the basis for actions.
