    Recently, I’ve been using the Vegan Ceramide Barrier Face Cream by Pacifica Beauty ($18 for 1.7 oz). It has ceramides, a peptide, amino acids, niacinamide, and oat flour. It’s really soothing on areas where I have eczema flares, and I prefer the texture to the Cerave cream.

    I absolutely love Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream, it’s very effective on hydrating and moisturizing my skin and it has that luxurious feel on the skin and it absorbs really well without any tacky after feel. I use it after retinol or any other serums I use to seal in the active ingredients and to moisturize and build the skin barrier and it’s a steal! xD

  • @lorainemcgillivray77

    Hi ouch $136 for a perfumed moisturiser lol. I have hyper sensitive, very dry, mature, rosacea and eczema prone skin and struggle to find a really rich night cream from many brands. Cereve burns/stings on my skin and skinfix isn't available in the UK. I normally use the LRP baby Lipikar AP+M face and body cream - 400mls for around £20. It's occlusive enough to lock in my other skincare and due to the large size I can slather it on without any concern re the cost. It has ceramides and some niacinamide, as well as other deeply moisturising/soothing ingredients (the baby formulation has a better INCI list than the regular version). For something a bit lighter the baby cicaplast is a favourite, or the Avene cicalfate is a little heavier than the cicaplast - both of these are ultra soothing. I also like the cetaphil redness relief night cream during warmer weather - also soothing on the skin. I have super dry skin and need a rich/emollient/occlusive moisturiser all year around really, but the Scottish winter can be harsh. If I want to spend a little more then the omega cream or the clinical dry skin cream from paula's choice are both favourites at around £34. In any case I spend on my retinaldehyde and spf, but save on the other steps in my routine and still have a good anti aging routine (I use prescription azelaic acid in the morning). Best wishes.

    Beautypedia lists so many affordable, even drugstore, great moisturizers. 5 stars. One is the Crrave PM. Others are Inkey List, Tumeric, Multi-biotic and Hemp moisturizers. Boots No 7 Skin Hydrating Paste. Cetaphil Soothing Gel Cream. Cerave baby moisturizing lotion.

      The AGE Eye Complex is absolutely amazing!! I've tried so many eye creams over the eyes and this is the only eye cream that I've noticed a visible difference in every aspect. It firms, brightens, tightens and just refines the whole eye area. I only use it once a day and the jar lasts 3 months so it's not too bad. I haven't tried the AGE Interrupter Moisturiser because it's out of my budget but my older sister uses it and loves it. This line is definitely worth it imo 🙂

      Most dermatologists recommend using the same cream on your face and neck, because if if works on your face, it works on your neck. Only exception is retinol, but you don’t have to worry about that since you don’t use it. Those anti-aging creams d b recommended will anti-age your face too. If your skin is dry, you could use the bakuchiol serum first, then moisturiser and seal it all in with the rosehip oil.

    • @JasminMiettunen

      @@db-gb5xi those silicone patches only work temporarily, they don’t really help with any issues. Because you can't use your skincare under them, your issues can actually get worse over time. A consistent skincare routine is more important than those silicone patches.

Also Paula’s choice talks about how bad fragrances are for you and essential oils and how they destroy skin also bad alcohols. I really appreciate when you give us all those fragrance free favorites . Thank you

    I love all your videos and always look forward to the next one. I was looking forward to using the Neutragena vitamin C capsules that you were recommending a while back and I was so disappointed to discover that we can't get them here in the UK, I found them on Amazon but to get them shipped over to the UK was very expensive, so sadly I had to leave that one😒 I really liked the idea of vitamin C in a one-use capsule form at a budget price. The USA has a much wider choice of products at budget prices. Thank you so much for sharing all your information with us.💌

    I've also seen the skinfix recommended as a dupe for the de protini product. Another cerave product I've seen recommended as a more affordable option for the skinceuticals is the moisturizing cream.

    • @angelinebiswas7611
      @angelinebiswas7611 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Skinfix doesn’t even have peptides nor does it have any amino acids like protini. It’s the furthest thing from a dupe I’ve ever seen or used. Also skinfix texture is super emollient to the point of almost being greasy while protini is more of a gel that doesn’t grease up better for combo skin. I think it’s comparable to lala retro but LaLa retro is also less oily which is unfortunate because it’s so stupidly expensive

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does seem odd to label something as having peptides and then not having any (unless is named something completely different than most peptides. It does have ceramides and phytosphingosine which is a lipid. Oddly enough the gel version for oily skin does have a peptide in it.

In this video you are promoting using CeraVe skin renewing night cream, which has hyaluronic acid in it. Should this be used or not if you are using a retinoid at night?

    Hi Dr. Locke! I have a question regarding anti-aging serums, creams, etc., Since people are being urged to start an anti-ageing skin regimen while they're still in their twenties, wouldn't that skew the results of any anti-ageing product? I mean there are a lot of us who didn't start their regimens until we were in our 40s - 50s (excluding using SPF 30-50 on a daily basis). So when we're looking for a new serum or cream to try to help with our wrinkles/crinkles and fine lines, we'll buy the product based on the reviews and then quite possibly not have the same positive results as the younger compatriots. This doesn't seem quite fair to me and while I'm not trying to dissuade younger people from starting sooner than we did, it just doesn't seem honest. I'm curious as to your thoughts about this situation.

      I think most of the studies are done on mature skin. Doing a test on already young skin won’t show a difference now, the study would take decades. Trying the cream on mature skin for a few months shows results better and faster. You can’t really see preventative anti-aging, unless you wait until that 20-year-old is 50, but seeing if wrinkles on an older person get softer or not is easy to see and easy to document.

    Hello doctor! Personally I feel like I'm back to square one😫. I was following your advice on RetrinAL specifically the brand Avene, my skin never looked better. But, I began to notice my eyes were constantly hurting me and even my cell phone was just too much for my eyes to handle. Anyhow I began to research that for some people it can be very damaging to the eyes unfortunately I guess that is me. So I was wondering if you can do an anti aging routine without retrinAl. I feel pretty sad to let it go considering how my skin had greatly improved, I'm in my early 40s so any anti aging routine that you feel I could benefit from, since I guess I am sensitive to that ingredient, please share your knowledge.
    Thank you for all your great tips!!

    • @JasminMiettunen
      @JasminMiettunen ปีที่แล้ว

      Some dermatologists recommend using a different moisturiser around your eyes first and then avoiding the eye area with the retinal, if your eyes are the only issue you could still use it on the rest of your face.
      There’s retinol eye creams that are milder, so you could try those, depending on your eyes sensitivity to the ingredient. RetinOl is milder than retinAl, and eye creams usually have less of it. If you can’t tolerate any of it around your eyes, the best bet is probably peptides.
