Whats always amazed me about the Doors was what a rich sound they got without a bass when live - they did have a bass on recordings. I guess Ray Manzarek added bass notes on his synthesiser. Also Robby Krieger is playing bass licks on his guitar at times. That was very advanced for the time. Classic band. Grew up with them. Still play this.

I was 7 years old when I heard The Doors for the first time - 2007. I loved the energy coming out of Jim's voice and music. Light my fire was my favourite track. Now 12 years later, The doors are still my favourite band, their first album is my favourite album ever, Hollywood Bowl and Absolutely Live are my favourite live albums and I think, it won't change. Riccardo Condorelli I personally think the he's the best drumer I've ever heard playing. There are plenty of geniuses but Densmore is something special. Mixing jazz with psychedelic music is the most creative thing I've ever witnessed. God bless him.

Fun fact is that Ray Manzarek, the keyboard/organ player, played the bass sound with his left hand while doing the organ solos on his right hand. The Doors didn't have a separate bass player, however they recorded their music with a real bass. Bass was played by Manzarek during concerts only.
Henry Baird was outlining that the drumming of this song isn't always given as much credit as it should, the organ, music and guitar isn't really considered underrated because it is always being praised, and rightfully so because the vocals are amazing, the organ is also really great and the live version for this guitar solo is better then the studio guitar solo in my opinion, and these are all commonly said. But I agree, the drumming in this live performance is actually really good, and is quite underrated.

They had bass player only in LA.Woman, and even then he was playing in only few tracks. Ray Manzarek is playing all the bass notes with his left hand.
