This performance was at the end of the movie, and was filmed after midnight. The band, film crew were pretty spent by then. A few even suggested they all get an hour or two of sleep before filming the final segment. Mick Jagger reportedly was adamantly opposed to the idea.
Don't get enough credit?? Dude, what are you on, my friend? I'd like some! 😁 Seriously, they are EASILY considered by most to be one of the top 2 or 3 co-songwriters of all time. Especially when discussing classic rock, or 1960's counterculture. Second only to maybe Lennon/McCartney and often considered above them when specifically discussing classic rock. Also, second to Lennon/McCartney, they are the most SUCCESSFUL songwriting duo. That's just a simple fact. So not enough credit for you? Or do you just not really know what you're talking about? If the latter is true, well no worries mate; you obviously are at least a casual fan if not more, so you're off to a good start! 👍😁👍
I think you can get pretty close to objectivity by saying they aren't simply because all of their their albums aren't brilliant cover to cover. The same can be said of other great bands like Floyd or Zeppelin. The icky band that ever did that was The Beatles. That's why they're the best, plain and simple.
This song is amazing in many aspects: It's one of popular music's best songs ever recorded, it's an amazing dance song, and it also features Keith Richards' best guitar solo.
lol! yeah, the last 30 seconds, where they fold like a cheap lawn chair. don't get me wrong. I like the stones, certainly more than the beatles, but richards was garbage with a couple of fumbling solos, jones was so stoned he couldn't be relied on to do anything more than use a couple hand shakers, and Mick was apparently lip syncing, or there was serious delay between the mic and the p.a.
Love this performance and the Rolling Stones' Rock and Roll Circus as a whole. Just people along with music legends playing and enjoying music together. Rest in Peace, Charlie Watts
Splendida, trascinante, e sensuale ballata dei vecchi Stones, qui in una delle loro esibizioni giovanili più suggestive e coinvolgenti. Immensamente bravi e carismatici, come sempre.
This is such a good track all these years later. One of the most iconic Rock tracks of all time, and the way it is performed in this case is true showmanship. The whole thing. A band that was coming of age, but still plays to packed audiences more than 50 years later. Just Brilliant.
The Stone had been "of age" for several years already when this performance was recorded and filmed. The Beatles and the Stones both came out with their first double albums in 1967, _Sgt. Pepper_ and _Their Satanic Majesties Request._
I'm glad to see someone in the comments that recognizes the Stones, it really pains me to see all these kids making ridiculous comments about this "amazing new band"
To think that these guys are still performing at a high level and selling out every concert is beyond amazing. Probably the only band ever that over the years rocked kids and their great grandparents in person.
I'm one of the biggest fans of The Who you'll find and on behalf of Who Nation: this performance is absolutely incredible! When I was young we always played the "this band is better than that band" game. But from the perspective of a 55 year old: they're ALL great! Be thankful you were alive during the time frame when bands like the Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zep, etc were kicking ass live onstage!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I met my wife and married her when we were very young. We were also very young parents, and in the beginning I struggled trying to find a job to pay for us all. I got into a plumbing apprenticeship by the grace of God when we needed it most, and this is one of the anthems of my life. I just wanted a humble and stable life, and make sure we'd all be ok. I'm now 48 with 27 and 23 year old sons that have grown into incredible, smart, talented young men. I credit my wife for a lot of it, but I'm happy that I could be there to help when I could.

So agree with you. Never a more high octane show as Jagger did here. Don't really like the stones but this was mesmerizing. Long live amphetamines!
Certainly one of the great lectures. Fleurs du Mal stuff.

This performance was at the end of the movie, and was filmed after midnight. The band, film crew were pretty spent by then. A few even suggested they all get an hour or two of sleep before filming the final segment. Mick Jagger reportedly was adamantly opposed to the idea.
zSo hard to watch them knowing Charlie is gone :(
Mick and Keith don’t get enough credit for there genius song writing. To me the greatest band ever.
The stones are great but pink floyd is the best band EVER
when NIcky was with them, possibly...
@@solomonkane6442 Just: no
I think you can get pretty close to objectivity by saying they aren't simply because all of their their albums aren't brilliant cover to cover. The same can be said of other great bands like Floyd or Zeppelin. The icky band that ever did that was The Beatles. That's why they're the best, plain and simple.
Mick and geetars and drums all right
This song is amazing in many aspects: It's one of popular music's best songs ever recorded, it's an amazing dance song, and it also features Keith Richards' best guitar solo.
And the lyrics are a masterpiece
You dont get any thing better than that . 08:20 secs of pure musical brilliance . From start to finish .
lol! yeah, the last 30 seconds, where they fold like a cheap lawn chair. don't get me wrong. I like the stones, certainly more than the beatles, but richards was garbage with a couple of fumbling solos, jones was so stoned he couldn't be relied on to do anything more than use a couple hand shakers, and Mick was apparently lip syncing, or there was serious delay between the mic and the p.a.
@@stevedavis8329 not lip syncing. this was a live show. the studio version is better. it's pure, pure.

The Stone had been "of age" for several years already when this performance was recorded and filmed. The Beatles and the Stones both came out with their first double albums in 1967, _Sgt. Pepper_ and _Their Satanic Majesties Request._
